  1. Just a quick one...

Got out of my car last night. Was wearing my Hublot SS with textured strap.

Suddenly heard a 'clunk' and my wrist felt lighter.

Thought "oh [censored]" and looked down...

My hublot was laying on the floor in the rain and this had happened to the strap.....

God knows why but the strap "snapped" clean in half.

So, Hublot owners... be careful out there!

Thankfully, no real damage to the watch, just a few 'dings', nothing that shouldn't polish out.

Now I am in the market for a new textured strap. Anyone know of a decent supplier let me know.

    Thanks

  2. Thanks for the updates guys and the nice comments.

Your're right. I got my metals mixed up titanium and tantalum:). Thanks for the pointer on the date font. Have not seen a V2 or V3 rep (that I am aware of) do you know who stocks them and do they have an Ice bang? Would be good to see some pics so I know what to look for next time.

re - the watch stores. Both were pretty dark. One was in Vegas, a small store in Cesars, not the large Tourneau. The other was an official Hublot dealership. The bezels seemed really dark, as did the numbers on the face. Could be the 'lack' of lighting I guess.

One thing that seems to be for sure is the inconsistency in gen Hublot watches. Even the same models seem to vary a lot. Then again I kind of like that...

Oh, btw - Frankie - who modded your watch. Nice job?

  3. Okay chaps

    Here's a question.

The gen BR02 chronograph has hexagonal 'holes' in the chrono pushers. The rep doesn't. Annoying isn't it.

So, anyone know why this hasn't been repped?

And.... anyone know how to mod the rep to mimic the gen? Can it be done?

  4. Hi guys

So, its been a year since I joined RWG and I initially stumbled across the site in my search for a Hublot Ice bang. My research led me through the forum and I asked a lot of questions and got a lot of answers. About 5 super reps later and here we are... one year on.

I finally got my Ice bang (from Chris) in the end, just recently in fact.

I was in Vegas the other week and I tried on the original with the Tungsten bezel (no teeth, smooth bezel) and I also managed to try on the titanium bezel version, which is the version I have (and to my knowledge the only one available from the dealers, unless you opt for the

  5. Nice piece. I did exactly the same thing. Ice bang with a spare polished ceramic bezel. Looks great.

Hublot made a limited run of a piece called the Black Ice bang. They apparently made only 30 pieces for the Japanese market.

Excuse the massive link but you can view it below. Also if you google Black Ice Bang it gets a few hits. Mostly in Japanese though.

How's your PVD clasp holding up? Mine scratched on the 1st bloody day!

  6. Im also interested in buying this watch, who has the best rep.

    Thanks

I recently acquired a full ceramic Ice Bang from Chris at Euro times. Great copy, one of the best I have ever seen. No problems, runs great. Fantastic power reserve as well. I assume the all blacks would be from the same factory too. In which case I would recommend Euro Times.

  7. Hey

I have the BR02 chronograph and it's close if you ask me.

From what I can tell the flaws are:-

    1) Triangular lume marker at the top of the dial is not as 'clean' as the gen.

    2) Dial color is not as deep black as the gen (this could be the AR though)

    3) This is the big one for me.... the chrono pushers have flat polished ends whereas the gen have hexagonal holes cut into them

    4) I may be nuts but the rep looks a little smaller to me. Not as 'long' as the gen. I was looking at one in an AD the other day and it looked bigger. Mind you my one is on the nylon strap which alters the look a lot.

    5) According to my dealer it is splash proof and not water proof. Which pisses me off a bit given the fact that it is a DIVING watch. As in diving in the WATER and not what seems to be a prerequisite for any football player in the EPL:)

    6) Lume. Not as good out of the box.

Oh and while I'm at it.... anyone know where you can get a case for the BR02. You can buy one from Pelican but it's not the same?

Put it this way. You'd have to know the gen really well to spot the rep. The big tell is the chrono pushers (if anyone knows a fix for this I'm all ears:)

  8. Hey all

I am thinking about buying another AP ROO black theme. The last one I had caused me a lot of grief and I eventually fell out of love with it and let it go to a new (good) home for mods etc...

I had major problems with the secs @ 12. DOA and then lots of $ to fix it.

Any suggestions on who would be a better dealer to buy my next ROO from? - Ie good reliable QC etc.

    Thanks guys

  9. Hi

Just heard back from Precious time regarding the water proofing of my new BR02 chrono. Apparently it's "not for swimming in" and is only "splash proof". Other sites state that the same watch is water resistant to over 50m?

Looking at it I can't see that it would be water proof but the original sure is.

Anyone know where I can get it water proofed? Is this possible?

    Thanks

  10. Hey all

Anyone dealt with hont shipping to the EU via DHL?

    Is this a risky route?

I can't seem to beat his prices anywhere and although I'd prefer an EU based dealer we are talking a serious amount of money saved! Well over 100GBP

    Appreciate any advice...

    Thanks

  11. Saw the PM. Replied....

Regarding the ceramic bezel.... does that not then take the watch into the world of fantasy reps and away from being a rep of the original. I understand that the color of the PVD bezel is pretty close to the gen. What about the titanium bezels on the market? Are they close? Anyone know?

I like the idea of ceramic too but Hublot don't make an ice bang like that or do they?

  12. Hi guys

Am about to pull the trigger on a HBB. Either Ice Bang full ceramic or Tempus full ceramic.

before I do though I have a serious concern about the life of the PVD bezel on the ice bang. Every watch I have has a mark or scratch at some point on the bezel. How does the PVD coating hold up to this. Is it durable or is it better to avoid and stick with steel or ceramic?

Anyone have an Ice bang and experience of this?

    Thanks chaps
