Chiefs AR.. tried in vain to get a relection ... even used the strobe..

I think this is the most underrated rep out ... even Ziggy said it would not need anything but the hands repainted.. to match the markers.. and of course the tube/crown... I'm surprised not everyone that loves Omega has one.. the chrono has been my fav over the reg SMP it was just the obnoxious glare from the crystal..

40's ?? .. yikes .. your summer climate... Nanuq it would be cool if you coud arrange a trip to the Big Island.. the worlds premiere Telescope and Haleakala.. ( house of the Sun) on maui.. it looks like another Planet on the top.... their getting ready to build a bigger scope on Mauna Kea.. but something about enviornmentalist.. sheesh if not for science etc. etc. must be a slow protest year for them.. they gotta pick on the bonafide researchers..

The surf spot is called "Acid Drop" for a very good reason.. primo surf spot !! the rip curent is deadly... be careful not to wonder too far offshore the next time you visit .. sharks abound.. and the rip will sweep you out to sea in a heartbeat btw that was with my blackberry phone camera.. I don't carry my Nikon around.. just gotta hold it like a handgun ... the pics are pretty decent..

it's a slow week on the board sooooo... have a look at how I end my work day ... watching the Sunrise at the Mid-Pacific CC in Lanikai It was pretty dark until the the sun broke the Horizon in the first pic..... Ready to Tee off at 5:45 am..

I cannot see it being the same type of AR; as sunglasses would not withstand the high heat that is needed to coat the sapphire crystal.. after all the lenses you are refferring to are plastic ... basically....

Gotta do it !!!.. chiefs AR has practically NO colour ... it brings out the dial to the "MAX" since it is a beauty of a dial !!! .. bet no one will ever question the Coating .. but they will notice the dial !! I can't take my eye's off it now.. whereas previously I thought it a 'waste' with Robs work on the hands (painted red to match the markers) it is reborn for me.. the glare was the only thing holding it back for me..

Optical guy in Kailua does my sunglasses to aviator specs (Ray Ban) he charges me 35 usd.. his lenses are exactly like the the specs from Ray Ban.. but he does not know AR... I have "learned" not to believe "everything" that the Rolex AD's tell me .. they have proven to be only about sales... but we will have to "Hurry up and Wait" on this one freddy.. Edit add; thank you freddy !!! .. you just gave me a "thought" i'll take the mag to my optical guy and see how he advises to "clean it".. i know he has instruments to do this.. so tomorrow....

I'll add this here first.. the best time of day for glare... 5:30 pm shot with the PO right up to the window... .. is that all ya got ..(talking to the) "glare" bullet proof crystal...

I need to get a tool to remove the tubes.. ..time to take off the training wheels.. and give it a go... I have the SMP to change the DW and the tube and crown.. figure I'll "practice on a dead movement for the DW and the Tube should not be that difficult.. yeah right... Wow.. I can't believe you have no SMP..either... geez DL.. you have everything else though... Thanks ALL for the WORDS.........PO makes me wanna slice a ice cold Orange...

that is a must do for practical purposes.. as everyone know this rep is "super" but the weak link is the crown and tube... only about 35 usd from Ofrei..the crystal is very tight though unlike the IWC's and pretty thick gauge also.. FYI.. Hat's off to you CT !! i am going to post a "side by" ... with the genuine possibly tomorrow..

Thanks Chief.. we are covering all details and chiefs AR speaks for itself.. you all may want to take a look at the Omega section and the PO crystal I posted that Chief ar'd last winter.. it is by far better than the genuine !!

I had to get the PO Pumpkin in orange all around !! so here are the pics with the PO genuine dial .. better pearl .... gen. crown and tube ... Chiefs AR .. just as good .. even better than the genuine. and the new upgraded rubber divers strap... Thank you R&J for the great work !! This pic was taken with the Sun in DIRECT line with the crystal... btw this is the crystal from Chiefs first newly developed AR .. I will do a side by side "face off" with the genuine .. but not today.. Direct Sun on the crystal... ........ my left retina is back to normal now.. Very minute ... fraction of a gap from the strap to case..i am wearing it a little loose .. too hot to do otherwise.. massive glare through the window.. I know you don't believe me looking at the crystal.. look at the hands and the dial.. Now I like the SMP Chrono "MO BETA" translated means ... I LOVE IT.. with chiefs AR .. after getting it back from Rob during the winter.. the glare just ruined the dial .. and since Chiefs AR,.. has none of the "tint" look.... it just appears not to have any crystal.. I feel it does not take away from the rep to Genuine look.. but just adds aesthetics to it.. Focus is on the bezel insert.. Morphs to metallic.. BTW... this was my first crystal removal and press back... so if I can do it anybody can.. Aloha~Cheers R

Well if you view single Ar coating as opposed to double it is like night and day (no pun intended) .. the genuine cannot be single .. no way on Gods green earth.. especially with the huge convex on top... well regardless.. we shall see

"WE" are RWG... it is what make "US" the "BEST OF THE REST" ... we are all here to do the deed !!! .. now chief is better equiped to get us the best AR'd mags.. bet ya it'll be better than the genuine.. after he is done !!!

I sent 2 mags to Chief for the GMTIIc mag to be AR'd this was more to gauge if the hypothesis was correct in the mag being single sided ..( it was done ...top... the AD told me Bottom... but they give out all type of misinfo) ... and the outcome was great in that there will be adjustments to the final run... which should be spot on after the initial "Pilot" run.. it was worth it..!!! After receiving back the mags it appeared that the coat did not take... chief mentioned that it may be mineral... it did take.... but it was done "single sided" as all reports from TZ...and the AD said it was singled.. this obviously was false.. the glare is coming from the bottom... and conversely would come from the top.. Well the only way to tell was to put it on the actual surface area... so you can see the ":hue" but again ... it being singled ... and having such a curve.. it will take chiefs well known double AR to make it as the genuine.. as rolex is giving out misinformation .. for obvious reasons.. the second "find" was the UV glue on the underside.. this was soaked in acetone... and under a loupe the glue was not visible .. but it is now after the coating The acetone seems to have been erroneously reported. not by anyone here.. more miss info.. so stronger solvent needs to be used .. this UV glue is strong stuff ... I may be delayed a couple of day's as unless I get all the glue off .. the results will be .... (I don't need to say) airplane paint remover would definitely work but I rather have gotten used to ma fingers to :roll eyes: Morale of the test run.... leave it to RWG and the Team Work here to have the information that the genuine sites BS about... excuse the crazy pics they were not done for beauty.. had to get the fading sun for natural lighting..

ETA wheels are relatively inexpensive ..now anyway I get them from Cousins UK or Watchparts UK..
