  1. You knock it off, fakey, you lied to everyone here. You claimed Admin at RWG said something they never said. Your assumptions don't mean a thing. dingleberry is right and you are just making things up to try to look like you know what you're talking about, and you don't. You have no more insight into Admin at RWG than a common troll.
  2. Baldy claims to be a Scot, but he's tried to give the impression that he was in Thailand. Regardless, I've yet to read anything he's posted that was even close to being the truth.
  3. I'm certain it's no surprise that he's denying it all.
  4. If it is Baldrick he surely has some beautiful pictures of watches that have some really raggedy looking bezel numbers.
  5. The ROLS166 I used from Silix came with a 2836-2. My plan was to use the modified Swiss ETA 2836-2 GMT, which obviously fit.
  6. Obviously that is quite possible. I went with the date that the white dial watch were released to PanAm which was after the change to the stamped insert.
  7. It's too late, I saw it... freddy, I agree with your assessments. What I've seen of all the pictures on line both 'models' of the 6542 have many variances. And a good many are from the Rolex factory themselves. The dials used on the black were both gilt and white lettering, some 'T <25', some not. From what I read the bakelite insert lasted only about a year from Rolex, and was not installed in the Pan Am 'Executive' white face. Any bakelite insert watches they got in for service were replaced with the stamped insert. Later, after the 1675 came out any 6542 that came in for service was subject to getting the stamped insert, new 'Superlative' dial, the larger 4th hand and all black numbered date wheel. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to the changes, so I don't know if the watch owner had a choice in the changes or not. As you've said before, the bakelite insert was fragile and it is likely that none that we've seen are original, all an aftermarket from one source or another. I had not seen any pics of the white dial without the Pan Am globe on the case-back, but that is further 'good news' to me! It says to me that there is quite a bit more 'flexibility' in building a 6542, and it has the benefit of being the correct hand stack and no crown guards to be judged by the replica experts.
  8. The ETA 2893-2 GMT wheel is 1.80, the same as Genuine Rolex. The modified ETA 2836-2 we get from our Chinese friends vary, but most seem to be 2.00. The handstack is the same on both, and correct for the Rolex 6542, as freddy333 said, and the early 1675. The ETA 2893-2 will fit anywhere the ETA 2836-2 fits, but it is slightly thinner. Mine lined up perfectly, stem and all, in the Silix case I used in my project.
  9. That would make my crystal 2mm too high. I will check that out. I think that shorter, to the bevel as you said, would not only look better, but be more practical when worn. Thank You!
  10. It takes some searching on the internet, and finding the dial you want. Because these are old many have been refinished and are not always 'right'. The Rolex Crown is wrong, or the printing. Then once you have it, and you might need several pics, you have to make it round. Most pictures are not 'dead on', so they have a slight 'oval' to them. I used my photo program to do it all, move things around, and printed at 2400dpi which is the max my machine will do. I bought one sheet, 8
  11. I've preferred the Rolex GMT since I first saw it, and have had a few reps. I came to all the forums looking for a 'good' one with a Swiss movement but not the price tag. I am a member here, but spend most of my time at another site, just happened that way.

I've used Opera for about 10 years now. There are some sites it does not work well on, some issue with EBay as an example. I use FireFox as backup, it is not as fast as Opera, but close. But my trackball will not scroll in FireFox.
  13. I think everyone knows that Joshua at Perfect Clones is an excellent, trusted dealer that cares about his customers and provides service after the sale when needed. Nothing has changed in this economic downturn, Josh is still doing it better than the rest. I recently had a minor problem with a watch I bought from him last summer. I didn't expect he'd be able to help. Instead, Joshua took care of everything, and the communication was stellar. I was informed through it all. You get to be #1 by being very good. You stay #1 by being the best. Thank you again, Joshua.
  14. Damn, I remember when some of those were new cars. I made a deal on a red 1970 Dodge Charger 440 6 pack, $2500 and my 1964 Oldsmobile Starfire in trade. I backed out at the last minute and sold my car for $1200, and bought a 1965 Corvette Roadster, 327/300 hp, 4 spd with road pipes and two tops for $1500. Loved that car. Wish I had it now.
  15. This is my toy. Yes, it is a replica.
  16. That looks like my old car!! Same color and all, I had the Ronal AMG wheels. I had mine for almost 15 years, 244,000 miles, and loved it. I almost changed my mind when I sold it and the guy was starting to drive away. I have the E430 now and really like it, but I do miss my 190E.
  17. Wow! Yep, I guess so!! Does it come with the Batman suit?
