Looking on the pics on that ebay link, it looks as though you could put a small lip on the edge of the datewheel (to make it higher than the gears), and then stick another date wheel on top.
Okay, I've had a browse of the usual suspects websites and found nothing ..
The other half is after a watch with the following :
Not a fashion brand
Automatic
Skeleton / display backed.
Can anyone help?
Otherwise It'll be
Hey guys,
No worries.
I was just looking to find someone I trust, and as Steve was local to me, we got chatting and said he knew someone who would do the work.
When the work was done well, I thought we'd be able to help other members out.
I totally understand that we are both "new" to the forum, and that protecting members cash and watches is a priority.
The plan was for me to post up my ebay login etc. to show people we are genuine and not some fly by night cowboys.
Sorry if it's caused offence.
No hard feelings?
Ben.
The hand sweeps round the bottom 3rd, telling you the mins, the hand in the bottom 3rd has the Hour on it (and each of the 3 hands rotates, so each hand is used for 4 separate hours : 1,4,7,10 : 2,5,8,11 : 3,6,9,12)
Agree with that .. with the UTC on the strap, that's the watch I origionally came in here for, but saw the 2 variations of reps and didn't like either.
Yup, happy to help
Drop me a PM with the details, and we can get the ball rolling.
Very happy with mine. some of the prices I've been quoted elsewhere are more than the price of the watch.
Ben.
Well, both watches are back after a service, gaskets replaced and being regulated.
The two are a little quieter, and were both pressure tested (only a little to make sure they were water resistant).
Overall, well happy. If it keeps them running trouble free for several years.
The guys doing the work is also happy to do others. So if anyone else wants theirs done, I can arrange something to get the watches and payments to him?
I thought there may be something overlapping the datewheel, but I thought I'd ask.
Shame they can't put a thin spacer round the edge of the datewheel and then put another on top. Leaving a groove for the cogs to turn in.
Would make re-assembling a nightmare though.
I assume that there is no method to "pad" the datewheel out so it is closer to the dial?
Lke making it thicker so it would stand out from the top of the movement more.
Or is it more psycological?
Have these two watches been hidden under your sleeve until you mod them, and now you are deliberatly showing these changes off. So people now notice them?
Or more likely, as they think it'll "not hurt anyone, it's insured" ..
It's a hard game to play.
And do you insure it as a rep - making customs suspisious (Rolex for $200) ..
or as a gen - lying, paying more, and advertising it as a high value for a theif ..
I PM'ed the new guy, but there were a few factors that made me go with Steve's contact instead.
Price and speed of turnover. Also the fact he is more "local" helped too.
It looks like we are slowly getting a few good contacts now in the UK.
I'll review the work once I get my watches back.
Sounds good Steve.
I'll have a close look at my two 7750s when they come back.
As you say, for the price and quick turnaround, he can't be beat.
If you need a hand with helping others, let me know
The only Pic that I can see is 7 cases stacked .. 7 cases!
I'm new to all this watch stuff .. And I'm scared, my wallet is scared, my bank account is scared.
