  1. Here's an idea to knock this over it's head. Someone (moderator or interested member?) could make a new thread (and continuously update it) called, for example, "Information on the best R*l*x Submariner" and put in links to all the relevant threads, with a short description. eg. Review of Joshua's Asian movement $100 sub, 04-June-2006; xxxx's guide to R*l*x submariners; xxxx's guide to R*l*x replica in general; etc. This way access for a newbie to all the posts will be easily found in one place with no need to ask another member. A thread like this could also be pinned at the top on selected boards, like this General Discussion board that will get that question a lot otherwise. Obviously it should be pinned in the relevant places such as R*l*x picture subforum and so on. This could also similarly be done for Best Omega Planet Ocean, Panerai Daylight, R*l*x vintage etc and contain links to guides and reviews. PS. I don't volunteer... it's just a suggestion, I have enough problems elsewhere already
  2. I don't think this is directed at me, but I never registered on RWI. Everytime I tried - when the new boards were coming into existence - their site seemed down, so in the end I never bothered and stuck to this one. I joined TRC but have rarely looked outside the dealers' sections (ie. luckyyy now that most are here too).
  3. I think this is from the dealers as they know there is no quality control, and no testing of water-resistance. If they said it was water-resistant without having tested it, chances are they may be replacing a few watches that leaked, losing money in the process.
  4. If your name was Ruud van Nistelrooy, I'd say, "Why the long face?"
  5. I'd planned to go see one on her 23rd birthday in July... but I'm off on a stag (bachelor's) party during that time. She was disappointed but said I could stay with her another time
  6. Ditto... Please tell us who and why.
  7. On a non-PAM note, I would havel liked to have seen the Roadster, I may get one of those someday... nice watch ? It's definitely different
  8. Get a 127, 217 or 187 Peeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee...
  9. Maybe I'll go for a titanium PAM for watersports Light, as well as strong and durable. Maybe a cheap silix Asian movement version of the 177H perhaps, maybe even a relume. Or it may be cheaper to get a second PAM036 for water on a rubber strap Damn, it always comes back to PAMs!
  10. For those that don't know what this is about, Na bame thalassa is Greek for let's (we) go to the sea. And no, I don't speak Greek, it's one of the few thinks I can say considering I grew up with Greek Cypriots around here. Na bame speedy
  11. Is there a way to increase water-resistance if a rep has none, like Craytonic's? Perhaps greasing o-rings and screwing down the caseback properly is a start?
  12. If I make it there in a few months time and you are all meeting up, it would be great to join you All I know are a couple of women there.
  13. Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo...
  14. If you can still get them in a few months time I will probably be interested.
  15. Here is an interesting read on how the case for the AP Royal Oak is made. If the rep manufacturers make it in a similar (albeit cheaper) fashion, then it's possible that these could be water-resistant, at least for swimming. http://www.timezone.com/library/horologium...670172488072079
  16. There are some decent aftermarket sellers of bracelets and bands. You may want to look into those. Some of them don't have the r*l*x logo, so you could just sitch the clasp to make it fit.
  17. I'm thinking of getting a rep that can be made (or is) water-resistant to use for swimming and/or gym. I'm thinking along the lines of the ubiquitous (not the guy) sub or other ral*x model, perhaps a titanium Breitling or Panerai. When I first came into the forums it was all r*l*x on my mind, got two, and then it's PAM fever along with some others (IWC, FM, AP, and always into Breitling and Omega from before RWG), so a r*l*x for swimming wouldn't be too bad. There are 1:1 subs coming out so I was wondering if these could be made water-resistant for swimming, showering, jacuzzis, saunas. I know a lot of the dealers will say a rep is a rep, apart from luckyyy who says his MBWs are waterproof. I know that Panerai reps are well made and would likely be water-resistant. Having looked at how a genuine AP Royal Oak is made, it's possible the reps could be just as effective if made in a similar fashion. edit: I'm not considering chronos for this... too many ways for them to leak or lose water-resistance over time. A nice simple watch with at most day/date functions. Any thoughts or suggestions ?
  18. By the way panerailord (and V!) does this make sense? Na bame (ba-meh) thalassa Not with reps we won't Peeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee...
  19. Yes but you can see the dial on his pictures. The relume I can't show you, I don't think anyone took any pics of it!
  20. The PVD was PAM028. Hobnail dial. Just go to Joshua's site and you can see it. http://perfect-clones.com/product_info.php...products_id=445
