This new video makes me want one. This is "The Sea-Dweller" IMHO. Rolex-- get a clue! All Rolex needs to do is change the plots to dots, and add Mercedes hands.

That is definitely on the short list!

By the way will there be ppl selling reps as gens on VRF? I would never be able to tell... Been considering buying fully modded franken 1680 or 1665 with gen movt as well...
VRF is safer than eBay or average Forum. Every post is moderated before listed, making it hard for reps to slip through. Still, do your homework.

Rolex jumped the shark in 2010. (Tudor designers to the rescue perhaps)
-
The Nanuq edition will include the Chainsaw. The Ronin edition will include a flip-out Samurai Sword.

on the WR test. That is twice it passed.
Good to know the combo of the following works in the WR department:
Gen Service Crystal
MBW Case (early version)
Gen Tube w/Loctite #290
Gen Crown
Rubber seal installed "top side" (crystal ring side)
and all other new seals w/proper silicon lube.

I do like them. I also agree, the Tudor designers are kicking the Rolex designers ass from an appearance perspective.
Looking at the Pelagos though, something was nagging at me.... Where have I seen that "chapter ring / recessed indicie" before? Hmmm
Chapter ring cut-outs for plots...
Even the Red insert on the Black Bay reminds of an "Orient Mako". Similarly on the Rolex side the new Exp II with it's super Maxi style has a Seiko esq feel to it. I swear Rolex/Tudor either has x-Seiko designers on staff or something...
Still, the Pelagos makes the DSSD look like a pile of steaming crap. That should be the base for a new Rolex Sea-Dweller IMHO.

Another clever, thought out component, is the lack of lume over the 24hr zone so you can see thru the hands, then lume at the the top.
So close Rolex... I am with LHOOQ. We need a Tool Version.
My vision of a GMT-Master III:
A modification to the bezel to allow it to disengage "setting functions" and allow for Traditional (Pepsi ) Bezel operation, and add another 24hr traditional hand, could give us a watch with the following functions:
- Local Time (12hr)
- Time Zone 2 (Inner 24 Hour wheel)
- Time Zone 3 AM/PM (traditional 24hr hand and outer bezel) (If 24 hour function like 1575-GMT)
- Time Zone 4 (See Time Zone 3) (If 24 hour function like 3135-GMT)
- Perpetual Calendar
- Month View
But, alas, it would probably be a monster/maxi and too busy/complicated...
Anyone with mad photo shop skills???

Clarks are good, but if you over torque any tube, it will snap off.
The trick is to tighten to a positive STOP, then tighten down about an 1/8th of a turn more. (I usually tighten to STOP then to an imaginary :08 minute mark).

Clarks FTW.
Clarks with Loctite #290 = never a leak, crown operates like Gen.
Based on price, GEN is overrated for a "tube" that no one ever sees.

Wow! Very cool!
Nice vintage Lume match..

Great thread, great photos, great idea...!
Hmmm, if this RWG Blog concept catches on, it could make for a fun VIP/Platinum "Sub Forum - RWG Memeber Blog's".

This is one of the better, straight and to the point guides. Thanks for sharing.

Works for me 100% of the time on the iPad using Safari.
In the past, there was an IP.Board setting regarding using the advanced editor that would cause you to crash when responding. But, I no longer see that IP.Board setting, nor have I crashed since the last forum upgrade.

Looks good. A Nipple 1675 is on my future build list as well.
If you need a crystal PM me. I have quite a collection of GEN 116 and Clark's in various degrees of used. Gratis.
