Hello all, My first rep is this somewhat terrible speedmaster chrono, but with no chrono functions. Basically, they added day date functions in place of the chrono functions. Also, the watch runs really fast. If I set the time at 9am in the morning, it will be between 5 and 10 minutes ahead by 5pm (it doesn't seem consistent). So, since I am definitely going to keep at this hobby for a long time, I figured now is the time to start experimenting with watch repair. I am a mechanical engineer, and I am very good with my hands. As a noob, my question is, where do I start? This particular rep is a perfect starting point for me. No worries here if I mess it up. But how do I adjust the timing when it is that off? Is this a common issue with the really cheap reps? Any help and/or advise will be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

This was my very first rep I ever purchased. Got it at Santee Alley. I cannot figure out what this is supposed to be. Looks like a Speedmaster Pro but with Day Date markings instead of the Chrono markings. Did they ever even make a watch like this?

Well my friend is one of those types of people who has to have the newest toys, so by the time the photo competition is ready to go, it wouldn't surprise me if he had the newer D3X! Then I guess I will just have to make do with that one instead!

I may be new, but count me in! I will have to hit up my friend to borrow his new Nikon D3 now that I have a good excuse to ask him!

I would love to see some pics of these two beauties! I have been lusting after a good rep of a C1 for a while now, and I am glad you mentioned that they work well on smaller wrists. That was my one concern about that particular watch. Of the two, do you have a favorite color? If you wouldn't mind, could you post a pic of the watches on your wrist so I can see how it looks?

So, I just joined this forum a couple of days ago and I love it. The information you guys have here is so informative and helpful. One thing everyone keeps saying is to use the search function before posting questions on subjects which may have already been covered. Well I have tried this a few times, and so far, I have had zero luck. One example is I read Toad's review on the Omega DeVille Hour Vision earlier today (which was incredible!). Being that the first rep I purchased was an Hour Vision, I thought I would read up some more about it. So I typed in Omega Hour Vision in the search field, and nothing came up! Now I am thinking to myself, how is this possible? I just read a review on the hour vision, so I know there is at least one posting about it. I thought it was weird, but I didn't do anything about it. Then a little later on, I tried it again, and a whole bunch of postings popped up. My question is - is the search engine intermittent, or am I just missing something here (and yes, I know a few things about computers, so its not a computer illiteracy issue) Just curious if anyone else has had this issue, or if there is a "special" way to execute searches. Thanks!

Well considering the bevy of rep sellers around LA, you would think someone has some info on a rep friendly watch repair shop. Especially given the many, many, many poor quality reps for sale in downtown.
