  1. Sorry there are quite a few gens in this list: Daily Beater : Black PO Dress Watch : Aqua Terra / Conquistador / Grand Seiko GMT / Cartier Rotonde (can't find it anymore though) Smart Casual : Tag Heuer Link / Aquaracer / Submariner / Roadster / Tambour Diving / any PAM Sporty : AP ROO / Orange PO / GP SeaHawk / MarineMaster (300 or 600) Vintage : Blancpain Fifty Fathoms I would like to add 1 category: Travel watch. And my choice would go to GP ww.tc (sorry a gen again... I could find no good rep of world time watches! or can anybody give me a feedback on the Vulcain Cricket GMT?) And another one : Special / Fantasy watch ? GG Fantasy Mickey... (not much choice of reps in this category)
  2. You're right, this LV is awsome... I asked our dealers whether they could source the men's model but got no reply... But I wouldn't buy from discountedreplicas either as it is a quartz. Correct me if I'm wrong: LV does not produce this model in quartz version right? There used to be one for sale at cqout.com. It was the 40mm model (not 44mm). I can't find it anymore but here is the link to the closed auction: http://www.cqout.co.uk/c_item.asp?id=2176453. That's where tonton2000 got his. If you find anything pls let me know!
  3. I don't know much about AP but I'm getting more and more interested in AP ROO. But I'm wondering if the quartz models are fantasy or not? http://www.ttwristwatch.com/index.php?main...products_id=545 What's your feedback on these? How's the quality, is it close to the gen? Thks tag
  4. Here you are: Pulsar LED replicas ! http://led-watch.com/space.htm I've bought one and it's really good. Here is a short review of this product: http://www.wristwatchreview.com/2005/09/25...pace-led-watch/ Here is another type of LED (not a Pulsar look-alike though): http://ledwatchstop.com/store/index.php And Fossil's: http://www.fossil.com/jump.jsp?itemType=PR...mp;itemID=25164 cheers!
  5. nautilus is the best PP ever. still, i wonder if it's worth it. but can we compare it to the AP RO? i'm not sure...
  6. I'm going to Baselworld '07. Does anybody give me some tips about getting free invitation from exhibitor? thx
  7. My choice : Seiko Marine Master 300M (a bit off your budget tough) Oris TT1 Divers Titan Chronograph Oris TT1 Meistertaucher Regulateur Omega Aqua Terra (quartz) Omega SMP Black (quartz) Tag Heuer Aquaracer (quartz) Tudor Prince Date Chrono How about : Blancpain Fifty Fathoms (vintage) Breitling SOS Eterna Kontiki Mido Ocean Star Commander (70's style; about $500)
  8. I guess Omega is using ebauches... But Hayek decided to stop selling ebauches... Could that be a reason for having all movements in-house?
  9. The standard PO doesn't have this logo+globe feature on the caseback, right??
  10. I would like to get this tourbillon that has been noticed by several members here already: (Found it here: http://cgi.ebay.fr/44mm-Davis-FLYING-Tourb...QQcmdZViewItem) It exists in black as well: As you know, its design is a copy of the SeaHawk tourbillon: Does it look good to you? Actually I would have prefered the tourbillon to look that one but... square cases are not for me. SO: It was confirmed that it is a real tourbillon. Since it's a bit pricey I'm still wondering if it's a good buy: - Will I still like its design after receiving it - Will it work !! I made a research and found that some of you do have experience in such movements. I read that there has been a 2nd and a 3rd gen, that Millionsmart or Seagull are manufacturing these chinese tourbis, etc. But tourbillons are difficult to execute, so I guess it's risky to get one in an unbranded watch from china. So my question is: - Is that a 2nd or 3rd gen? - Can you guess who is the producer? - Do you believe it is reasonably reliable? - Have you had such a movement and how long did it last? Thanks for your feedback.
  11. This poll has been going on for too long. Should be closed. We now know what should be repped (Aquatimer of course). The problem is that some models have been added late (Aquatimer chrono): they could have won but members are not going to log on this topic and check what they have not voted for already for ever.... So now, it's up to the watchmaker ! Or are volumes too low? I regret that the SeaHawk did not pass the exam though.....
  12. I fully agree. I've got the Formula1 gen, but Aquaracer is over $1000 so if there is a decent rep around... well....
  13. Customs are trained to read people, not watches. Like someone said but in other words: Do forget that you are wearing reps and you'll become invisible to them. Try to avoid them and they'll notice you. If they check on you, you'll be surprise they asking for papers. Nobody think of travlling with his/her watch papers, unless their watches are reps!
  14. What I like in this story is that it demonstrates that there exist plenty of cool, high quality genuine watches outside the luxury industry, waiting to get public's attention. Like Panerai years ago, these watches brands have as many arguments as the most famous brands to reach the top: Poljot, Hamilton, Marathon, etc. They just did not use them yet. What I like doing is to propect for such watches. I don't care about the brand, I just care about the watch.

    Ttk

Hi everybody, Is anybody in touch with TTK these days? I've been trying to buy one of his watches but don't get any answer, even though I've followed the script. Thanks for your feedback
  16. Great legendary watch, isn't it? You can have it on the bay for less than $1000. I'm not expert but I'd believe they're gen...
  17. Shouldn't we organize primaries for selecting future reps? ha ha
  18. Now Chinese are producing cheap tourbillons but... are these real?? Specially the one at $10. Can't find information on the brands: Alfred Davis, Nostarus, SamsonWatchCo... Does anybody have an experience on chinese tourbillons? http://cgi.ebay.fr/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewIt...p;rd=1&rd=1 now at $10, 4 days to go http://cgi.ebay.fr/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewIt...p;rd=1&rd=1 now at $405 http://cgi.ebay.fr/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewIt...p;rd=1&rd=1 now at $1200 tx...
  19. I agree with you Richard. Its an unique & exciting opportunity. But from my perspective, your topic has been very successful and the SeaHawk is getting a lot of attention (already 42 votes). Even though numbers are sleepy, should we consider they'll reflect the potential of the watch? If it is marketed correctly, I believe it will (as well as the Blancpain, the Aquatimer and the Chopard) sell well, very well... And also, I find tons of reps, which are... well, I'm just wondering who the hell would be interested. So really, there is a real potential in repping the SeaHawk, even in the Blancpain which received only 5 votes. Because if I were allowed to vote several times, I would have voted for all 4 divers. And I will definitely purchase them, if quality is good (ETA, close to gen) and price moderate (under $300). So... Will Jay agree on a deal?
  20. Come on, buy a gen! There are so many watches to replicate... shouldn't we focus on $2000+ watches?
  21. Seeing that my Louis Vuitton Diving will not get to the voting stage, here is my final choice: -Girard Perregaux Sea Hawk II BMW Oracle Racing -Blancpain Fifty Fathoms 50th anniversary -IWC Aquatimer Minute Memory -Chopard Pro One GMT -Eterna KonTiki Diver 2006 (if not feasable: the Four Hands) -JL Amvox 1 (not sure about the movt specs)
  22. I disagree. I didn't choose LV for its brand. Ok, I agree: I would prefer if it were from another house, with some watchmaking clout or with a more sporty image... But the watch is just gorgeous. Tiffany is not bad, I like Chanel style also... I don't care of the brand. If a timex looks good to me, I'll get it. Unfortunatly, most low brand watches are plainly ugly, and many luxury watches are gorgeous... But why paying $3000 for an ETA powered thing??? That's why I have an interest in reps.
  23. I'm looking for an Omega Dynamic. I found some of them on the bay... but would like to check if they are gens. Does anybody have an idea? Here are some examples: http://cgi.ebay.fr/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewIt...p;rd=1&rd=1 http://cgi.ebay.fr/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewIt...p;rd=1&rd=1 http://cgi.ebay.fr/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewIt...p;rd=1&rd=1
  24. Or this: Or the JL Amvox: or the Master Compressor geographic posted earlier... Or that DeVille: Omega Tonneau: One of these ones: May be hard to replicate: Or: I would agree with one of these also: Oops, I didn't check to movement specs...
  25. How about THIS: ... in SS version of course...
