GMT IIc With Replicated Movement Not Perfected Yet?
lanikai replied to paragonrep's topic in The Rolex Area
+1 remember also .. for the movement to be "labeled" or referred to as "Swiss". by Swiss Federation law it would be 'serviced' by a Swiss certified technician.. I have only one 'Swiss eta' that comes in the factory package and is fully serviced and ready to swap out of the package,.. all others are "eta" and still need proper servicing to be 100%. All the eta's form the dealers are just that "eta" not "Swiss eta"... it has to do with the "servicing" aspect of the movement... all eta's bought form ebay unless in the factory package may need servicing, although I have good luck with them without the servicing so far..that is where the price difference comes into play.. the "Swiss Valjoux 7750" that I have in the factory package is 700 usd.. I got it for a far better price though.. and the eta 7750's I get for about 3 to 350 usd..although still an Eta Valjoux .. it may have been years since they were serviced.... As Ziggy stated a long time ago the "Swiss eta" factory sealed movement is gtg out of the package... no servicing is needed... as it is already serviced prior to packaging. AC Lani -

GMT IIc With Replicated Movement Not Perfected Yet?
lanikai replied to paragonrep's topic in The Rolex Area
Yeah,.... Joshua always comes through with these issues.. if you really want to buy the eta.. they are plenty for sale on the net.. brand new.. for about 140 to 150 usd.. as Ziggy tells us from experience.. they is enough eta's to last a very long time on the market. just google and you will find may vendors outside our hobby that sell these.. Ofrei is the most widely know here.. but there are others too.. L -
There sure isn't anyplace like our community.. I had to leave a post on the orange fora.. now let's see who comments.. I wanted to add that a "supporting community" was great.. maybe I still will... Thanks B and A, and this community for the support.. AC R

maybe too much light ... but it has made a difference after polishing with aluminum mag paste.. I didn't use my cape cod.. .. I would imagine better results.. I need gloves to use CC.. it causes a rash on my skin.. if you do use it on your bracelet (CC) make sure you wash it with warm water and dish soap after.. some nasty rashes have occured due to the petroleum distillates .. I talked to their R&D department a couple of years ago and they told me they use (can't remember the name) but it has irritants) -

I took some aluminum mag polish to it last night.. it improved the "sheen" on the bracelet.. I'll take some pics the movement is still keeping spot on time with my gens. and my Ziggy serviced ETA's... nice to wake up this am and see the identical time on all watches.. but to comment on if it's "better" is beyond my knowledge .. I'll just have to leave that to the pro's or "pro".. the sweep hand sweeps very nicely though.. give me time to upload more pics..although the camera never pics up the identical image..I'll take some now.. A friend has one from Bill I haven't seen it in the flesh .. but if it's anything like his other productions it is worth the $$ I'm sure.. DSN's could use a relume up North.. the dial is a little "cheesy" looking but can be improved on.. imo.. AC Lani
