Converting A Manual Wind To An Automatic
Chronus replied to Chronus's topic in Watch Repair & Upgrade
I forgot about the date function. Still it would have been an interesting project, but oh well. Thanks for responding to an ill-thought out idea! -
Maybe it gives time to transfer over some useful threads?

There's always one isnt there.

Now This Puts Rep V Gen In Perspective
Chronus replied to TJGladeRaider's topic in General Discussion
Does that include the price of the winder ? -
It's along those lines. No time to double check but I think you got the right one there.
-
I'll have to check, no time now, getting ready for a birthday dinner, but I think Precious Time had the right bezel combination on his two tone GMT. I think it's black bezel, black dial, green date and green "GMT MASTER II" on dial. Check his pics. Don't forget ROLEX ROLEX ROLEX around the rehaut. And I think these anniversary ones only came in full gold, though if i got one it would be a two tone rep, much nicer.
-
I *think* it's 21600, may be something to do with the co-axial movement perhaps ?
-
A lot from ebay.. i have some rep ones of current ones cos it's cheaper, but mostly the real thing. There are some good sellers with older shirts... I love the stretchy Kappa ones A great UK site is www.subsidesports.co.uk They have a lot, and usually good deals in the sales section. I got my classic retro Dynamo Kiev, retro Real Madrid, retro Mexico, Peru, Paraguay and other shirts from there

Omega Seamaster GMT (white dial). robertk - where did you get that Zenith El Primero, and where can i get a bracelet ? Would it fit on a gen Zenith Rainbow El Primero?
-
I have lots of jerseys, even Denmark, but haven't found a cheap Norway one yet. I have England, Wales, France, Holland, Brasil, Argentina, Peru, Paraguay, Mexico, Colombia, Ecuador, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Russia, Czech Republic, Sweden, Greece, Switzerland, Ukraine and others I am forgetting (but no Germany... how could I ever wear that in the streets of London, and obviously not being German at all!). Also lots of club teams, very few sponsored ones except Liverpool (my team) and 1 AC Milan. I think I have maybe 50-100 jerseys! My addiction before watches!

This is pasted from a post I made in a thread in General Discussion. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Here's an idea to knock this over it's head. Someone (moderator or interested member?) could make a new thread (and continuously update it) called, for example, "Information on the best R*l*x Submariner" and put in links to all the relevant threads, with a short description. eg. Review of Joshua's Asian movement $100 sub, 04-June-2006; xxxx's guide to R*l*x submariners; xxxx's guide to R*l*x replica in general; etc. This way access for a newbie to all the posts will be easily found in one place with no need to ask another member. A thread like this could also be pinned at the top on selected boards, like this General Discussion board that will get that question a lot otherwise. Obviously it should be pinned in the relevant places such as R*l*x picture subforum and so on. This could also similarly be done for Best Omega Planet Ocean, Panerai Daylight, R*l*x vintage etc and contain links to guides and reviews. PS. I don't volunteer... it's just a suggestion, I have enough problems elsewhere already

As an automatic seems to be a manual wind with a weighted rotor and clutch mechanism added on to wind the spring, is it possible to adapt, say, an ETA "Unitas" 6497 and add this to make it into an automatic movement? This would solve some problems with automatic watches such as many PAMs (092, 024, etc etc) that have a sub-seconds dial at 9. At present, the better reps use the Asian 7750b1, but I feel this one would be cheaper and easier to maintain if this is at all possible.

I have the player issue Adidas version with no sponsor on the front! (I hate sponsors on my jerseys) It is the black version with yellow panels on the side. How about I wear the gold long-sleeve Sweden centenary jersey out there
-
I'm not 100% sure but isn't that Izabella Scorupco. Wait a minute, the image name says it is. She's not Swedish, she's Polish! She always look damn good though Go watch her in Goldeneye and Reign of Fire! http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001713/

Seeing as you aren't interested, you don't mind if I come over and foc* up the 2 on the left some more ? I went to Copenhagen for New Year's Eve just gone... maybe Sverige should be the next one! By the way I'm not Swedish! I'm from London.

I think it's mineral crystal with some anti-scratch coating or something, and they call it Hardex/Hardlex (can't remember the exact name). As the bezel is level or slightly above the crystal, that gives some measure of protection to the crystal to stop it getting scratched.

Something Very Special For All You Panerai Afficinados...
Chronus replied to hanswurst's topic in General Discussion
Peeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee... -
I've already got one Great luminosity too, but the crystal is mineral.

It's the same as getting a rep - there are good quartz and mechanical watches cheaply available, but part of getting the rep, apart from the cheaper price, is for the name and the design, and maybe (for some) to be a member of the exclusive luxury "i can afford this" watch club and impress others etc etc.

It is the other way round for me, I have contacted Palpatine once for some advice on the old RWG and that was it, and finepics is doing PAM mods at the moment so I'll know when it comes back. Having met him on Friday, I know he's a great guy Besides, I know where he works Peeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee... Seriously, the backhanded shots at other modders are not nice, and I've noticed them in some of joe's posts previously as well as his "discussion" (old RWG) with The Zigmeister over billing for blowing dust off dials. To the casual observor, it looks like this is business for joe, while The Zigmeister seems to do it more for the love (hence the lower prices). With finepics/palpatine, it's great to have EU based people. Customs issues are irrelevant that way, and shipping back and forth can be much quicker too

Again I hope I'm wrong, but maybe he's waiting for his datewheel and then rip into you for taking so long etc etc.

Got 3 (three!) "who Has The Best Sub?" Pm's Today!
Chronus replied to By-Tor's topic in General Discussion
Sadly, not everyone is interested, or has the time. for the hunt. We are living in the MTV "I want it now" world... -
I hope I'm wrong, but maybe because you have got his watch.
-
Try timezone.com, I think they had lots of pictures from the Basel showwith the GMTs too.

Nice straps but the deployant strap you had on Friday was great, where to get that from with deployant?
