  1. So, it sat unwanted and I struck a deal. Got the watch in no time....,.pun intended After 3 days, here you see that it hasn't lost a single second: Then, I decided that the whole polished look was getting a bit old. Especially since I picked up this Davidsen beauty from Chris: So, I decided to give the GMT the brush off......err.....rather on. I went at it for 2 days and here for your comments.....are the results. Fire away And honestly, after over a week, this watch has gained 1 second. Thanks Stephen and Chris. What a great place
  2. Not as much as I'd like to. Maybe 100-150 miles/week. My 4 and 5 year old pretty much limit my time in the saddle
  3. Hey Ubi, Is that the 5517 rep with the slower beat movement? if so, are those the Yao hands you had recommended for my 5517(same movement swap)? Thanks, thatb piece looks great. Kurt.
  4. O.K., not really. But I almost tossed it on the *bay willing to accept the market driven price. Well, in answering all the questions and taking different pictures and haggling over deals and value......I um.......well, I kinda re-discovered the beauty of it's ugliness:-) So without furthur delay.....My new friend's glamour shots....yeah I know, a bit over the top.....anyway, enjoy the photos of a few of my favorite things.......
  5. Okay, now I know the problem. My wifeypoo changed the Ebay id. My past 8 years of 100% positive feedback have been wiped. My ebay id has 0 feedback . Anyway I can restore my old status? BTW, this isn't watch related and if I were certain, I'd go straight to ebay. Just feeling around abit.
  6. I'm sorry, it's my sense of humor. I know you were serious. I am going to try again. Thanks, Kurt.
  7. Very funny.....no serious, I tried that and I got a messag that said It was not allowed because I had no past deals or current bids with that member. Did I miss something?
  8. Thanks to a member of another forum, I tore into the Omega with a mission. Removed the hands (The Main minute hand was loose), Tightened up the collar, re-broached, replaced and she's working perfectly again. Oh yeah, touched up the Lume and changed the color of the Chrono seconds hand to help distinguish it from the main time hands. Oh yeah, I also re applied the cyclops to my new (to me) Tudor.. Before.... After... Whew! Glad it was a simple fix. Opinions are always welcome....
  9. You know the watch. I picked it up last month off the SC. It has performed flawlessly since. Right up until I decided to sell it to raise cash for this: I got a lot of interest and was near closing a deal. As I made sure the timing and functions were as described...Flawless, something odd happened. In running the chrono, after a few minutes, I stopped and reset it and noticed the main minute hand moved a bit when I reset the chrono. Mystified I tried it again and yep, it moved. Now I have run this chrono many times in the last month (I buy 'em to use 'em) and never had this happened. Does anyone have any ideas? Do I now own damaged goods that can't be sold? Help me, please, Help me. Thanks in advance, Kurt.
  10. Here for your veiwing pleasure I present....pictures Opinions alway welcome.
  11. Dude, No way 5 guys are wearing one Sub. I mean, how big was the bracelet?
  12. Actually, you can massage the pin back in without removing the hands, dial and date wheel. With the movement removed, if you look at the side profile where the stem inserts into the movement, you will see the plate in it's recessed position. You can gently and with a very small tipped screwdrivesr, move it back into it'd position. I stress gently because you don't want to bend or mis-shapen any of the keyless works. It's at least worth a try and I have had success 95% of the time with this technique. Then again, I'm Cajun
  13. What should the hand length of the 42.5mm PO be? Or is this the 45mm version? Do these look okay? Also, does anyone have a black insert for this model they would like to get rid of? ( I gots money ) And lastly, is this model rare? I mean, how many Omega PIANET OCEANS do you think they made? Thanks in advance, Kurt.
  14. Check out the "0" in the number 10 in the third photo. Most of the numbers are not flush but this is the worst of them all. Jay is resolving the issue and has been great. The watch has been adjusted and is running at + 5secs over the last week......in total! Gotta love watchmakers that enjoy watches
  15. Got mine rather quickly (around 2 weeks maybe less) and aside from the jerky seconds hand (smaller sub dials and smaller seconds hands make this movement less noticeable) the only issue I have is that a few of the applied numbers don't sit flush on the dial. Silix has been great about responding to my concerns and is taking care of the problem. Overall this watch is right up there for looks, feel, presence and in my mind value. After I find the right strap, I expect that tyhis beauty will get lots-o-wrist time.
  16. Serious? Are they closer in size to the gen? What about thecolor variation? Since I knocked out the pins and now have Gen springbars, I was thinking of just modding the CG's and converting this sub into a 5512 or 5513. Thoughts....
  17. Well I guess I must have done something right....I transplanted the exact same movement (Tissot Rotor and all) into my 5517. I love the lazy beat rate and it comes real close to my gen 5513 . UBI UB DAMAN! I always enjoy tour posts and mods.
  18. Specifically - Hands length, appearence on the Seamaster bracelet, where can I get a caseback that doesn't say PIANET OCEAN and does anyone have a black insert I can buy? Opinions always welcome. Thanks, Kurt.
  19. I've had bothe Gens, the Quartz and auto. This one keeps time better than both. Thanks.
  20. Like women and shoes....I can't go past a watch display without fondling a few
