Just a heads up.. i had the thread yesterday and now cannot find it It was brought to my attention that a collector .. not one of our "factory' collectors.. is selling what would appear to be the 07 Cousteau divers.. this may very well be a copy of the original copy.. if anyone has come across this .. check it out carefully and post questions.. there are a lot of inconsistencies supposedly .. because it has not been ascertained 100% this is by the same maker that is copying the HBB Rep. I will not name the collector as he may or may not be aware of this .. so i believe we will need to do more footwork but to be on the safe side.. has anyone come across this ?? I think it is selling for 340 usd?? Inconsistancies: Serail numbers... on the copy of the rep.= 0001,.. the original rep has 5 random set of numbers On the Bezel: 12 to 3 has no trim on the copy of the rep. and the orange colouring is off.

Genuine Replication Paul Picot Le Plongeur Chrono Grey/Black .. black divers strap also in yellow divers strap I must start off by saying that the 2008 Replications seem to be improving as makers are apparently servicing the movement with more QC.. on this version anyway.. OK.. measurement of the case is as Italiano has pionted out .. the collector has it listed as 42 mm,.. the genuine is listed as 43 mm,.. the Replication is in fact 43 mm.. from the 9 (case) to the 3 (crown). Dial is listed by the genuine as black-grey .. the replication is just that black/grey.. the same Arabic numerals for the 12, and markers for the hours with smaller markers for the 3,6, and 9.. the arabic and the hour markers are Lumed (white).. the second markers on the inside bezel are matched to the genuine. the Logo signature "Paul Picot.. automatic.. hard to ascertain if this is spot on but if I have to look through a loupe to count the lines as they seem to be equal to the genuine.. and the 'sqaures on the dial will really only appear in the correct angle.. in other words if you were wearing the watch on your left hand and turned to read the time the squares will be apparent..and this is when the dial will take on a more black ash look.. Movement: genuine is the Swiss 7753.... the Replication is a A7750 Edit: Power Reserve + 48 hours went to actually 50 hours .. when I put it on for wrist check it was still going strong Hour/minute hands are silver as is the genuine and the lume is also white as is the genuine. Chrono hands are yellow .. as is the genuine... Chrono subs at 3, and 6 .. font is spot on as far as I can see to the genuine Sub seconds at 9, the numeralmarkers are Yellow,.. again font and markers appear to replicate the genuine Date /font .between the 4 and 5.. the font is a bit smaller and the wheel slightly sunken due to the A7750 movement used in the replica .. the date unlike the genuine is changed via the crown due to the use of the A7750 movement .. the pusher at 10 is a faux.. I rotated the date wheel one full (31) cycle with the crown and with every numeral the wheel "clicked" or as i like to think of it "snapped' in place and there was no sliding of the wheel.. telling me that this was serviced raather nicely .. the only other A7750 mvmt. that has done that is one that had been serviced by Ziggy.. Bezel..the bezel is matte directional (single 60 clicks ,spot on).. again Grey/black with polished numerals and markers (steel)... All numerals and markers seem to replicate the genuine.. pretty much spot on.. i cannot find any flaws Screw down crown.. i am really impressed by the work the makers of the replica did on the tube and the machining of the threads.. it feels as "smooth as glass".. no hitch or scrapping feel to the crown when screwing down.. also of note, the turning of the hands feels nothing but "solid" and of good servicing by the factory.. the hands have absolutely no play and the movement of the wheels feel very well done.. CG's square cut cg's with beveling .like the genuine Pushers at 2 and 4 .. screw lock down pushers.. again the machining of the threads feel first rate.. i am pleasantly surprised at the machining here.. the action of the pushers feel very good.. you don't have to use full force.. medium pressure will get the chrono going and returning with the 4 pusher very smoothly.. Notice the yellow trim in between the case and the bezel.. i like this added visual instead of an all metal case set.. as well as the yellow trim on the crown.. Case Back the case back has definately all the proper markings .. COCS markings with the serial numbers .. (well this is a Rep.. but we still have Ziggy) proper limited Edition marking and 5 digit serial numbers.. the genuine may be diamond etched though in the engraving.. but this rep is engraved quite deep actually, the outer fringes of the case back is bead blasted Crystal the genuine calls for AR .. (inside only) .. well obviously this is double sided.. and the AR rivals that of the Replicated HBB IMHO .. and since the crystal is flat.. it,.. as far as AR coating goes is awesome.. although i have my doubts as to wether the genuine is as heavily coated.. Lume... Incredible for out of the box.. i charged it for only a minute and it glows !!!!! i would want a ziggy lume on this watch .. but i seriously doubt it needs one....still Strap the divers strap is not as stiff as the cousteau and would appear to have the proper markings on the inside of the strap.. it is on a scale of 1-10 in stiffness about a 6 1/2 ,.. with the lug ends being thicker and with more rigidness..leaving the clasp end softer than the middle to end of lug end... progressing in firmness. edit: the strap is "vanilla" scented just like the genuine.. rather nice fragrance.. like the car scent actually Clasp double delployment .. the strap needs to be measured and cut to tailor fit your wrist.. be sure to measure both ends or you clasp will ride too high on the outer portion of your wrist... screws need to be removed and replaced to secure the clasp to the strap. Available in Yellow and Black.. the yellow is like that of Kruzers mello yellow HBB.. All in all I would (without experience in the genuine) .. say that as far as the Rep. goes.. this is one heck of a watch,... Rep. or not.. the weight is like that of the SOSF.. very good metal and the markings and workmanship by the maker is first class... thanks Italiano.. these are the same ones I got also.. but i can't find the definative measurements ie. mm's the genuine is 43 mm the replication is 42mm, that is as far as i have gotten .. searching for the correct measurements.. I was lucky enough to get a genuine pic from a friends-friend.. spent all week trying to come up with the true weight etc. nada.. zilch ..no mo... if anything .. we have to go with just the cosmetic specs.. for now that's all i have..

"I" can't wait to see it myself.. didn't want to make the drive after i got home so will wait until after the gym tomorrow.. it was made with the genuine as sample so it should be "solid" and I will weigh it using the electronic scale that the cigar shop uses to weigh the pipe tobaco,.....curious to see the weight.. .. I'm having a bit of a challenge finding specs on the genuine..if anyone comes across it we could surely use it..

Do like I do... look at it long and hard... then come back to it often, and look at it again ... trick it by waiting awhile, then hurry back and give it a real mean stare for a long time ,.................when your over obsessing about it (not that I do that) .. by then you will have another ding so better get yourself a brush pen now.. to take out scratches from the brushed area only of the watch and bracelet (ebay ..watch boys),.... a pen eraser will do it also..... get a dremel, polishing felt wheel, and metal polish or red rouge to take out scratches from the polished area of the watch.. Now that you are armed and ready for any intrusion... LIVE STRONG AND WEAR IT WELL

Just for the point of a "healthy" discussion ... isn't the norm 20 mm for this size Omega.. i don't think they would change it that drastically ..??? if the flaws that are pointed out will need a magnified inspection then i will be more than happy.. because at first glance (the pics anyway) ... it's loooking goood.. and if for the sake of debate, if I have to take out calipers to measure the thickness .. then are we scrutinizing a little too much.. (but good to know anyway).. Me thinks this replica will be fully reviewed before anyone lay's hands on it

I believe this is just the collectors way of over illustrating the AR in the crystal.. do a search for the HBB .. raymond has a pic that is awesome .. the maker of the HBB Replica went to the factory that does the AR for the genuine watches .. and more of the rep makers are following suit.. with that said, I am hoping the same for the new releases that call for double AR in 08

Well,.. they are all three must have reps IMHO ... can't have one without the other .. for the GMT retro .. if you go to the right Collector you can get the spare bezel inserts .. the black,.. the blk/red... and the blue/red .. they come off rather easily..and if you use "Shoe Goo" the adhesive for athletic sneakers (stay's rather soft and does not turn too ard like epoxy).. it will hold in place and you can take it off using a pin.. unless your going to play racket ball or tennis with it .. it holds firmly enough.. that way you have 3 watches in one.. read Ziggy's review on the A7750 (new version) and you will find out..

Yes, kpdii.. point taken and i did post that i stand corrected.. your pic is of the older version dial.. and i believe RWG has enough safeguards to insulate the board against security breaches.. but i could be wrong about that too no worries though .. can't wait for the "real" rep (contradiction i know) to come in..

Got one myself at about the same time and it also was a present.. ... thinking about it the Omega would have been fine... shows a responsible person with a good job at least.. if you were an attorney .. then a Rolex would show you are a obviously successful at your profession if it's for going over the posted limit .. don't wear a speedmaster if it's for a DUI don't wear bling if it is for a bench warrant, wear whatever .. I'm sure the powers that be have already preordained your character...

it's ok to nit pick..attention to detail is what this hobby is about .. although i don't plan to try and pass this rep off as a genuine so unless it has got a display back .. i'm not overly concerned i meant the first "speedmaster with correct spacing.. although with this configuration of 9, 12 and three there really was no problem in getting it correct i suppose Suppose too that this model would look good with a antique alligator strap ...

I am repeating myself .. but let's 'wait" and SEE.. instead of starting a debate without the said product for comparison.. the pic above comes from the Genuine Omega site.. your pic looks nothing like the genuine pic, in fact it looks like it may be off of a very bad site either claiming to be genuine or a bad "fake".. (sub dial font).. the pics of the rep looks very close if not spot on to the genuine "drawing" ( as far as sub dial font).. genuine sites are moving away from the actual watch (pics) they do IMHO shade the drawings a little off the actual piece .. seems like they do this purposely to give a little misdirection..that is why certain collectors are purchasing more genuine watches and having them torn apart for replication.. that (IMHO) does not mean that we will get super reps .. but it is closer to copying a drawing or picture of said watch... edit: I stand corrected.. the pic "is" of an older model speedmaster date (posted by kpdii) ergo dials have changed.. So,.. before anyone goes crying "wolf".. let's .... "hurry up and wait"
