  1. Seafoam,

Since I know where you live-- there is an AD "at the mall" that has these in stock. Pop in and try one on. (Just don't wear a rep when you go ;-) ).

The watch is a bit thinner than the big CG PAM's-- so it evens things out and has a smaller presence IMHO.

    HTH,

  2. I guess I see the terms "Ultimate" being thrown around. I wonder if the quality has really gone up. I mean I'm seeing that they are trying to do the mods we do before we buy them. But it seems when they try to add double AR and such we still need to send it off to Chief to be re AR'd or they add lume but we still have to send it to Watchdog. Is their attempts at added benefits just making it more expensive in the long run. The initial cost is driven up but then we have to fix what they try to do. Is my rambling making sense?

I agree with this. I almost wish they offered a "barebones" version, or even a "kit" version. Personally, I would love to see see super/ultimate rep'd cases & crystals that TRULY accespt genuine parts.

At a minimum a non-AR version at a lesser price since Chief is hard to beat.

  3. Obviously we have a limited resources, but perhaps as a community we can figure out a way to work smarter.

There is a lot of talent here. Although, we have masters like Ziggy, who can do everything, perhaps we need more people specializing, and it becomes a win-win. When you need new tires for your car, you can go to the dealer, or to a shop that just sells and specializes in tires.

    For example, if you break things down;

Movements (simple out of the box, regular maint., clean & regulate)

    Movement modifications, transplants for Frankens.

    Lume

    Case Modifications

    Dial Modifications

    AR

    etc...

Let's just say, for example, I became a wiz at just Movement Maint. I make it known, and thus provide ONE specific service-- clean, oil, and regulate. Meanwhile, (insert user name here) is king of case mods like drilling lug holes, replaceing tubes, crown guards, etc. (insert user name here) is a Lume Guru, and of course "Chief" is already the AR king.

It becomes a money maker for those interested in a little side work.

This may actually be happening, just not very well known. I guess it becomes a case of how motivated people are to provide a service and make it public.

    Just some random thoughts.
