Same plan here too

Is the 212 crystal different in size from the standard 35mm crystal of 44mm PAMs? Else, there are two sources on eBay, jimmyzfu and another. I am currently waiting for 3 crystals from the 2nd one.
-
Yes, I too recently did a search about the so-called Asian Auto 21J movement that is so common in many reps (I was aiming at PAMs though), and it turned out to be a rep of the Miyota 82xx movements.

ONLY 10 PIECES LEFT

I've been so busy on the cyclops thing that I am a little late in reading this, but donation sent and my best wishes for a happy b-day-after
-
Dish rubber gloves. Or that special case opener tool from ebay (50 USD, though).

29 pieces left (out of 100) after the first two days orders. Anyone interested is prayed to place his order ASAP. In order to avoid any possible anbiguousness -- and by stating in advance that I'll keep on replying messages in the same order as they arrive to me -- from now on I am going to follow these rules: Those who will pay within 24 hrs from my reply will be served according with the time of their order. Others will be served according with the time of their payment. Best, sss

Slow? Did you try Perfect-Clones, then?

I think that 125 is quite a new model on reps, and it still needs verify on whether black dial with silver subseconds meets members' taste... I did not even waste my time on voting, being I really disgusted by Italian politicians and voters.

Hoping that my poor English is not playing tricks on me right now, I'll reply in the assumption that you prefer 40 mm luminor. If so, you can't go better than on a 050. Almost undisguishable from the gen. No problems of a thin crown, poor date magnification, recessed pin, etc. Some minor concern about the asian 7750 movement inside, but if you ask for one of the 'new' 7750, then no problem on that side either. I got it as my first 'good' rep and I still am in love with it. Even if I got an 'old' 7750 so I had to have it seviced after just 1 week, it just needed good cleaning and oiling. After that, it is still running perfectly (6 months now), COSC precise, and waterproof 10 atm.

To anyone who already placed their pre-orders in the other post some weeks ago: if you still are interested, please follow the instructions in this post and PM me. That other list was unofficial, just for pre-orders. The real thing is this one. Thanks!

Chronus, sorry to say that we are unable to offer any discount being these already are at our base cost + shipping. I can't tell after they will go at their full price, but you can stay assured that no discount, if any, will rival the $10 saving that you get by ordering right now. @Rolex2112 (and anyone who already placed their orders) : PM reply sent. Thanks!

Nice find, thanks for sharing! Great look at mid-price (on several items at least), I would say.

that is the funniest thing I ever heard here!!! Ok, if so then: - Buy a hand remover tool, a hand setting tool, a 5x loupe, a 10x loupe, and pliers from ofrei. - Open the case by turning the caseback counterclockwise with dish rubber gloves on your hands. - Remove the rubber gloves from your hands. - Read The Zigmeister's post on how to remove the crown and to handle the movement. - Light a votive candle and cast some prays. - Place a line paper on the dial before removing the hands. - Use the removing tool only for the big hands (hours and minutes). - Use an edge and great care and patience to remove the small second hand. Use the edge as a lever, very close to the pinion, just a fraction of mm on any side of the hand, first one side then the other, repeat several times until the hand comes out. - Reinstall the new hands with the hand setting tool, or -- the cheap way -- with the pliers (not recommended). If you use the pliers, press them (their side, not their pin!) only on the part of the hand that is just around the hole and above the hand tube. - Reinstall the crown with very light hand. If you feel resistance, re-remove it and retry. Never apply too much pressure. - Ask for the watchsmith nearest to you and submit it your messed watch. or, alternatively: - Close the caseback again with the rubber gloves method. Bets wishes, :sss:

You are right, no doubt "Chinese 6" stands for "Chinese 6497" and "Chinese a" for "Chinese automatic". Exactly as also I supposed -- the increasing quality of asian movements. Thanks! :sss:

Chronus, kruzer00 and I are actually quite experienced about PVD and PR. The genuine you refer to, probably never existed. Cfr: http://www.paneristi.com/reference/vendome/powerres.html The 2893 is probably the best movement one can get (The Zigmeister said ). And, to me, it gives its best on PR. Both kruzer00 and I got our 028a models, and I can testimony that it is really great. We both are waiting for real PVD treatment by palpatine. With real PVD, a new crown, a new sapphire cyclops (incoming), AR treatment, and relume (that finepics already magistrally performed on my watch), I think it is going to be undistinguishable from the gen (you figure, it even has an egraved rotor under a non-see-trough caseback!). 027a is the same, and you don't even have to bother with a PVD coating. But sure, that hobnail dial on the 028 is a completely different thing... About 'PVD' on replicas. Noone knows for sure what it actually is. I think it is black-oxide. Someone argued it is anodyzed, but I feel it unlikely as it would imply that the case is made of aluminium and I don't think so. This 'rep' PVD is darker and shinier than the real thing. Anyway, it makes the case more scratch-resistant, even if to a lesser extent than real PVD. -

27a and 28a. Joshua and Aspire, as far as I know. Oh, my fellow and brother-in-waiting! -
Thanks for the infos, Chronus. True, I omitted to say I was speaking of PAMs (and expecially Luminors). How did you guess it? Thanks also for your interest, but I was not looking for anything in particular. Just browsing, I got struck from relative lacking of swiss movements in comparison with what I seemed to remember. By chance, do you also know what those 'chinese 6' and 'chinese a' do mean?
-
Some times ago Silixprime was Jay's and Angel's site for ETA movements, while Silixwatch was for asian ones. Now it seems that also on Silixprime 99% of movements are chinese, japanese, or russian. I wonder if this is because of the increasing quality of asian movements, or what. Anyway, it currently seems that one has to look somewhere else than Jay and Angel if he is seeking a swiss mvt... Anyone got hints about it?

Wow. Any similar news on 2893 in 027 and 028? Some (good) news likely coming soon about it... -
Believe me, I know very well your feelings... I am learning very similar lessons the hard way exactly these times, for far more than one hundred bucks... I am sure that davidsen will sort out your hand problem. He is a very nice, willing, and collaborative guy. And I am confident that you will end up with something you are fully happy with (why just 'relatively'? ).
-
I feel we should not encourage the use of the words "synthetic sapphire" for anything else than sapphire. Better we stick on it, else we are likely to end up with a bunch of unconsistent advertisements and we shall also be unable to dispute, in case.

You'd better let your watchsmith do it for you, 8o8. Tricky steps are: 1) Removing the crown. Not very difficult, but if you do it the wrong way you will mess a lot of tiny pieces inside the movement, that will require to have the movement opened too and not only the case. 2) Removing the hands. For the hands sitting on the central pinion you need a specific tool. For the small second hand you need great skill, care, and patience, or you will ruine both it and the dial. 3) Reinstalling the hands. I know little about it, as I never came to this point. I always had to go to my watchsmith after point 2) 4) Reinstalling the crown. See point 1).
-
It was 8o8, and we all just took part in the joke. No offence intended here, naturally.

Yes, I actually don't know why, but that gold hands thing grew in me since when I saw the Fiddy and Marina Militare. By coincidence, this very moment I received a PM from davidsen and he said that my hands are ready and he is going to ship them tomorrow. It also came to my mind that davidsen already is selling hands for the 6497, those that he advertised as "111 hands". In facts, 111 movement is 6497. You just needed to buy those hands from him instead of Fiddy hands.
