As a member of the forum it is my understanding that the Admin team is responsible for searching sites that could possibly lead to scams and rip offs.. ie. pics of genuine timepieces that never get delivered .. etc. with that said I would just like to state the relevance of the question of... is the Admin team influenced by any of the Collector-dealers .... I am the member responsible for procuring the reps for the raffles... not Admin nor the Co-Admin nor any Mod... The Reps are donated without exchange for favours.. or any other commodity,. be it complimentary reps or parts .. in other words .. I buy my reps like the rest of the members.. and nothing is done in return for anyone on the Admin Team.. nor myself ... As i understand we have met our usage fee for the month thanks to the donations and upgrades from the raffles.. these raffles are not meant to be a profit maker for the forum and I as as a member am doing it to contribute to our community.. as all of you do also.. I am no different.. that is why you see a member doing this and not a mod.. checks and balances.. Admin and his team trust that I will do this for the good of the community and not personal agenda's .. the trust is sacred to me as it is with the Administration Joshua and Andrew have donated the reps for the current raffles free of any collusion "we" are not being compromised in anyway, shape or form .... IMO if this keeps up on the board I will find it hard to gather donations which keeps us afloat.. so think wisely before asking the Admin team to do anything out of personal differences.. As has been said in the past "choose with your wallet" I wanted to post this as there must be members wondering about my involvement with the raffles ... and questions that have risen concerning "Our" Admin team and what is going on with the other sites.... IMO Our Admin Team is here to take care of "our community" and to me are doing the best job on the net.. as I hope every site feels about their own Admin Team Aloha~Cheers Lani

I think Robbieg is asking for information sake is all.. there have been some new dealers in the past 2 years and although seeing new dealers is not an anomily... it could make one think .. who is behind the forum names.. have you ever wondered if the Chinese collectors are really in fact Chinese like everyone assumes... I'm just wondering 'aloud" btw .. As there has alway's been talk of Forums selling the reps and by- passing the dealers.. I will stick with RWG's older dealers ... as I favour the stand that RWG took to it being a conduit for reps for profit.. Lani

The coronet looks much better on your dial Jo Jo ... you do have an amazing collectionof vintage pieces..!! Anal is one way to describe it... I would rather use "attention to detail" If we did not have members that had such a "perfectionist" attitude toward searching for the correct details... our standards of reps would be much lower and we would be accepting all the flaws that older reps had, thus bringing the quality of the rep to a level where you could actually spot it as a "fake" and not as a "replication".. there is a difference. when I first started collecting and wearing replications .. I was of the same mindset .. "no big deal" but as you evolve in this hobby your search for more accurate detail becomes acute ... to the point of modding genuine dials into your case set... etc. genuine crowns,, crystals.. and that is the affliction of this hobby to "get it correct" .. I think that is what keeps me from just going out and buying a genuine.. because with all the $$$$ spent on vintage parts I could surely just go out and purchase a new model ... but for me .. just buying it and wearing it has long since lost it's appeal..and it's something that I had a hand or wrist.. in creating... although without Ziggy's artistic vintage Lume it would not be worth looking at as much.. Let's face it, we don't buy these timepieces just to keep time.. it is a source of enjoyment and pride and "viewing".. I cannot count how many times during the day that I take a look at my Zigfried vintage timepiece..(not to tell time) or how many times I change it to another Zigfried timepiece.. i like to be fair with all of my "children" a hand that is the incorrect length would and does "kill it" for me.... "Distraction from the overall" mystique of the timepiece.. or the "Illusion" ... I'm not debating your statements .. just giving another perspective on what has been for me an "evolution in thinking" of this Hobby..... and being one of many (IMO) that is of the OCD... ... It is what it is...........

Thank you T.. almost missed this ... the variances are subtle .. but I'm starting to recognize them.. the coronet is the most glaring on the dial, (for me anyway)... the slightly thinner CG's... the slightly flatter S .. oddly the pearl dosen't bother me as much as the coronet.. But all said, a great starting point for the mods that are going to be done on mine .. and even out of the box excellent rep... compared to all others Thanks again .. it is an excellent side by side pictorial !!! informative to see them exactly the way you shot the angles. So I read in various periodicals that by the New Year oil will be back down to about 93 dollars a barrel .... of course it would be after the Holiday's when traveling is a must for families and college kids .. by land or air .. what would prompt this drop ?? and how can it be so well choreographed as to be able to see this happening without it being all scripted ?? can our forums expert traders chime in to enlighten me on this phenomenon .. or SOP in our World of Oil prices ??

the rep crystals AR is more toward the "tinted" look rather than the true AR of the genuine.. Bulldog (formerly chieftang) AR is the ultimate in anti reflective coatings and that is not (IMO) it is unlike anything you have seen ,,.. or in the case of the crystal ... you will not see any crystal or tint or hint of the AR coating... your crystal will simple not appear to be there... it belongs in another dimension... it really appears that you could pick the hands off the dial at any given time..my 3717 crystal is coming back shortly from Bulldogs coating and I'll be sure to post pics... my PO bulldog coated crystal will be put side by side the genuine Omega PO and you decide...

All Mags have been removed from the crystals.. please check the status list if you are not payed by Friday 8/01/08 your mags will be rolled over to members on the stand-by list .. last call; no more PM's .. no more chasing.. Aloha Lani The crystal with mags has arrived and they look excellent !!.. now I can breathe.... and smile...... they look actually better than the sample.. Mr/ Ali came through... after the fact... ... but they are here none the less.. and here are some pics.. One thing I will comment on.. a lot of members say that they are not receiving the correct magnification.. remember that this is a "magnifier" .. and as such, the enlargement of the font depends on the height of the crystal in relationship to the mags distance to the font.. ergo the older vintage plexi crystals ... the font will be much larger than a modern day sub... I never bothered to think about it but some genuine mags in which the crystal sits very low to the DW.. may very well be larger than 2.5 ... possibly a 2.6 to 2.8 giving the end result of magnification 2.5... or different models magnification may vary.. .. unless all Rolexes are the same height from crystal to font.. in which case my theory has just been shot to shit.. Pics... The Loot Looks good.. but remember the DW is a little sunken so the magnification will be larger on the actual piece I had to do ... one right away juuuusssst to be sure !!!! see the remnants of the UV glue on the crystal ?? The lack of clarity comes from the glue that still needs to be cleaned off the mag and I just heated this up to very high temputure.. but after soaking in acetone it should be crystal clear...
