  1. My boss wears a nice Master Hometime. I made a compliment and expected to start a watch enthousiasts' conversation. Instead, he replied: "Having had only digital display watches so far, I had a hard time reading the time at teh beginning. But this one is nice, and it displays a second time zone, see...". So he jumped from a $20 casio to a $6000 JL without catching the WIS virus... I wish I could exchange his JL with a quartz GMT!...
  2. I would strongly recommend you a black SS submariner date. It's sporty, classy, large but not masculine... Have no pick to show but have seen it several times in real, looks gorgeous!
  3. Why don't you report this as a fake instead of posting it here.
  4. Good post Marv1n ! Good subject for a debate ! RWG is also about horology, not only about rep despite what some noobs think... Too bad to see so many of these nasty posts!
  5. My theory is that a big wtach makes the fit look thinner than it is. So usually it does not look good on a man, unless he has thick wrists... BUT it looks great on a woman's !!! Have you seen a pretty woman wearing a submariner or a panerai? Very sexy. Makes her look thinner, taller and... distinctive. Just MHO. EDIT: a thick & short woman should wear a small watch of course. A tall & thin woman should try a men's watch. It's a question of balance...
  6. I cannot answer the question as I have not checked Shumachers from each dealer. Maybe someone is selling a better rep, but from what I see from Trusty or Joshua, the Shumacher model is badly replicated. Subdial spacing issue as always, but also date window and dial: you'll be easily get caught... Omega is a popular brand...
  7. Apart from movies like 007 were watches are prominent do you think watches are selected by the director or just chosen by the actors (as long as it fits with the character)? Would a director choose a rep on purpose? I surprised to see some actors sporting reps. I wonder why Rolex hasn't sued them already. Maybe that's because they do free publicity for the brand, most people (incl. myself) being unable to distinguish it from a gen... Or because they may do business with that actor one day...
  8. Seiko made quartz clocks with 4 ticks a second. Can't name the model. Since it's a clock I guess you'll answer "That doesn't count" but still.
  9. Seiko's Spring Drive : 32,768 ticks per seconds ! This is the frequency of the crystal oscillator that controls the second hand... the glide wheel makes 28.800 turns an hour. SO I've been wondering: why don't rep makers produce quartz with sweeping second hands? Is there a technical issue (shouldn't be I guess)? A rep is mainly about outside appearance, so having such a quartz would solve the reliability & time keeping issues while allowing accuracy with the genuine... Just a thought.
  10. ubi, why don't you sell such modded daytonas instead of tempting all of us !!!!! how much?
  11. Either I buy the gen or the rep. No "test drive" for me. Here is why : - Either the rep is shity and does not represent the gen well. It's the case of my Master Control rep, which looks so crapy that I don't even wear it. What a waste, even if it cost less than $100. But still I would get the gen if I could (I tried it at an AD but its over 4000 € and not on my priority list - Or the rep is so good that... I would regret spending for the rep !! The gen I buy shall make sense though: not or badly replicated; have something valuable inside... best exemple is Zenith (their EL Primero is a marvel and they are not replicated); a gen Moonwatch is also really worth it imho; etc.
  12. Andrew sells 2 versions. For both he advertises 'The best rolesium dial' and 'Thick hour hand like genuine'. I own the $188 YM. I don't one whether it is the best YM dial or not but it looks definitely like [censored]. Also, the hour hand (which you cannot see on the web site's pics since it is hidden by the minute hand) is very thin. It looks a bit like the rep in kjm's comparison : On top of that, there were a fingerprint under the glass on mine. Andrew didn't want to hear about that. EDIT: Well after seeing other comparisons I think I've been unfair with TWG's YM. Here is a real pic. What do you think?
  13. Anybody got a Corum from Trusty (or from anybody else)? I love Corum style but it's hard to figure the quality from the pics. Also, they have asian movements. Wondering if the whole thing could be of lower quality than if they had an ETA... Shall I extend my "request for feedback" to Gérald Genta of TT or to the DeWitt and Vulcain of Joshua?
  14. The whole thing is... unbelievable. 2 questions: 1. How did they find out that you had a brand new watch (in your bag or at your wrist)? Does everybody (even Timex owners) travels with its watch papers then? I never do. 2. Why do they care? You're not going to launch a busines out of 1 watch. And you're not supposed to pay taxes of everything you buy overseas...
  15. No you're not. Everything: bezel, dial, glass... even the brand ! And the name : Chronometer Tourmatic, what's that?! You have to pay me to wear it. Anyway I've never been interested in tourbillons so...
  16. Looks like the GoReplica and other sites that pretend to sell the highest quality reps on the web but are called scammers in this forum. Small pics, lots of text, grading, high price... I've never been able to check these watches' quality in real. Does anyone have an idea?
  17. Like Pugwash: Black PO with Orange numbers. You can wear it with a suit or casual shirt. Orange numbers gives it a special look. I've been trying POs for 6 months. I first fell in love with orange bezel, then switched to black bezel then chose the black w orange numbers. Ready to get the gen.
  18. Titan black faces are available. Check out FOOF: http://www.friendsoforis.com/board.php Their prices are great & service's the best.
  19. I was planning to get a genuine (for the movement etc.) but good reps makes me hesitating...!!!
  20. Joshua, Bonnus is not a common name in France. Do you have his address? I may be able to find his phone number etc. tag
  21. No need to translate. The fact he uses french shows that he is in a mood to scam & play around (if he didn't speak english how could he order). Could all these scammers be "genuine afficionados"? I mean, people who are fan of a watchmaker brand(s) so much that they hate reps, considering reps harm their beloved genuine? Just a thought. Through internet, hard to control who is who. RWG/TRC/other sites should organize a feedback system like eBay's.
  22. The difference is, women need to be serviced more frequently than once every 4-5 years...
