  1. C'mon Fakey. You're the 'one liner' king. You have enough field to work with. Me? I could burn up the entire Leisure section of the Times. Keep posting tho'. This thread is as arcane as Doc's "Free" thread. He's got a six page lead. We could turn it into monster if we all pull together as a team.
  2. Buy this watch;http://www.perfect-hour.com/omse01004-planet-ocean-455mm-ssru-black-28242-p-4220.html $298 wear it out of the box. Take Mrs. AllergyDoc back to the reservoir. You'll have more fun there than at the Ofrei web page mulling over a genuine hand set. I would hope.
  3. Good price, but what you're paying for. For another $60 you could have gotten ETA, correct HEV position, minute hand, aligned dial, magnetic cover, rubber strap with correct buckle from Joshua. These mods these others are talking about? To bring this up to speed? I guess. Even at cheap Ofrei prices? More than $60. Are you going to do the work yourself? More than more than $60. Personally speaking Doc? Your above 'entry level' watches to save $60. Did your property taxes go up again? Anyhoo, to be honest, there's not a watch in this whole thread I wouldn't be happy to wear as is..................
  4. It's nice. But you're right, the second hand should reach the outer perimeter of the minute ticks, and the HEV valve is as far below the ten o'clock marker as it should be above. If you wanted to get anal (not that there's anything wrong with that), the lume is too 'green' to gen and the date wheel is too deep. It's a shame too, because people really notice these things in real life. How much? gen
  5. Is there an English translation we could consider?
  6. Looks like a Wokmariner to me.
  7. Ahhhh. Don't know why, but Eddie Lee always requested I put "Medical Test Kit" in the remarks section. Maybe because he actually dealt in that realm for his real job. I'm sure anything you come up with will be OK. Probably within their ethics (maybe even our acceptance of their 'terms' in the fine print somewhere) to query arbitrarily, but not to 'push' the issue even if they are suspicious. They are bastards tho'. Telling them to screw off and mind their own damn business will get your account revoked. It did mine. In the future, maybe selecting 'service' will put up a smoke screen. Only if you are using a dealer you trust. Selecting 'goods' is only for your protection should you want to start a 'dispute'. Starting a PayPal dispute with one of RWG's 'trusted dealers'? Might as well tattoo a Scarlet Letter on your avatar. The fine print in their 'terms' agreement is from hell Col. Read it sometime. I think a divorce lawyer penned it. Suffice, never carry a balance on PP greater than an imminent purchase, and NEVER varify your PP account to your regular checking. Create a checking account exclusively for PayPal transactions. ESPECIALLY if you use PayPal for 'replica'. They will go into your checking account and withdraw funds from disputes, even unverified disputes, and will freeze any balance they deem fit in your PayPal account and use the money as a free loan any way they wish. Probabaly in the Derivatives Market. For months while you hassle with them. And by clicking 'I accept these terms'? We/You all agreed to it.
  8. Too much fun! Congrats on putting it together.
  9. Just tell them it was for a 'service' rendered trip, 'camera repair' say. Don't dig a hole with 'goods' purchased.
  10. True. The crackers I work and mingle with will notice any watch I wear only to the extent; "Hey Dems, what time is it?" I would imagine the members here that are monetarily successful professionals are more looking over their shoulders. Breaking a sweat in mixed company more than likely. Ewwww. What's that like I wonder?
  11. Good post 'lanikai'. These comparisons are invaluable to both the noob, and to the established membership who may want to guide a noob, but don't have the time to compose a post because of time restraints. Or, to us Seniors who are not paying attention. A 'link' to this thread, or if we are of sterner stuff; a 'Search' to this thread is, well, as I said; invaluable. And to any noob who may be puzzling over the fact the 'ten' on the bezel is flawed, and why the factories don't surmount these 'tells' when they certainly can, and to 'flaws' in general? Well 3X watches of one model to one collector. Happens all the time. Frustrating to us, brilliant on their part. It's a business like any other. The market actually supports the practice. We support it in our western impatience and need for immediate gratification. They know their market. Oh yeah. In 'replica' patience pays. But be aware; that 'ten' may indeed be corrected in the 'Perfect Ultimate', but that sandwich date window? It may fall the way of the domed plexi Speedmaster Moon Watch crystal. It's a game and a gamble. The house always comes out ahead.
  12. Me. Good stuff Mike. I was eagerly awaiting this thread. Not disappointing.
  13. Good to see you Gunnar......................
  14. I always figured the seal, internal of the tube, was more a 'dust/moisture as humidity' seal when the crown was unscrewed for settings rather than a 'water' seal. In Gio's pics seal #1 is the frontline for pressure. If water evaded seals 1&2? Water intrusion imminent even if seal #3 was present. As 'alligoat' remarked, you're probably good to go for swimming, bathing etc. Still, it would be preferable to have it J. I would imagine.
  15. I have only given the link a cursory scan, but am looking forward to absorbing it's entirety. So far I think it's refreshing. We mock what we don't understand. Those who mock replica do not understand. Five hours browsing RWG and especially coming across posts by JoJo, Nanuq, Stephane, Freddy, many others who collect both gen and replica, and the deep understanding the majority of members here have beyond 'brand' and zeitgeist, toward calibres, brand history, and thanks to Rob what makes the things tick (pun intended) any true horologist would be impressed. I personally don't consider RWG a 'replica' site per se` anymore. You know how much I've learned about Tudor and Doxa in the past five months? More than what is represented as 'replica'. That's for sure.
  16. spa, I have only been here a year. I am ostensibly a noob. I remember you well from the old RWG, and was glad to receive your PM those weeks back. We were all part of the camaraderie that built the foundations of this board bringing it to the place it is now. A better place than the old RWG. Believe me. I know. Without remembering the specifics or exact words in posts, some avatars, as you scroll by, give you pause and evoke good feelings that are a large part why I participate. Your avatar is one that falls into this category. I do like 'watches' but have more a passion and fascination for 'people'. Especially drawn to the multicultural/international aspect here. This is where a man can truly become 'worldly', not by merely traveling the world. I never contributed a single cent to the old RWG, didn't participate in raffles, and didn't order one of those questionably tasteful RWG Railmasters. Firstly, the old RWG was hosted on domestic servers, and was a base level package. We had bandwidth problems if folk didn't host pics on remote sites. It were of very little financial drain on the webmaster. He was a struggling student himself after all and the original RWG mission was aside 'trades', 'sales', even sourcing replica watches. The fact the trades existed at all was a 'service' to the membership for which we were all grateful. I do believe too he was compensated by hosting banners and ads on the seldom visited homepage that earned income to support the board. Reasonable. The forum there is gone, but the site still runs as do those banners and ads. Someone somewhere is being financially compensated. Not here. I believe banners were included here for a short while to aid in support, which was largely met in a negative way. Fine, but the bills still have to be paid. I begrudge no member who may bring donation and upgrade to the forefront of discussion. It is a tight rope and an obviously thankless endeavor. 'lanikai' 's signature graphic was raised here. It never dawned on me it could be misconstrued as any sort of bullying putsch for funds? I suppose if you were clueless of his role and contributions here on the site, looking at it in the abstract, you may come to that conclusion. But his contributions here, which are so many and so obvious, should put him beyond reproach. He has been singled out, or felt as though he had been to the point he had to defend himself and it's just wrong. It took me all of an hour after I finally registered here to realize his role here, which is large. Secondly, and it seems slight and ridiculous now since the hobby and member participation has escalated to such a high bar, I had reviewed every single watch I had purchased on the old RWG. Dozens. Then, in RWG's relative infancy, those reviews, especially with regard to 'new' dealers, were worth more than their bandwidth in gold to the membership. That was my contribution in lieu of 'cash'. I actually used to hold in disdain those members who merely 'cut checks' to BLADE for homage to RWG rather than put in efforts to build homemade light boxes, spend hours gleaning infos on the El Primero Daytona movement's particulars, search for what 'Lemania copy' actually meant, tear down a 7750 or spend a Friday evening goofing off online. I have NO guilt about not contributing mere 'money'. The thought is actually vulgar. More important were people concerned for people, with regard to getting ripped off dealing in 'replica' on the internet certainly, but more so concern for them merely as 'people'. Literally; a purported suicide intervened, older gentlemen self admittedly on the feather edge of despair reaching out and finding solace, enthusiasm of people awkward in their way, but fitting in, you were there too, I'm sure you recall. If you read this entire thread, I think I mentioned my membership upgrade was grata from the Admin. That is evidence of what is important to those guys; gestures of solidarity. That is what is most important. If 'Conerstone', 'Admin' and the others state "Everyone is Welcomed"; then they are. That's final. The rhetoric, bend and sway of the members group is well aside the policy of the webmaster and his team. Focus should be on administrative policy, not what may be inferred, actual or imaginary from and by 'members'. There is a disclaimer on the header of every page. It's there for a reason. I have indeed made good on my Platinum membership and will continue to do so as long as I participate here. I will, not because I feel pressured to, it is expected, if it makes me 'in' with elitists or even because it is 'fair'. It's because I want to. Sincerely. The site in my opinion is deserved of it. It's almost a selfish gesture on my part to keep it going. I do it for me, as much as 'them'. I have fallen by the wayside with regard to replica. There is no way I could contribute, as I once did, to the benefit of up to date infos. It's just gotten too far out of reach in scope and my resources available. 'Platinum' is 3X the cost of 'Supporter'. If I am toeing the line for two other contributing members who feel they cannot afford the expenditure? Awesome. Come back, post, enjoy. I don't have to speak on behalf of the Admin. because they have already. As far as I'm concerned? You are welcome to any portion of my Platinum membership you please and screw all to those who may feel you don't deserve to be here. As I posted above I just don't know who 'those' would be. Since the start of this thread, which took me rather by surprise, I do not know who the 'victims' are. Those who Doc reported are posting on other boards of ill treatment with regard. I can only imagine other transgressions of said members led to the membership pointing out their ingratitude. You know, the few who kick in the door, ask in tones of demand "Who, What, Where, the Best?" And then disappear. If there is a post around here somewhere where a noob got jumped for a thin wallet? I would like to be linked to it. I would come alive. Hope you continue to post.
  17. See my siggy. Someday, when we are wearing correct SMPMW's we will revisit this thread! Nice shot and watches boys!
  18. Nice watch. Great journey. Good tale. I dunno D, if I had scratched that insert taking out the garbage? I would have prolly swapped it. But spelunking!? Cool! Sometimes you have to ask yourself; WWND? (What Would 'Nanuq' Do?) The other week pulling Grouper out of the Atlantic with my kids, the sash weight on a Bandit reel swung in and crashed all hell out of my Josh Sub insert. Two years ago I would have been online to Watchmaterial.com stat. Now? It got a big "OH YEAH! BABY!" I used to wonder why Bob would revel in his beautiful gens taking the brunt; 1. They are tool watches. Wilsdorf would be proud 2) Every scratch a memory. I'm working on my 'wristwatch philosophy'. Wear your PO in good health!
  19. Nice JJ. Jealous. The 16613 is the 'it' Rolex as far as I'm concerned. I'd rather 'own' the 6263, but the 16613 Black Dial is the 'it' watch for sure. Huh By-Tor? I had this watch as replica from Joshua. I will still maintain that watch was the first piece bought from Joshua by a member of RWG. Looooooong before Perfect Clones was up and running. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. Anyhoo, I'd like to open a discussion with regard to the bezel insert. Specifically the color hue of the font. When I bought my watch from Josh I did a review. One aspect that I dwelled on, and suggested may be a flaw, was the insert font was more a 'brassy' (for lack of a better term) color rather than an exact match to the gold accoutrement, the mid-links, bezel, crown. A member, who had recently been in several AD's looking to source a gen, posted that he had tried on several black dialed 16613's and that the insert did indeed come in two variations. One, the more 'brassy' one, and another a spot on match to the 18K gold. That put my mind to ease, but when 'By-Tor' soon bought a similar replica, his featured an exact color match to the rest of the gold of the watch. I was torn over which I preferred. I see here your watch features a contrasting insert font hue to the noble metal as my rep had. Is it true? Are there the two types? If so, when you swapped inserts were you given an option? I've been curious over this matter for years. Too trivial to raise in general discussion, but since you posted this watch.............. From my archive dated '05. lol this pic stirs very old RWG memories. Getting a PM from a very enthusiastic Noob with an animated Rush gif avatar
  20. Just conjecture about 'cost' J, but I think, along side the security, is the need for clandestine off shore servers. RWG old recipe was rousted by the authorities. Hard. The domestic hardware was within Federal jurisdiction. The webmaster there tried to skirt the issue by hosting the 'trade' section as a separate entity linked to RWG. No dice. Before the site imploded the webmaster was working toward the set up which is in place here. That costs big. I remember the sum of 3K being discussed. I don't know enough about hosting to say what that was for; set up costs, term cost or what. If the Admin. says it costs 'X' then it costs 'X'.
  21. It's an uncanny filter this; I felt victimized buy the membership of RWG filter. If Doc reports there are members of other boards that found RWG, specifically the conduct of the membership, offensive to their sensitivities? It's certainly not my place, but I'd personally prefer they stay where they feel more welcome. Elsewhere. It just occurrs; Doc notwithstanding, the premise of this thread is really starting to [censored] me the [censored] off. There's another good reason for Platinum membership 'lanikai' you may want to use to the endowment's advantage".....starting to [censored] me the [censored] off"" just doesn't carry the same weight.
  22. Good review p153, I'm with Robert, the minutia of detail we are starting to view as unacceptable, or at least regrettable is getting a little unrealistic. As compared to PeteM's SDDS from ETz I think you got a 'good one' by comparison. I have no qualms with the ETz wares, only their claims toward QC. I think they should just let that bird go and just be amenable with regard to after sales service. I would rather have an apology and a remedy for a bad piece than to be taken advantage of with bogus claims. I think we all would. I especially feel good about your bezel '10' being aligned between the ticks. After 'lanikai' 's review of Joshua's piece, which I think may be a better (but more expensive?) watch, that bezel ( the misaligned '10' one) could be a deal breaker. A bigger 'tell' than the HEV or any of the 'RING LOCK' alignment issues you have here. It's a good replica. Anyhoo, this watch is more correct to genuine than any Rolex rep I own and am perfectly comfortable wearing around. I think I may bite on one from Joshua after the New Year. ps Happy Birthday!
  23. Ditto! If that's your 'entry level' attempt, you're going to be a star!
  24. Rolex Daytona 116250 running seconds @ 6. So complicated it confounds itself. A mastery of Asian ingenuity and barnyard engineering.
  25. To 'Nikki6'. Sorry dude, a day late. I saw it were your birthday yesterday morning when I logged on, but the board went down for the update and I just got side tracked. I bummed this morning when it occurred. Anyhoo, to a guy with a lot of heart and tenacity. Keep on keepin' on. Hope you had a good one............ Dems
