  1. Pardon my ignorance, but what exactly does the amplitude specify in a watch movement?
  2. Pretty sure that advert is for one (singular) dial. He hasn't stated anywhere in his ad that the auction is for multiple dials.
  3. I could not agree with you more. I'd also like to add: What's up with (supposedly) tool watches that have CERAMIC bezels - seriously!?
  4. Will do, TX. What should I specifically be looking for concerning the clasp? @mastrmindalliance Thanks, mate. Although I would like your input on the CG - on the last picture you can see a small blemish/ding on top of the CG (at the edge).
  5. I am by no means an expert when it comes to Proplofs... far from it, I really haven't got a clue what I should be looking for. I'd love some help from the experts, pretty please. Very much appreciated!
  6. Just saying, mate. It still has tells - but so will EVERY aftermarket item. This is the first insert that I would dare to use on a watch - all the other aftermarket inserts are just... crap. WM9: Good colour and hue, but font isn't that great, nor is the thickness. WM: Hah. Everything is wrong. JO: Good printing, but almost no hue. Contrast stays the same from whatever angle. Kurtyiu: Diameter is too small. Wholesaleoutlet: Good printing, good font, nice green hue - yet not perfect. I've tried all those inserts. Which made me come to the conclusion that a gen insert is the way to go. The green colour, with the hue and different contrast depending on angle/lighting -- It cannot be replicated properly. Black/silver isn't that hard to replicate - get the font right, get the thickness right, and you're pretty much done. The LV insert on the other hand... whole different story. Although the gen pearl helps a lot.
  7. Not bad - probably the best aftermarket LV insert I've seen. Though, it's far from perfect. The minute markers are too fat, and the green hue/shine is too dark/matte.
  8. That's great news mrboombasteke! Thank you for the PM. I am still in for the 6 slot box in black (shipped to the Netherlands).
  9. *pssstt* I've got a secret stash of Charlie Sheen-grade watches - PM me, WU or bank-transfer accepted! *pssssstt* Nothing to see here, move along.
  10. I'm in for a 6 slot if you decide to ship international.
  11. <2002 is as close as I can get. So probably over 10 years. Would not surprise me if the crowns I bought are indeed 704s, and not 703s as I assumed (he didn't advertise them as 703, I just assumed). That is, if omgiv is sure the crown on his SD is gen, which I'm guessing he is. My crowns, and the crown that was purchasd by omgiv on eBay, seem to be identical compared to his gen 24-704 crown. Anyone else with a gen 704 crown that could chime in, or ideally can take some face shots of the crown?
  12. You're more than welcome. I want to find out the truth behind these darn crowns as much as you do. I doubt it is fake, really. Or atleast, I find it hard to believe that such a reputable seller is selling knock-offs (keeping an optimistic view, eheh). When did Rolex introduce the 704?
  13. Here a few more comparison shots (mine vs. omgiv ebay-crown). They seem to be the same. If these are indeed fake, they did a damn good job. (teeth do not line up because of angle)
  14. Thanks again, JAG. I really appreciate all the help.
  15. That´s what I expected. I guess I´ll be his first negative feedback for selling aftermarket as genuine.
  16. Justasgood is a Rolex library. Thanks again. Any chance that it in fact is a 24-704?
  17. That's great info guys! I've just compared it with one of my known to be gen. crowns -- and it seems I overlooked the so called crimped inner teeth. Nonetheless, this is a shitty situation. The guy I bought it from has perfect feedback apart from some shipping stuff.
  18. Thanks guys, that's a major bummer. I guess I will PM him... hopefully I won't have to open a dispute.
  19. I bought these on eBay, and I'm wondering if they are in fact genuine or not. I have compared it to one of my known to be genuine 24-703 crowns and it seems to match. I'd like some input from the experts, pretty please. Pictures. Shot at 2011-03-09 Shot at 2011-03-09 Shot at 2011-03-09 Shot at 2011-03-09 Thanks a lot guys.
