The Review was a "community review" .. for the community.. it was different and fun andrew and dave123.. and of course DBR's invaluable explanation of the DLC coating.. can't wait to see the SA Black Steel.. funny how it may make the watch look bigger instead of smaller with the darker colour.. this coating is simply amazing as far as astetics .. I like the gunmetal matte look.. sooo Coool !

Well, the dial can and will be improved ... relume and repainting the chrono hands.. but there would have been no getting around the case (DLC coating) .. and that in and of itself makes this one a must .. I am seeing different shades and textures .. before the sun comes up to when it sets,all different looks to the case.. I am really unable to keep from looking at the DLC .. it's like the first time you wear a crystal with AR.. ya just cannot help but look.. again and again..

This was not a test.. scientific or otherwise.. it was by the simplest terms .. an accidental "FU" that had a happy ending.. This morning I went to a Pharmacy section of a Store @6am to pick up .. "Titanium Cream" something new on the market that quickens recovery of strains.. or in my case recovery from heavy lifting.. anyway, back on point.. I was wearing my Black Steel .. and had a diet soda in my left hand .. so I'm walking through an isle that I have been through many times.. just before I take a turn (left) around the corner of the isle .. I switch the drink I'm holding in my left hand to my right.. and at the same time I am turning the corner I am bringing down my left arm to my side .. as I make the turn, with my left arm moving in a downward motion .. I hear and feel a (sickening ) metal to metal thud~ ..and feel the impact around the 10 to 11 markers on my watch.. I made mention of the time I was at the store.. this is the time that clerks are restocking the items on the shelves and have their merchandise "carts" out. so obviously .. what is normally not in the isles where this morning In the split second that all of this happened the message to my brain .. was... "I really screwed up", and damaged my case.. I was so sure because of the impact and noise ... the case was definitely damaged.. I picked up my arm in disgust (at myself) ................ there was nothing.. not even a scratch.. I was grateful and confused at the same time.. (mostly grateful) .. I looked at the cart.. it was nothing but metal.. no soft rubber or plastic.. I kept looking at the watch for another 30 minutes.. off and on.... thinking that there has to be something.. since the sound and feeling to my arm on impact was enough to scratch a SS case.. I came home and put a loupe on to look at the bezel ... there is very small ding on the edge of the bezel .. but it did not affect the DLC .. nor can you tell without a loupe And as I said the force was dramatic.. so yes it is scratch "resistant" I would venture to say a little tougher than just scratch resistant..

Yes, it's been a lazy slow day.. so I went fishing.... and look what I caught "in the net" ..(pun intended) My 1665 GW .. was the last of my 3 ocean vintages (for now) to make it to the Great North to RWG's Merlin "Ziggy" Here is what was found when I pulled up the net .. 1665 GW .. on the back of the beautiful Lion fish DRSD ... and my 1680 Although all these replications have some genuine parts .. IMO .. to qualify for them to be named "franken".. it would have to have a genuine "dial" .. now this is just my interpretation of the term ... Franken, as I really believe without a genuine vintage dial it does not fall under that category .. I "term" these .. "Ziggies" MBK's .. which for me is.. GREAT !! Thanks for viewing RWG !! Well Steve .. as the Volcanoe has been overly active for over a decade and more so now... (you will learn also of the Goddess Pele when you get here) Your going to love UH Hilo !!.. a very good eclectic group of students .. new dormatories ... and the people of the "Big Island" are really cool,.. warm folks.. You'll be not far from the fresh water springs .. and when you are settled you must take the drive to Kona.. around the Southern most point in the USA.. we call it "south point".. DOH .. and then aroujnd to Kamuela ... cattle country .. nothing but rolling hills and great Hawaiin cowboy's (Paniolos).. Parker Ranch is the largest cattle ranch in the US.. anyway.. you are going to love the Big Island .. at least you will not suffer from "Island Fever" it's big enough fo sure !! Wow,.. you could even go up to Mauna Kea.. the worlds largest telescope is there with another to be built.. and yes, there is snow in Hawaii.. but let's keep in touch.. my schedule is nutz .. but if you are going to pass through Honolulu .. and have a short layover... you need not worry about transportation .. or "grinds" .. (lunch) cause we will hook up.. jus hope it's not on the weekend.. as my business takes up all my time then.. and if you need anything while in Hawaii.. ya got a "big brotha" here to take care of things for ya.. look forward to seeing ya .. you'll be far from your home (not rwg of course) .. but know that we.. in Hawaii will have your back !! .. anyone get on your case .. we'll have 30 Harley's show up.. FYI. the 104 would be my choice .. re: it has the Date .. running seconds @9 and the updated mag and AR coat.. needless to mention the updated thicker font.. unless theyu have updated the Pam Logo .. it is still too squared compared to the genuine for me.. I thought DSN was working with one of our members .. so if in fact he did update the 005 then it should be great.. but for everyday wear I really need a date function... Although, there are some mods.. Ziggy Lume. and kruzer OEM crown.. and it is also a 44mm but what ever you decide .. Live Strong and wear it well.. you will probably end up with more than one though..and my wrist is 7' to 7.5" depends on my diet..

Thanks ND.. congrats to your Soooonerrsss !! for the newer members .. the TI on the genuine should look something like this.. there are several how too's around from last year.. the colour on the genuine is rather dark like the IWC Ingy TI.. it took me about a week of oxidizing and reoxidizing to get it just the way I wanted.. one thing with the TI metal in these reps .. they are all different.. meaning their properies are not really consistant..IMO .. some TI's I have took very fast others like this 089 took patience.. notice the genuine crown.. it is not oxidized.. proof that that is the genuine look..

here's my 089 after the case has been oxidized to resemble the genuine TI the anthracite dial in different lighting.. this has been relumed by Ziggy.. genuine OEM kruzer TI crown,.. Lello DW.. all it needs now is a DSN AR'd crystal..so to show you what can be done with these reps
