  1. totally sucks the recent problems some of ourt dealers are exeriencing with paypal, customs and general transactions with newbies or spoiled brat so called long time members... :-( makes me sad that they have to go through these issues because of incompetence. we all love this hobby but have you noticed how the membership numbers have JUMPED over the last 6 months on all the boards?? i think many newbies are here that are not at all interested in watches and horology but are only after 'PERFECT.... sub, breitling, tag etc....' i posted a message a few weeks ago entitled 'advice to all newbies' some flamed me for using caps too much.. but i was trying to make a point.. if you here for a holy grail watch.. save up your money, charge it, or build it with parts yourself, but no matter what you choose it will cost dearly either in time or money. the word is startling to get out and many are also inviting or telling others about our great little hobby home.. yes we all at SOME POINT started with nothing or had to learn about the comunity but some here are only after a HOLY GRAIL watch and will [censored] and complain no matter what happens with the item. these are the kind of people that can hurt us and hurt our trusted dealers.. within the last month EL, PT, Trusty, REG have all have either customs issues with RETURNED watches that included unspeakable documentation or PAYPAL issues.. THESE are 'TRUSTED DEALERS' so if you have a issue politely ask or inform or WORK IT OUT with the 'trusted dealer' they are here to assist and provide... NOT SCAM. yes they are running a business and are making money but many of them do this because they enjoy horiculture and the community and they have other jobs or business to support their families. please lets all be a little more careful with who we invite, and encourage all the new ones to post and learn about this enjoyable hobby so as to be better informed, but also to better weed out the riffraff. please follow up with thoughts and comments by posting a reply below. josh
  2. @TWG - i am sorry you have to go through with this member. especially for him not removing the paypal block AFTER you refund all his $$$. as a business owner i feelyour pain.. our organization prides itself oncustomer service and doing whatever we can to make the customer happy (paying customer.. that is) HEY dumb ass if you reading this thread REMOVE THE PAYPAL dispute! I have personally made several purchases from TWG and he has been a STELLAR DEALER, one that has won my respect and business. Thank you Andrew, for answering my emails and placing my orders in a secure and timely manner. josh :-)
  3. very nice gen... thanks for the pics.. yup check out the reps end links -cheaper than the navi end links -is the lug spacing diff requiring diff ends to be made or is it a step backward?? :-(
  4. pauls assistants are very pretty... have nice cars too.. :-) http://www.bestswiss-watches.com/index.php?cPath=110 looks like El would approve..
  5. i like paul and i hope the site is up real soon as i have money burning my pockets.. as with all reps their will be issues. i have had a quality control issue with EVERY dealer at one time. with paul pricing and wide selection i shop and will continue to shop... but i also shop the other dealers especially when it comes to the higher end reps. please paul i have another order to place... come up soon.. and not the 'bestswiss' site for the retail customers. josh
  6. glad to hear you are on the mend.. i have always enjoyed your posts and project postings.. hope all is well and continues to improve.. best wishes! j
  7. CHRONO WHITE avail and up on jos nana site! way to go bignasty
  8. hi all and welcome to the forum.. my advice to all newbies to this forum and to watch COLLECTING is this... FIRST find out what brought you to this AWESOME PLACE.. are you... a.)looking for a watch that LOOKS like a GENUINE high end watch to impress all your friends and workmates b.)looking for a less expensive alternative to a GENUINE HIGH END genuine BUT EXPECT GENUINE quality or exactness c.)interested in watches but know nothing about them; how they work, or what they cost, but would like to know more d.)collect watches and horiculture and have a long standing interest(some may say love affair) with watches if any of these apply you ARE at the right place! but beware.. you may have dissapointments! especially if you checked a or b. why? BECAUSE these are REPLICAS NOT the GENUINE ARTICLE. but you also may be PLEASENTLY surprised! Watches are fun and the quality out there today is BETTER THAN EVER. You cannot be a pretender or faker. You will not have fun here and you will have utter diaspointment... you can NOT as the say be a BALLER ON A BUDGET! PALEEZE PEOPLE!!! if you are here NO BALLING ON A BUDGET!!! you cannot sport a high end watch and drive a neon or tempo or FIAT. NO ONE WILL BUY THAT ATTITUDE or believe you anyway. If you checked a or b... BE CAREFULL.. but HAVE FUN! these are REPLICAS and as such they are NOT PERFECT and the quality control is minimal. do NOT invest $$$$ that you are not prepared to lose.. a REPLICA is ONLY SURE TO go DOWN in value! and it may break in 14 days 30 days or 18 months. If you checked a or b.. please spend ALOT of time reading the boards and educating yourself either here or at a QUALITY library or BOOKSTORE also. If you checked a or b.. the best solution for you if you are looking for ONLY A HOLY GRAIL WATCH is to buy the GENUINE(save or charge it) or if you checked a or b but c might also apply... BUILD THAT WATCH.. or have it custom made. Do this by starting with a excellent doner replica.. then add as many genuine parts as you can find: movement, case, strap, bracelet, dial, hands, bezel, pushers... note: be prepared to invest $$$ and time in this experience and more $$$ and more time. Again these are REPLICAS and the have flaws and they will also BREAK, sometimes even sooner than a GENUINE. If you are not prepared to spend $$$ and you also check a or b.. YOU WILL BE A SAD PERSON with much DISAPPOINTMENT. On a personal note: i have many replicas and i have some genuines (NOT NEARLY AS MUCH AS SOME HERE). I have NEVER had a HIGH END genuine though... however i could have more than ONE high end GENUINE for all the replicas that i have.. I have many replicas and many genuine parts, and also some genuines.. I could have MANY genuine TAGS or HAMILTONS etc. for all the replicas and gen parts that i have. The point being that if you are in the a or b group and you also want to "BALL ON A BUDGET" you have come to the wrong place because these are replicas that will never measure up to GENIUNE EXPECTATIONS. Please have fun and start educating yourself about watches and collecting and... WELCOME TO THE FORUM! please feel free to add any comments below.
  9. PANERAI pic in New York Post page21 (7-25-06)
  10. so today i recieved some goodies. 1. Genuine SECTOR day date.. hahahah you thought day date ROLLIE??? no way i'm not that old! anyway this was super inexpensive... boxes papers and warr. all included.. two day shipping cost me $2.95!!! super BLUE dial, rotating uni bezel, shiny and heavy too.. check out the lugs! attachex with allen head screws.. but get this... this is my forth SECTOR.. all have had SWISS MADE dials, i noticed that this one did not so i examined further..... MADE IN CHINA in small letters on the back of the BOX... JEEESH.. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA not even joking. asctually rhe QC is AWESOME and better than another SWISS MADE watch i recently recieved. 2. TT Submariner -the one with solid golden mid AND END links. eta 2836 powered. i like it but the band is LIGHT. also one screw broke in a link when i went to take out a link(any suggsts how to get this out?) and the clasp gold overlay is splitting away from the clasp-think a mall jeweler can fix? anyone want any other pics just ask and i will try and post, also PM me if you want to know the source of the items. josh
  11. @ exper -waiting for a 187 and GT mini too. :-)
  12. get pauls strap with deploy. then put in on a BOB, GENUINE or other, then sell or give away the leftovers.
  13. just recieved a bunch of goodies and birthday gifts from PAul... super fast shipping and NO CUSTOMS issues! anyway stay away from the Breitling leather strap on deployment. the Clasp is AWESOME but the strap SUCKS big time... super flimsy and feels like soft plastic. :-( may be worth it for the deploy clasp... just add a custom or gen strap to this!
  14. i think for the most part these reps come from the same factory. some may still have old stock with the "SWISS MADE" under VI which IS CORRECT for DUMONT DIAL but not for SANTOS. has been updated "SWISS MADE" location... SICHUAN just posted in dealers area.
  15. the catalog does have a straight on pic of the dial that is very high def. but may not be 1:1. also the DUMONT dial 'SWISS MADE is directly under the VI as opposed (to what we ALL already know) to the SANTOS where VI divides 'SWISS MADE'
  16. where ever the dials end up being sourced i just wanted to let say... IM AT LEAST IN FOR ONE or maybe even TWO. thank you in advance for all the efforts to source this and im sorry i don't have a valuable skill to contribute/volunteer for the project.. :-( all though i did just go to the AD this weekend and try on the gens... SANTOS DUMONT AND PASHA... picked up a GEN BOOK TOO... would any of the pics from the book work? also i notice that the SANTOS 100 dial and hand to dial ratio is a little different between the models and movments and CASES(SANTOS).
  17. in no way is the 2893 problematic. one of the best movements around. check the knowledge section for a recently posted movement review link.
  18. so it says RWX case but it is not? that has held me off since it was originally posted.. plus i know for a fact that many of pauls watches come from a diff factory after comparing IN PERSON some of the diff pams and rollies.to other dealers. i also see the aspirte sells the latest movement in incorrect casings for example a 177H with the movement would be clearly wrong w/ the 'G' movment... HEHEHEHEEE by now they must notice that it has not sold..?
  19. i'm in for one. let me know when the gmt version is avail. too. j
  20. written by a watchsmith. techinical articles on the every popular 2824 and 2892-A2 that are used in so many of the gens and also our high quality reps.. for all those that like technical reviews with pictures! pin or bookmark for future ref and reading. 2824: http://www.chronometrie.com/eta2824/eta2824.html 2892-A1: http://www.chronometrie.com/eta2892/eta2892.html j
  21. hi all: #1 navi. i just received. has stepped subdials- shouldn't the sub dials kinda FLOW into the face of the dial? #2 i'm gonna get a Bentley GT mini... which color is best? anyone have OPINIONS or EXPERIENCE? black, maroon, or blue? josh
  22. mine came today 0324/1000 after looking at it... the bezel is WAY OFF the pearl does not line up at 12 when the 15/30/45 markers are aligned!! or i align the pearl and the 15/30/45 markers are way OFF.. also the lugs are misaligned causing the screws for the strap to become stripped when you install them.. i know this cause i have tried several sets of screws.. the lug thread is ok its that the lugs are not aligned when from one to another. :-( and the CG is misaligned too.. the crown rubs the bottom of the CG aqnd the top has large space. :-(
  23. mine is 0324/1000. the crown/CG ratio is not perfect on mine. the gap between the CG and crown at top is over a 1mm spacing, and at the bottom of the CG the crown looks like it touches. :-)
  24. got my 187 TODAY, was here yesterday(sunday) but i was out... SERIAL NO. 0324 its big, shiny and heavy... i like.. rep is a rep. josh
  25. inducies look kinda flat or matte finish at first but in neils pic they look shiny/chome finish like gen... whats the finish on the inducies?? thanks, j
