let me clarify .. as American english is my second language to Local pidgin... notice I write in short bursts.... like we talk ova hea.. The honpo pics are done in a way to really accent the gradual dome.. it looks sweet !!.. it's all about the lighting.. as the crystal is so thick .. my pics outdoors .. it's very hard to see the curve on the surface .. it's like shooting water.. I need darker lighting and a darker backdrop..

Freddy .. it looks like the best engraving to date.. finally.. not as obtuse and rude.. as previously done .. but again I will take macros of this issue.. as I am not going to presume I know more than you ma man !! but be ready to comment .. this is your area of perfection... as they say.. "perfectionist go through great pains.. and pass it on to others"... .. joking about that line.. but you can comment after I get proper pics up .. as this is a "dissapearing engraving"... For those who are really interested in the "domed" crystal.. if you are refferring to the Honpo pics or the Rolex web site pics.. the dark lighting in the pics makes it look much more domed that it actually is.. in fact I think they nailed the crystal on the rep.. as this genuine pic from the side angle is the same look as the rep.. but I will try and replicate the sexy dim lighting .. I know what is attrative .. it's the "Curve" in the pics from the rolex site and the honpo pics .. like the curve in a Harley softail fender.. or the female anatomy .. .. love dem curves.. .. but the genuine is not super domed .. just a slight dome Gen. Rep.

thanks Samu.. but I rushed these pics... we are expecting more storms .. and we are still drying out from the last record flooding.. I have not had a chance to compare it to all the genuine pics I have collected.. I cannot make it a habit to visit the AD.. I will take the macros and then find time to compare.. the lume is Blue however if you look at the genuine pics the lume (when not charged) looks opaque .. like an Opal gemstone.. where as the rep dosen't have the 'opalensence'.. (when not charged) but you have to put your face right up to the genuine to notice that.. other than that I will have to "sit" with it for awhile I'll try for tomorrow.. as I am taking off from the gym ..only cardio ... stretching and abs tomorrow anyway..

if you are talking about the "Rolex" engraving.. it is very faint.. and you can barely make it out in this pic.. as I will repeat.. I need to do macro's and the pictorial review.. the engraving is finally more to the genuine.. not as obtuse as the other attempts .. you really have to look hard and at different angles to see it.. this crystal is a thick motha.. like the Breitling SA.. @archie ... when I went to view the GMTCII the lady told me she had "1" left... .. I told her she had better order more.. since she told me the "kids" from Japan buy them like candy.... sales pitches are Universal..

These are just fast pics.. it has been a crazy week here with the flooding throughout the State.. so without making excuses.. this is NOT the review .. it's just pics.. I have to get the macro pics .. there are a lot of good things going on with this rep.. that need better lighting and pics.. but I need a full day.. And the crystal is domed .. I will have to get it under proper lighting.. the crystal is so thick it makes it difficult with all the reflection .. it is a very heavy watch and the Lume... the colour is that of Hawaii's sky without clouds.. and yes, they nailed the clasp..

This is under 1 second exposure time.. the colours have not been enhanced as you can see by the surrounding colours on the case.. OK.. the lume is a gorgeous Blue !!.. however.. this is the synopsis :.. yesterday when I first opened the box.. my first thought was of course the lume.. so I exposed it to indirect sunlight.. and saw a faint hint of blue.. "great".. Last night while getting ready to sleep I took a halogen flash light and pressed it up against the dial.. BAM..... GREEN.. WTF... I know I saw blue today .. I tell myself then watching it .. slowly turn aqua.. then blue ... did it again.. and again bright green then slowly turn blue.. this time the hands were blue the whole time .. Ok .. thinking out loud... there is green in the colour blue.. so the lume must be bringing out the green .. maybe it's the way the combined the lume.. dunno.. today whilst driving home.. again indirect sunlight.. entered the Pali Tunnel.. ahhhhh... smile.. smile.. blue all the way.. So my theory is .. simple.. it needs charging for a couple of day's after it is out of the dark cave of a box.. don't freak out.. the green in the blue will show.. and when the lume is all ready.. the blue will be dominant..am I making any sense ??

You overlooked the latest .. the SS/PVD version.. PVD dial is pretty cool .. there was a pictorial on this one with macro shots.. And it's nopt a "Fantasy Watch".. the background pic is actually from the MonteBlanc web site .. it is the same SS/PVD genuine.. A member from france is in Love with the MB .. the diver to be exact..and the first Rolex Submariner was designed by a Designer from France.. the rarest of the rare.. history say's the designer wanted a watch he could dive with and then wear with formal attire... .. very French.. it was TT ~ gold and SS Regardless of the price I think the MB's are very classy ..

Chief .. I have a couple of crystals with mags on their way.. I was going to send them to you for the next run.. you tell me what you need me to do.. (they are white sapphire) .. if you want them intact or if you want me to detach one mag.. they are not from the same source.. so you will have 2 different sourced mags.. that way if one takes and the other dosen't well.. we'll know what the problem was .. better to take all options.. just let me know.. I just removed all the AR on one of the mags with acetone.. didn't need a dremel.. it came right off.. if that helps.. allow me sometime to get the crystals as the Holiday shipping is taking forever..

Ok.. this is from one who IMO has had hands on experience .. and btw for those of you who don't know, ssurfer never posts unless it is accurate and with "experience" .. that being said I take ssurfers words as grail .. 10 usd worth .. and agree with the hue on the edge of the crystal.. chiefs AR is as colourless as it get's so if it is just the crystal that is AR.. "redundency" never hurts in ARing the mag .. if redundency works with missles it can work in all other ventures.. So the only thing left to do is for me to get the samples to chief for the next run .. that will be 2 crystal and 2 removed mags.. these are "white sapphire" and I'm sure chief on his end will check the procedures being done with the mags.. I trust him to a tee .. no slight of hand here guy's !! So we can all relax.. thank you freddy for pointing us in the right direction.. thank you Robbie for making us "think" .. and thank you Jake for seeing ma talent in common sense... (joking about my knowledge of course).. a little levity never hurt at times like this.. !! ..

we also can "discuss" this as to who has the correct inside info.. different rolex reps will tell you a variety of "stories" .. so without putting anyone up on a pedestal ... suggest this... we get 2 crystals AR'd.. one single sided; one double sided ... (for control testing) apply a coated mag and then strip away the ar surrounding the mag .. doing the same with the double sided crystal ...as I say the mags coating can alway's be stripped also.. we may find that the single sided ar need not be stripped around the mag... we should be able to cover all bases doing it this way ... if this doesn't work then we gotta be happy with what is... is but at least we will have tried everything possible just pop a couple of prozac and get on to the next rep...

everyone seems to be heading in the same "direction".. given that the ar is on the crystal and it makes sense to be on the inside surface of the crystal .. I thought of your Datejust Robbie and how for a flat crystal it reflects very little compared to other older rolex crystals. chiefs AR has very .. very little colour and that is on his double sided.. I think a single sided ar will not even be noticable the only alternative to coating the entire surface would be to single coat one side then apply the mag and remove the rest of the ar that is surronding the mag...ergo we will achieve just the mag having the ar under it.. the top of the crystal could be single ar'd if this is attempted.. it may be wise to treat the top of the mag.. it can alway's be removed I'll request chief to do this on his next run with the crystals with mags I have coming .. the only thing I'm concerned with is if the top of the crystal is single ar'd will the glue strip the ar coating? if so then the underside of the crystal needs to be done.

I have a couple of "white sapphire" crystal w/mags on the way.. I'll sign up for the next run and we can try a couple of variations.. but thinking it through ... the glue may remove some if not all of the AR coating from the underside of the mag.. maybe we can try single ar inside the crystal and ar on the outside of the mag.. I agree with you .. if the mag was only ar'd on the underside.. how then would it dampen the light on the outside surface of the mag ?? since light spectrums would still have a surface to "bounce" off of.. the only other hypothesis would be that the mag has the coating imbedded into the sapphire.. dun know.. the genuine mag looks really dark as far as "hue" goes.. maybe it's something totally different .. could the Ar content be manufactured into the sapphire?? since your ar is "colourless there has to be a way..

Thanks for the cool pics !!.. the DLC is by far the best coating to hit the market .. IMO.. I used sand paper to take down the rubber .. the buckle is the correct mm size .. but the strap is .05 mm too wide.. easy to take it down a little.. then use acetone to smooth the sides again.. you can't tell after sanding.. otherwise it becomes troublesome to put on and off..
