  1. if i get this one, i properly have to sell my DSN's Fifty Fathom diver!
  2. at 1 point I nearly did that, why? because he took too long to finish one job. Not because he is lazy simply because he is too busy and he is rep friendly Swiss trained watchmaker. He rates are very reasonable too. Especially for us from down under, finding a second good rep friendly watchmaker is a pain in the bottom.
  3. 10 min for Repgeek = minimum 10 days for me
  4. My watchmaker is asking me to get some of these for him as he is TOO busy with his works. Google around, found Tritec but I think they only deal with company not individual. This old guy (my watchsmith) insisted to have only Swiss Luminova C3, that makes even harder for me. Other lume makers even claim to stay longer than this luminova, but this old guy never listens. so at this point, only hunt for Swiss Super-LumiNova® pigment..................... Anyone is selling out there? Please let me know. regards ck
  5. Tell me what model is this, manual or auto & what movement it has?? Much appreciated. I attempted to search for this model but failed. Any inputs are appreciated. ck
  6. Looks like Greed has won both of you hearts!! Will go and get one. Hmm, which one should I pick?
  7. the more I read this thread the more confuse I get!! Tell me, which one will you choose if you only have enough money for just 1 bottle(full size)?? I really like something that is versatile and can be worn daily in any occasions.
  8. With close examined, when i pull the stem to the right, I noticed the gear is part of the stem. And there is no way you can pull the stem out as the movement ring is there to block. correct me if I'm wrong!
  9. Tried to remove by pressing the button(between 2 screws) but it wouldn't do the trick. Please help if you know how to. Thanks for reading
  10. This is replied from Sean........... HI CK, My Sub case set 16610 only can fit ca.3135 or 3035 movement, not eta movement. this case set sell for three till now, never have movement fit problem. Regards Sean
  11. at one point, I was thinking to use Sean's 16610 to mod, but wasn't sure whether it fits 3035 or just 3135 only. Then you have to find dial, hands set, bracelet to match. Engraving inside the caseback has funny numbers start with 2xxx, is this similar to gen??
  12. Personally I don't like datejust, and the only option for me is sub or sea-dweller! To build a franken watch, a correct case(15xxx or 16xxx, not 16610 though) is a must. Most of the dealers carry either older or modern models of subs. Nothing in between really unless you prepare to go with expensive one from NDT, Yuki or Phong. Perhaps send to our modder to mod! Searching is continuing but stressful.................. Thanks for reading. ck
  13. will Sean 16610 case fit ETA 2836 or 2824?
  14. will Sean's case fit ETA 2836 or 2824? (Stem alignment on the 2836 and 3035 are similar. Also, alignment on the 3135 and the 2824 are similar)
  15. Most of the times he sells 116660 and that's probably his best case at present. Might just have to send him an email to check...........
  16. pm'ed BK to see whether his 16610 case takes gen3035??
  17. The other day I browsed through ebay and found a an interesting review written by one of the Rolex seller. I donno whether any evidences support this statement. ROLEX Submariner Date Ref. 168000 Sapphire Crystal Toward the end of the production run of the Ref. 16800, for only about nine months, Rolex delivered a Ref. 168000 (note the extra zero) in which the quality of the stainless steel was upgraded from grade 316 to grade 904. The Rolex Submariner Date Ref. 168000 used the same case as the later Ref. 16610, but with the movement and dial of the earlier Ref. 16800. ROLEX Submariner Date Ref. 16800: First Sapphire Crystal Transitional model In the early 1980's the Ref. 1680 was the first fitted with a synthetic sapphire crystal and the caliber 3035 movement and renumbered Ref. 16800. The early version of the Rolex Submariner Date Ref. 16800 is considered transitional since the model still carried the matt dial but was now rated to 300 meters (1000 feet) and equipped with the new movement. The present Rolex Submariner Date watch is the transitional version of the Ref. 16800. If this is true, we can use 16610 case to house 3035 for 168000 provided that both 3035 & 3135 having the same diameter. Any Rolex experts please chime in.................... Thanks for reading. ck p/s: Stole the photo from net, sorry.
  18. Thank you all for your inputs. Mysteries solved. At least this is not clone/asian copy... I'm happy man now.................
