  1. Dont be daft...after that sort of night you wouldnt remember a thing... You would have to rely on the witnesses statements given in court !!
  2. Nice job mate Maybe later you will consider breaking the strap down completely and doing the brushed bases with the polished CG links I think that would suit the watch better IMHO GioArmani did a great tute on doing a brushed finish
  3. Mate I suggest you go to the strap dealers/makers on here or other forums including Risti etc... you will see some of the most buttery soft straps in their pics... I think the softest I had was from Timebands.... he made me a really soft PAM strap in vintage style... but the guys that can and do are out there but there are just so many to mention

    Finally!

Lovely mate...wear it well But please whats with the deckchair material !!
  5. If you ever need the tone lowered then I am your man !! I think from my own experience with GTHARN (when he posted his first issue with Lunarglide)... and going by his replies on that to me and the fact he would appear to be a Brit that he had a preconception of dealing and colecting in this hobby and his expectations werent either capable or willing to adjust to this very unique area of the hobby... In not being able or willing to make that adjustment he reacted in what we and others would consider an inappropraite way... This place needs some time to get use to... the game itself is difficult enough but when you throw in the diversity of this forum and the way we are all use to dealing with people here and how that varies in our own real worlds then what has happened here is an easy trap to fall into...even if you might be a nice guy.. This is a lesson to any guy new on here to read the guides, to get use to the place and the people and get use to how we interact with each other... as a community this is a great place to be and is shared with some fantastic blokes...and its a priviledge to be here and have the support this forum gives to us all as enthusiasts and collectors.. And as a priviledge these sort of guys should be aware that if they dont or wont make that adjustment then they arent welcome... Just my pennies worth
  6. The A series buckles go for anything from $250 to $450 on Risti... I cant recall seeing them for more than that,,, A gen Pre V buckle would be around a grand up... These were thumbnails style not tang and 22mm....the straps are good money too... MIA
  7. Its a thumb nail.... Early OP PreA...later ardillion buckles were single screw Over priced yes but rare nowadays..... Still worth more than current gen... I hope you dont see a gen PreV buckle.... you will be doing cartwheels over that price!!
  8. You can put me on the list... still have some nice old vinyls... Maiden, Sabbath, Purple, so many to mention even Ted Nugent ....
  9. LOL !! Analisti !! Nice one mate... There are a few about... as ST says..DSN ..self builds and variants of the tabbaco dial... in sales section and latter on dealers Or maybe that EL 36 on sales?
  10. For a good one then you would need to build it... or find one already built.... other than that there arent any decent versions OTB.. But it can and has been done to a great franken level.. And yuck -1 for a 360...
  11. There are a few tricks... but one i use is ... Drop a droplet of water on it as it lays on a flat surface (might need to remove bracelet etc but just make sure watch is level.... ) then see what the droplet does..if it sits as a drop and doesnt move its sapphire if it spreads out its a mineral..do it a few times just to be sure..
  12. We didnt want to say anything Ken...
  13. Great work Rob.. OOI though mate.... I thought the crown (Brevet style) varied on some versions... I know Brevet just means 'copyright' or 'trademark' and thought that the crowns varied in size and knurling? Is that right or was it the Brevet style as above and then the different variations like yours? Nice work on the shaping...I know how hard this is mate...you done a great job...Its nice to see this sort of stuff outside the enigma that is VDB
  14. Marathon (UK name for Snickers)
  15. First off I would try the finger nail feel across the scratch... though i am not aware of any DSSDs with AR OTB. If you feel the scratch then it is what it is.... if you dont then try some Rouge, or even capecod or what I use to remove AR (without a dremel) is stainless steel cleaner and microfibre cloth. You should quickly see any AR residue coming off the area you are rubbing holding it to light at an angle... However I thgink you will find its a scratch of the crystal.... you can get a special paste with is made specifically to help reduce or remove crystal scratches..(assuming its sapphire and not synthetic) You can get these paste sets from most watch tool suppliers or eBay but I would first try Offshore's WatchBitz section in the TDs section.... you will also find tutorials in the How To's and also on Youtube The process is easy but requires a stage approach and care
  16. Go with what Tanya said.. They are the better versions and closest without mods... but whatever go with latest Noob models Though the Fiddy and 217 just dont do it on the wrist...
  17. I reckon Wall street will win...
  18. She must really hate you mate !! Only kidding... congrats mate
  19. mate it aint that bad to be honest.. ...I would have no problem wearing it
  20. The leather cleaner is called a Deglazer usually and you must be careful when used on any croco print but it will remove the top finish on any leather strap but once you do thsi you can use a proper leather dye instead of paint.... any finish is possible you jsut need to use different undecoats to achieve different top coats or finishes...just be careful with paints as these may eventually crack on the leather as its worn more and in reaction to normal exposure... The leather dye will also dye the stitching if you dont want to thread it (except of course lighter than leather finish ).... you can then decide on final finish ie matt, semi gloss or gloss... any shoe shop will have this stuff or of course the bay.. You can then refinsh the edges with EdgeKote which is a plastic finish leather paint and gives a hard plastic finish... Great write up mate and I love the restitching..
