  1. [censored] in a meat grinder....!! I bet you are a barrel of laughs on a Saturday night Mike!! But the analogy is off mate.... because the consequence of the actions isnt as drastic... and to assume common sense in anyone is a fatal mistake to make Thankfully common sense does prevail here generally but more by luck than judgement We will never escape the guys who see this hobby as some sort of ego trip or justify their posts on gen forums as educational or experimental to underline a lack of gen knowledge etc.. I think before this one it was a rep 390 I saw posted up on the gen forum as a "gift.." blah blah... The answer to these sorts of guys is .... There aint one... you cant spot them till the horse has bolted.... so to speak... But there is a case for some way to ensure new members are encouraged to read the introduction threads and learn to get round the place... that I believe is our responsibility as a community... maybe in our responses to first posts or introduction posts etc... I aint sure... Maybe there is an arguement for cloaking thsi site in a more effective way... who knows..I am sure its has been discussed before.. And I am sure all of you will agree dispite the need for RWG to be out there...there is an increased interest in these sorts of sites and the info they contain which could very well ensure its demise in the current climate of anti-counterfeiting measures... At the moment I am sure this site and others has been and is more so now being used as a source of info and intel for interested parties especially as some particular brands in rep terms become better and more accurate... Though regardless of this particular issue I still get more annoyed at the guys who join on here post thier first thread about where and what is the best and most accurate and then trot off to order get disappointed because the service isnt the same as buying from a high street shop and then decide to make waves through PP claims... declarations of scamming and all the other ..or that the watch isnt as perfect as it should and isnt a 100% gen like and decide they want a refund..blah blah !! And then theres the QC pics...and the threads and PMs .... Grrrrrr!!
  2. What about 2 week read only followed by exam requiring 95% pass..... then an oath of allegiance...
  3. The issue isnt really about reemphasising the more common sense need to know facts about this hobby....... The issue is that the majority of the new guys just cant be arsed to read a single thread when they join....they dont make any effort to read the noob guides... "obviously they are for real noobs not someone like me.." Personally I think any new members should be made to read only for first 2 weeks... except maybe allowed to post in intro section... and accept when registering that during that time they will read and accept certain links written by more senior guys on here to guide the new members....extreme maybe... but hey... May be they wont but then they have no excuse when they cross any lines.... Afterall i wonder how many will read this...
  4. Just saw this mate... first off...I hope the surgery went well mate Thats a great review and some fantastic pics I know how long these reviews take having tried a few myself so I am grateful for your big effort...Thank you Its always good to see these less commonly discussed watches on here and seeing them in such detail... I recall posting a fake spotter of Oris' on here a while back and was always surprised that the makers didnt lift thier game a bit...but I guess its becaiuse the Oris is foremost considered a lesser gen watch by the makers and given the prices of the gens especially in grey and used markets there isnt a need to make a more expensive rep version... Personally I love the size but there is something about these models that make me think its trying to be something else.... but I guess you could say that about most gen divers.... I wouldnt mind trying one on...but I have never seen one in the flesh.... This review will certainly make me make more of an effort to do so Thanks mate
  5. The H has better lume, better AR, and better sized crono hand... build IMHO is slightly better but its subjective I guess... Carbon Fibre dials are better from H maker by a mile.. V6 is generally better over the model range....most notably crystal height and movement..... but a lot of V6 models have issues that you would need to mod...especially the strong blue AR I also prefer the ceramic from the H maker.... Plus H does tungsten bezels if you are looking at those models the TAG maker doesnt thiers is Ti...
  6. +1 If I went for any of the H makers Ls then I would donor a full caseset from the noob especially from the latest Ls and LMs
  7. But that depends on the model mate A lot of HBBs have colourless AR... some have a lot of blue some have a little....its a big a minefield as PAMs
  8. Thats it !! Teejay. .... can you tell me where I might find them ?
  9. Really !!??? Cant say I noticed ;) Apart from the more obvious reasons some of which have been mentioned above ...There is a lot of personal relationships at play here between various dealers and various makers.... if you take Rochest for example...he cannot deal with H maker after a falling out... Whenever I picture the makers dealing with the dealers my mind pictures a film I saw.... where a chinese lady is saying " What you want.!!! "......"and then"......"and then "....
  10. It might be that you dont even appear to have made an effort to get to know this forum...you joined you posted a question thats been discussed previously and dont seem to be even bothered to use the search tool... I hope you find what you want...good luck
  11. Thanks mate... that pic helps... its the same... Lovely pics though mate
  12. I got mine from Sead Cheaper than the those mentioned too
  13. Has Uwe updated his AR recently? His AR always had a yellow/golden hue... more noticeable on black dials I saw some of his recent stuff back from spa work.. and they were same as previously...
  14. Congrats on the good fortune Be interested to see the case back mate.... Post a pic please ....
  15. I think the need is less than people might believe with this rep... The issue of thickening is neglible unless you have the gen next to the rep... I can only make my judgement based on holding my V3 next to the gen... it is comparable... as for intensity and longevity AP are reknowned for thier poor lume and significant consistency issues in a similar way to B&R etc You only have to look at the gen forum discussions to establish that fact... Personally I think your money is better spent on Bart colorless AR cyclops and leave it at that....
  16. Very nice mate... Some lovely pics and beautiful watches with great strap choices Thanks for sharing I can feel the love
