  1. Yes, the white C1 is a perfect complement to the blue dial, as well as the Ti case and the blue strap are.

I also love the light blue stitching.

And I wonder what it would be the effect of 80% C1 + 20% light blue lume (yummm...).

Definitely a great watch, congrats, I am even a little jealous! :thumbsupsmileyanim:

Is the caseback as good as everything else?

  2. sssurfer don't worry vbarrett will be upgraded, I will personally make sure of that. B)

    Ken

    Very good Ken, thanks!

In this case I just made my 2nd donation, registered to Patches. After all, my first pet when I was a child was a guinea pig, and my current dog's name is Patch... :)

  3. - Is it me, or does this Italian fella mispronounce Radiomir??? It's not Ray-dee-oh-meer, as he says it with his "British"-inflected accent, but RAH-dyo-MEER, I've always heard in Italy.

Yes. Really thanks to that (Italian? don't think so) guy for the movie, and to you for the link -- but his pronounce of 'radiomir' is definitely british-b(i)ased.

Link to perfect :D true Italian pronounce of 'radiomir' (as well as of 'luminor', 'officine panerai' and 'marina militare') in my signature.

  4. What?

32 out of 6352 registered members?!?

    I am ashamed.

Ready to make another donation if we are not at the needed sum, Admin. Just let me know.

I plan to make it under the vbarrett name though -- just to get sure that her VIP status will not get forgotten or delayed, by chance.

  5. If I were in your waters, I would take the best strap I can find in the inexpensive range (up to 45-50 USD) as a temporary measure, and I would reserve getting 'that' really gorgeous and expensive strap to the next occasion for a present to... ehm... myself.

If you are really left out of any money now, the straps that come with the Fiddies are not so bad after all.

Else, if you are able to find a $50 banknote hidden somewhere in your pouchs or bags, here is a decent $45 strap from DON:

Differently from the majority of the members here, I also feel black carbon fiber strap a beautiful complement to a Fiddy, you may see one here on a 203 (identical to a Fiddy in dimensions and shape). That straps costed less $30 from pstrapsusa, but it is veary cheap especially the stitching. If you are interested, probably DON's version ($45) is better.

Both DON's buffalo and carbon straps have off-white, not too obtrusive, stitching. If you don't like that stitching, its clear color allows you to customize it with markers like posted here.

  6. Did you order the 7750 model, or the Asian 21J model?

I have the Asian 21J and its lume is more than acceptable, one of the best out-of-the-box lume I ever saw on a rep.

Nothing comparable with superluminova, naturally, still a very decent lume.

Even better, its color in the daylight is really pleasant. I even decided not to have it relumed in fear of changing that color.

I heard that the lume on the 7750 model is quite alike, but so far I could not verify it with my own eyes.

  7. Hi V,

I am afraid that any 24mm strap would look pathetically undersized on a Fiddy.

30% of the beauty of a Fiddy is its 26/26 strap with a large pre-V buckle.

Even if you manage to find that adapter, my bet is that you will get bored of it and buy a 26mm strap within a week.

...But were you that girl who was dubious about wearing a 47mm watch? :D

  8. Really thanks for sharing this, reficul!

    Nice writeup, btw

And glad that your efforts paid back in the end.

This suggests that Davidsen's AR coat is much thougher than usual rep AR coat, possibly similar to chieftang's coat.

I missed whether the Autosol + sandpaper work also removed the scratches that you said.

If yes, then it is likely that those scratches were on the AR coat rather than on the sapphire.

Else, you just found a solution to polish sapphire and that would be astounding. :)

  9. Wow, I can't believe there's been so much discussion on this issue :D

What with the amount of people who modify their watches, I'd've expected opinions from all directions... Oh well :D

Oh well, as you insist on it, this is the most idle question I heard in a while. I would never guess it got a single reply. Our members are really good-hearted. :)

  10. Correcting the "1" in the "12" should not be too hard... just a steady hand and a tiny file...

As for the sapphire, I read that there are different (and differently expensive) ways to grow a synthetic sapphire... The sapphire on our reps is -- naturally -- the less expensive, and it is characterized by a rose tone when looked at proper angles... The most expensive is absolutely crystal-clear... and a perfect design might make it less inclined to explode even if thinner.

  11. Is it ever possible that I miss the forum just a few hours and when I come back I find all this turned into Italian singer-composers, allusions of hand jobs, and Italian cheers and hugs?!?

Well, I have to see I am a little proud about it... Even if I recognize it's all because of the Girl Power. ;)

Just don't mistake the TIT (True Italian Touch).

Back on the topic: nice catch on the Luminox, Victoria!
