Man... While I love the 16520, there comes a point where one has to diversify! Even if just a little... Though I'm sure that those collection owners likely have a ton of other pieces (and are only showing their Zenith portion of their watches).
Still, I can appreciate their taste in timepieces
You would also have to re-profile the lugs as they're too thick, new case back, new crystal, etc. Possible? Yes. Worth the time and effort? With that He Valve, I'd say no. It would be better to just get a 1680 and start with that...
My post was more in reference to being able to purchase a WM9 for $500, along with the fact that WM9's pieces are of excellent quality. Since WM9's 16600 SD isn't released as of yet, I cannot comment specifically to that model, though it is relevant to the topic.
I did pick up these two for $500.00 per, brand new direct from WM9...
But these were purchased as part of their pre-order campaigns, so the pricing was a little more reasonable
Ultimately depends on what watch you're planning on applying this finish to. Me, I'd say get all 3; you may find in some cases that you might only need fine or medium, but some applications may require a coarse finish. You may also find success in applying a coarse brushing first and smoothing out with the medium or fine.
You have to reduce the size of the ring in order for the movement to fit the case correctly. You can use a file or dremel tool to do this, but it would be best to use a lathe to turn the correct (and precise) diameter....
Hmmmm... Seems odd that the bezel is inbetween sizes. I have no idea what that insert would be intended for?
Will the vendor honor an exchange? Seems they should if the part is unusable...
Are you using a 1570 from a vintage 36mm DateJust (i.e. ref 1600)? Or from a 34mm Date (ref 1500)?
If you got the movement from a 1601, you may need to modify the ring that secures the datewheel to the movement...
Just the way the movement is designed; the reset lever is slightly offset, similar to a V23/V72.
BTW, looking at Phong's case, it appears as though his may have the correct spacing...
