is it the general concensus to go with the predecessor ETA movements.. the ones that have engravings but incorrect 'sword' shape and SN? thoughts? j

looks like this is the movement The Zigmeister is warning us about. just now being produced w/ CDG 'H' instead of 'G' 'PANERAI PANERAI'. lookagain at the pics. i recommend ELs 111H -incorrect appearing regulator but better quality movement. j

fa jones from paul. and a PO chrono quartz from trusty. lots of people knock the quartz chrono PO but i think it is more acurate then the auto AND it has lots of presence on the wrist.. LOTS! get the orange. =) it is super heavy and the movement is miyota so it will last and run strong. =) j

paul is a trusted dealer of mine. has not FAILED yet. i have ordered from every one on the boards and have in 80 watches recieved a junky one from each of the dealers. WU fees for me are only $14 each transaction. also paul has BY FAR BEEN the most consistent in terms of shipping SPEED!! never over 30days and mostly 1 week. EL is the next best with 4-5 days on IN STOCK and SPECIAL items only, longer w/ special requests. paul/wo-mart/aspire is AWESOME. j

hi yes i can say this is a very nice item plus eta to boot! at this price point i also gave some as gifts to my little cousins and nephews =) the pearl is the best part. i have had everyones sub and this pearl IMHO has been the best! j

hi all i have read several posts stating that 7753 (3/6/9) movements are no longer in production. but is it not true that many gens are still using this caliber in watches?? (breitling navi 3/6/9 for example) and also many of the ultra high end reps can be purchased with gen 7753 movements. (PAM196,250) so are all these movements sourced as NOS or are they still being made, or are they limited channel distribution? j

rep quartz = worth it. gen quartz = worth it up to a point. i have several 'SWISS MADE' quartz gens but they are low end <$1000 list and i even paid much less than that for any of them. so a rep quartz is worth it up to a point. at a certain $$$ point i would start looking for a automatic movement watch. lots of gens come with 7750, 2836 2892/3 for less than $1000usd. i have a rep quartz that listed for $595(Sector) picked it up for about $150usd NIB. and i know tag uses the same movment in some of their watches for >$1000usd. my 2c. j

how do you remove the very last breitling bracelet links?? i have navi and bentlet gt's and the lst link to remove does not remove? the one by the clasps.. either side. i remove the screw but nothing happens.. i'm gonna force it but i don't wanna scratch the bracelets.. =(

haha you guys are fighting for a holy grail watch that might not even exist.. and from an unknown vender/dealer. trusty (and jos) show up and say they can offer the same deal at the same price point! duh doesnt take a genius to know where to send you money. i have trustys and i just got Pauls.. guess whos was less $$$ also guess who has better customer service?? wanna save $$ go with paul.. wanna get the lastest scoop and a fast reply go with trusty. just my 2c =)

looks like crap. avoid this watch. get a MBW 1665/1680 and mod it. or get PAULS 'so called ultimate'. if you must get a gen get a SECTOR or TAG.

$180!!!! woowoo.. i just got mine from EL on friday and to be honest it is now one of my most favorite reps!! i LOVE it.. i had it on this weekend when i went shopping with my GF.. we stopped by a AD (rollie, cartier) and the sales lady loved it and got tons of compliments.. of corse i had to try on the santos 100 yet again.. man i love that watch and double checked the rehaults on the subs just to make shure my 1665 and 16610 and 16613 are within tolerances.. yup looked good maybe a little deeper but unless you do side by side or are a WIS then they are acceptable.. you notice diffs with the bentley GT from the gen?? what are the diffs. other than the day/date color and end links? enjoy the rep! oh yeah and at $180USD I WILL TAKE ONE IN EVERY DIAL COLOR! =)

get genuine straps. pickup jos or aspire(wo-mart) hee! breitling strap with deploy.. chuck the strap and install the deploy on a genuine breitling from the AD (130usd list $$) for the IWC get a genuine with a proper SS clasp or a high quality aftermarket.

i have been waiting for a nice black MONACO for awhile... however non chrono monacos can be had for less than 1500usd. so i will eventually get a non chrono monaco =) plus these have PLEXIglas so maybe 2200USD for the chrono is not smart because the first time it gets marked i would think of replacing it. j

tag MONACO non chrono. just no rep will ever be like this gen even though many have tried. very well know watch and instantly recognizable even to non WIS. or maybe the limited RWX manual chrono. =)

i don't like it anyway.. fugly watch.. i like the ParmFl. 'bugatti' way more -if we are talking about fanty super high end watches we would want. j

copy post of thead farther down: totally sucks the recent problems some of ourt dealers are exeriencing with paypal, customs and general transactions with newbies or spoiled brat so called long time members... :-( makes me sad that they have to go through these issues because of incompetence. we all love this hobby but have you noticed how the membership numbers have JUMPED over the last 6 months on all the boards?? i think many newbies are here that are not at all interested in watches and horology but are only after 'PERFECT.... sub, breitling, tag etc....' i posted a message a few weeks ago entitled 'advice to all newbies' some flamed me for using caps too much.. but i was trying to make a point.. if you here for a holy grail watch.. save up your money, charge it, or build it with parts yourself, but no matter what you choose it will cost dearly either in time or money. the word is startling to get out and many are also inviting or telling others about our great little hobby home.. yes we all at SOME POINT started with nothing or had to learn about the comunity but some here are only after a HOLY GRAIL watch and will [censored] and complain no matter what happens with the item. these are the kind of people that can hurt us and hurt our trusted dealers.. within the last month EL, PT, Trusty, REG have all have either customs issues with RETURNED watches that included unspeakable documentation or PAYPAL issues.. THESE are 'TRUSTED DEALERS' so if you have a issue politely ask or inform or WORK IT OUT with the 'trusted dealer' they are here to assist and provide... NOT SCAM. yes they are running a business and are making money but many of them do this because they enjoy horiculture and the community and they have other jobs or business to support their families. please lets all be a little more careful with who we invite, and encourage all the new ones to post and learn about this enjoyable hobby so as to be better informed, but also to better weed out the riffraff. josh
