Actually the reps did get immersed whole.. and not a problem.. they are at least gtg in a pot of warm water for an extended period.. I put a soda cap on the bottom of the pot and rested the watch on it.. one sure test... if the second hand stops .. then you'll know you have problems.. Seriously .. should be fine..

pearl is a dead give... and if it were a gen.. I wouldn't spend money on it..

I've gotten the second generation orange strap from Josh.. th updated strap works well and no spacing from the lugs like the first one made.. See here>UPO Strap as a suggestion .. I would order the SS and then the strap as an accessory.. during the summer you may want the SS at times..or you could just order the watch with the rubber strap..

You don't see many of these in the wild here.. so the date window is not a huge concern with me..I likes it regardless..

it will be fine.. actually do this put on a watch.. look at it.. then move to a mirror and look at it in the mirror..it won't look as big as from the angle of you eye to directly to your wrist.. when looking at ones own watch it does appear bigger than it would when someone else is looking at it.. strange but true.. must be the optical perspective or angle of the view..

Yes,.. they are made to clean light rust off metal surfaces.. they also work well to turn rep gator straps to a matte finish.. tried it on my rep gator.. comes out very nice..

Brush fiberglass pen.. Watch bitz has them.. it refinishes your brushed finish.. I use it periodically on my UOP bracelet.. if your in the EU cousins also has them.. you can also use a "pen eraser".. but make sure your stokes are even.. it's best to use "one way' strokes.. the pen eraser takes out light scratches very nicely.. the fiberglass refinishing pen makes them look new again.. This is a vintage Doxa that had been pretty scratched up.. used the pen to refinish it. go here to view the brush on Ofrei>Here
