  1. I was just thinking the other day we needed more Australians around here. Tell 'yer friends! Welcome.
  2. Wristie? Not my watch, but for reference I have these I gleaned from the 'net for comparison. I'm on a carpet bomb campaign to get the replica factories on this and other Speedmasters. I know it's useless, they only move on their own good time? I've spoken to a few dealers and they say 'soon', but I think they are as much in the dark as we are. The membership(s) of all the sites speak endlessly of what they would like to see repped, you know, the 'demand' side of the equation? They have all the resources I just don't understand a lot about all this business..............
  3. Dr. King would have been proud, if not in flat out in giddy disbelief of how far we as a nation have come in the scant forty seven years since he spoke these words. Still, a lot further to go.
  4. Now that I think about it, uh duh, the bracelet I have now was a replacement from Joshua as the original clasp broke. I swapped it out no problema, but, I did have to take it to a jeweler to have it sized. I got now where on my own withn that............maybe it's a different run or from a different factory? Hmmmmmmm.
  5. I'd like to see 'TTK' reinstated as a member if not a dealer. As a gesture. Certainly not second guessing the Admin. for their actions, but as someone (me) and others who had been forgiven A LOT for heated indiscretion on the old RWG, we all know; people change. I have been given so much leash and understanding there and here, the gesture would just be the 'RWG way'. I was not part of this forum when he was banned, but was on TRC when he was banned there. I was floored by the news. Not really sure of the particulars, only that no uncertain 'threats' were made against individuals? 'TTK' never did anything 'idle'. I would imagine the threats were taken seriously (hell, I would've), therefore the course of action? Not my biz, and I would never confuse or second guess the Admin. here administering 'control' as a grudge. Just no way, but giving second even third chances? They are notorious for that. I and others are here to tell you. He had a lot to answer for, but much more to contribute. As a matter of pride he probably would decline participating anyway.
  6. Really? Not trying to drum up drama, but that is the one site I've never tried. Always meant to, but............ It's amazing, so many members cross the boarders from site to site and contribute well, but each site is so unique. I tested RG and dabble at RWG1.1 but I really am at a loss at those sites. Here? Easy peasy, lemon squeezy. Curious.
  7. lol, a complete misunderstanding here kb. I really did take the quote out of context of your intent, but I wasn't thinking. Apologies. It never even registered I was quoting you until this^^^^^ post. I just seized the words. The whole 'cartel' issue? The case was made, well, but I just never was unnerved by it. To me? It was a non-issue.
  8. LMAO! By the time I read this thread's header on the main page and by the time it took to scan to the right to realize 'lanikai' posted it? I WAS HOT! Completely fell for it. Ubi is going to heaven. With an ocean view.
  9. To distill the essence down of my impression? If the [censored] was heavy, and you were ever in doubt of making it out alive? If 'TTK' had anything to do with it, you'd be OK. Watches are less important than that. So are legs. 'TTK' will be OK. He was banned for good reason. And still true to himself. That's pretty powerful.
  10. As an Asian, Joshua is my favorite American. I tell this story regularly, but it's been a while, so I'm going to tell it again; Long, long ago I bought a 6263 from Joshua. He was younger and a little shorter then, I was taller than I am now. The watch arrived slightly damaged, like; 'mushed'. The crystal was cracked, the bezel was askew the plastic retainer and a pusher was bent. As Joshua hadn't, and still doesn't, 'drop ship', we decided 'Customs' had a go at it out of spite. No problem, Joshua just told me to ship it back for replacement. Not being able to resist playing with my new toy, I tried to bend the pusher back to get the chrono running. The pusher came off in my hand. *SNAP* Crap. My bad. Rob, then 'The Zigmeisterzumba' then 'Zigmeister' hadn't really set up his shop, but did mods and service for running scale. I asked him what it might cost to replace the pusher; parts and labor. He gave me a number. With the watch, I sent $usd$ to cover my portion of fixing what I had broken. Joshua would have none of it, and said my next purchase would be discounted the amount I sent. In the interim, Joshua launched his internet shop. Every succeeding purchase I made from Joshua I bought through the eShop. Obviously paying the advertised amount. Years and years went by and the PO's were launched. I wanted a Chrono version and tried to source through Perfect Clones. There was a temporary glitch in the credit card security server and no sales could go through. I contacted Joshua through email and we decided to go about the sale the 'old fashioned way'. Western Union. He reduced my price of the Chrono to cover the Western Union fee, another reduction to cover my inconvenience, and still more to discount the money I had sent him years earlier. If I resisted the gesture? No watch for me. So, that's who you're dealing with Nogs. Enjoy your watch!
  11. Jeez, I have been wearing mine for a few weeks now. Although I've had it for years I just never truly got used to the size of the thing, but now it feels normal. I was toying with the idea of trying a rubber strap, but now? After reading this thread? What specifically is the deal? Lug holes misaligned with the spring bars?
  12. When I read the title of your post Andy, I was going to chime in on this ^^^^^^^^^. AGAIN! Other than waiting for the factories to get it together with regard to that 7750, there simple answer to your question is; "no". As much as I try to pay attention, I'll just never understand what 'moves the wheels of forward progress' of replica. The UPO chrono with correct subdial spacing is out there, but not the Speedmasters, 6263, or the 16520? I thought 'demand' drove commerce? No, I'll never understand.
  13. Thanks, I needed a suggestion for Netflix tonight. HfRO deserves another view by now. I hope they have that one streaming.
  14. Scary, but I don't think we have anything to worry about, buying from the dealers here, who don't sell the really low grade stuff. I don't even recall any 'chromed' pieces at all, just gold plated/polished SS. Member 'Bike Mike' did the quintessential post regarding the SS content here;http://www.rwgforum.com/topic/108905-316l-really-update-%2335-gen-rolex-case/ and he reported no levels. You know, regarding the lead hazard to children, these reports are important, but hell, all my life I've pinched lead fishing weight split shot with my teeth. I turned out OK pretty normal reasonable so's I can drive a car and feed myself.
  15. I think you're doing all you can do rek, the Liquid Wrench.............a trick mechanics use to unfreeze stubborn bolts is to *tap* the head of the screw/bolt to 'wake it up', that may give the penetrating oil a chance to, uh, penetrate deeper. Maybe put the link up on it's side, put your driver in the slot an give it a good tap, let the oil soak over night, and then give it a go. Even if you get it out, the screw head or the link may be stripped and not be able to be used. Good luck!
  16. When I used to live in Kendall, FL just off of Alligator Alley a neighbor of mine shot a Black Panther and got caught. He was subpoenaed to court for poaching. Deep [censored]. I went with him when he appeared. He explained to the judge he had a permit to hunt the preserve for the culling of indigenous species and was a sustenance hunter for his large family. The judge showed mercy and gave him the minimum fine and no time served. Whew! But the judge had to ask; "Panther? What the hell does that taste like?" "Oh, a cross between a manatee and a bald eagle."
  17. lol @ Pete in this thread. The ironic point I think Dani was making is when; things go right for us 'rep' collectors with regard to 'Customs' that means, largely, 'Customs' has failed to do their job. I think, being on RWG these years that Germany, Canada and Belgium are the worst, for us, but do their jobs, the best. If the croc and reps don't make it through, then the Anthrax, Bombs and Lady Gaga CD's won't either.
  18. People have done it hiho, and there it had been a 'perfect' fit, 'dluddy' made the move to his Eddie Lee Moon Watch, but I wouldn't go so far as to give it a blanket 'yes'. 'dluddy' 's watch was from an '04 run. There are too many 'ifs' and anomalies in 'replica' runs. I suppose a 'cheaper' route would be to source the quartz replica Moon for under $100 (aside being 'quartz' it's a better 'replica' visually, true working tri-compax chrono) that comes stock with a purdy accurate solid caseback. If it fits the hand wind version, then swap the see thru and get rid of the quartz, or keep it. 2X watches. If you source the gen case back and it's a 'no fit'? Out 118. Maybe someone with more inside knowledge will contribute here. Like hundreds of others, I'm STILL waiting for the modified 7750 that will fit these Moon dials (and other Speedy's) to break. When it does? I'll be at the head of the line, then ordering the gen case back, gamble be damned. @ PrDubis Yeah. I think you could order this watch from a dealer who does not drop ship and have the 6 subdial frozen @ 12, perhaps for a small fee. It's ironic. Those Seagull bi-compax movements don't support a subdial @ 6 from the factory, but the rep factories add the module. Stop it. Already. I think the dealers would move more pieces if the 6 subdials were 'dummy' out of the box? Same goes for the rep 6263's with the same engines.
  19. Cheers. Love that WM. Especially the hour markers. Love the Rlx Sub to death, but after 6 years on RWG I'm over looking at it. Almost. That's new to me. Goooooogle fodder. Yum! Thanks. I think I may have found us an interesting article for the News Letter; Sanctioned homage pieces;
  20. They spelled it wrong. The 'p' is silent so the Anglo's dropped it. Have fun. Jealous of this one.
  21. No, but they aren't cheap, but they are a 'must'. 118usd Enjoy!
