  1. Hi guys

So a few weeks ago I asked Francisco to install the new Hublot Date Wheel into my old SS BB, along with moding the rotor and fixing a broken chronograph.

He did a great job and I am over the moon.

I should also mention that whilst moding the rotor we noticed that it was one of the printed rotors with the bold font. To cut a long story short Francisco made some decals up and replaced the "H" stamp on the bridge as well as the text on the rotor...

Have a look at the pics of the new date wheel and decals!

New date wheel installed from 2 Geeks...

    Rotor moded. Regulator fitted etc...

That is not an engraved rotor. That is a decal!

Like I said, I'm over the moon. So much so that I'll be getting the same done to my Ice bang.

    Thanks for looking

  2. Hi guys

Hope you can help on this one...

I'm not really a PAM guy but I really like the look of the Daylight. I have spent a few hours surfing through the forum and have taken on board a LOT of info.

I am ready to buy one but I want to try and get the best version I can. I have seen a lot of debate between the 196 and 250, and the difference in dials and so on...

I think I'm leaning toward the 250 at the moment.

Can anyone point me in the right direction regarding dealer and price as my head is spinning and I can't see the wood through the trees anymore

    :)

I'd really appreciate som expert PAM advice.

    Thanks

  3. Hi guys

I know the DSD is pretty 'topical' at the moment, especially with Eurotimez, the long waits and the 'quality' of the rep etc etc

In the middle of all of this I am about to pull the trigger on one but before I do (not being a massive Rolex guy) I was wondering if anyone could point me towards the best version out there (if there even is one)...

I am a worried by what I am hearing about Eurotimez, and they would have been my first choice, but now I'm not sure...

What about Andrew's version from the Noob factory - anyone have this one? Good or bad?

    Any help is much appreciated

    Have a good weekend

    Thanks

  4. Hi all

So a few months ago my strap broke on my HBB SS and it fell on the floor. Thought I'd gotten away with it but no such luck. Yesterday the chrono froze and there is something "rattling" in there :(

Can anyone recommend someone in Europe that is able to repair, service and then mod a 7750 (have just bought a Hublot date wheel that I want fitted as well)

I am based in Spain at the moment

    Thanks guys!!!!

  5. Okay. Thanks for the heads up!!

Re the PVD - no idea why they say it isn't coated, maybe just to sell it? It is a shade or two darker though, even when you polish the coating off...

Do you know what Hont lists the bezel as? Does it have a name or reference number that I can use when contacting him?

    Can you remember the price?

    Thanks once again...

  6. By 'safer bet' I am just thinking longevity...

The V1's have the 28,000 high beat movement (which is closer to the gen), they are also full ceramic rather than PVD coated so there is less surface area to scratch (PVD does scratch), the 'lite' versions are not ceramic and have no AR and the low beat 26,000 movement. They are still good reps though.

If I were going to choose a 'lite' version - I would go for the stainless steel model. Closest to gen!

    Good luck

  7. I'd go Ice Bang or Tempus (however see my recent post re Ice Bang bezel - worth getting a back up ceramic one just incase)

V1 are the best IMO, the full ceramic is great (no scratch issues like PVD - except bezel if not ceramic)

Best looking IMO - Ice bang

Safest bet - Tempus or all black full ceramic...

Try to see the BB King up close first before you buy - BIG watch!

  8. Thanks man, appreciate it.

I tried polishing it out, it did a pretty good job and I think if I took it further it would be okay. Unfortunately they are PVD coated - the coating came and the bezel is just stainless steel (although I have to admit that it is a shade or two darker than the regular ss bezel - as a silver lining I put it on my regular SS big bang and it looks pretty good).

    post-18710-127024750498_thumb.jpg

For now I have put a ceramic bezel on the ice bang, if I can't get the bezel sorted out then I'll fit a brushed ceramic and it'll just have to pass for a black Ice bang. However, like I said I have put some feelers out and may have a titanium bezel on the way. Failing that I'll try Hont.

    post-18710-127024753568_thumb.jpg

I tried Eurotimez (who I got the watch from) but it's been a week or so now and haven't heard a peep!

I agree that the V1 bezel is too dark. I saw a couple of gens back in Jan and the bezel did look lighter. I am hoping that titanium may be the way forward...

Do you have Hont's bezel? If so did it fit okay?

    Thanks once again...

  9. Hi guys

I am looking for a brushed ceramic bezel for on of my Big bangs. I want the bet version available and have been talking to a few of our trusted dealers.

From what I know there seems to be 2 (maybe 3) versions out there and the prices range from $50 - $200+. Obviously this is quite a difference.

Can anyone shed some light on this massive price differential, and perhaps suggest the best dealer for the job?

    Much appreciated

    Thanks

    A

  10. Usually this happens because the deployment clasp cuts into the strap at that point. I had one almost wear thru, but I caught it before it broke!

I just look at all of my HBB and they all have a "wear line" at about that position where the deployment rubs. This could even be a problem with the gens as I remember a HBB owner complaining how his strap had broken and that it cracked his ceramic bezel when the watch fell on the ground. :(

Chris should be able to set you up. You might want to get an extra as well when you order it...

Yeah, not a bad idea. Talk about design flaw!
