Omega Ploprof With Swiss ETA Now Available ...
thogaa replied to wheaton26's topic in The Omega Area
Now that was cruel -
MAHLER you've outdone yourself this time I bought the Montbr Legende as a result of seeing your excellent review. The great quality of this rep made me think I could easily live with the sunken DW - Now there's a cure Truly fantastic mod to a beautyful watch. Thanks man
-
That's the option I chose. I could have sent it back for exchange but the factory is out of grey dials at the moment. The watch is off to Francisco as soon as the hand set arrives and he can assemble the movement right. Maybe the cartel should offer a kit version of their AP's at a better price - unassembled?
-
I don't get why the dealers still dropships when they could avoid almost any of the issues I have had by simply inspecting the watch before shipping it half way round the earth. What triggers me is when I pay the cost of returning the watch for exchange and the exchange getting seized by customs. So I loose both the watch and the money. Great! They should do little or no QC of cheap reps and EVERY single high end rep should be tested. How can they ship out a POS watch having charged half a grand or more? Anyway spring is comming so I will do a spring clean of my sock drawer and hand some of the watches over to the Forum. - All of my AP's are off to Francisco to be modded and serviced. I accept that there are a few lemons to be had when buying from our Asian friends - and this thread is most of all to share the experience and get you to stay alert. I am truly happy with the ones that actually work and I'm sure when proper service and TLC have been applied to the rest of the keepers they will be cherished just as much as my gens.

Based on the above here are the numbers ETZ PC TRUSTY WATCHEDEN Bought 3 9 21 6 Perfect 0 3 7 1 Defect 3 6 14 5 My conclusion: If you buy from ETZ you could expect 100% failure Watcheden comes in second at only 83% failure Both PC and trusty offers the best purchase at only 67% failure So IMO from the best dealers here expect 1/3 watches to be perfect.

Josh has kindly shipped out a set of hands for my $600 golden Airfix watch Great hobby this is I can't help comparing this to the electronic kits I used to purchase when I was a kid - You got an envelope with a pile of junk that you could solder and screw together to make something work like a piece of kit you could have bought at 1/10 the price at the hardware store. - But most importantly had fun while doing so I am expecting a Safari to arrive today - I'll keep you posted
-
Oh I forgot to mention the Montbrillant Legende where the lug screw broke some time before Christmas. Still waiting for replacement screws but that's only four months now. Still it's just a hobby
-
Thanks I'll stop ordering stuff for a while trying to settle all the issues I have at the moment and maybe ship a big box of junk to my favourite watch maker having him sort it all out
-
Roo Black Themes - broken clasp and missing screw: parts received 34 days upon delivery Roo Silver Themes - return shipped (along with ): will be repaired Roo RG awaiting reply from dealer Hard not to mention the two Skylands and two Super Avengers I've sent back. Oh and the latest Blue submariner ETA with non functioning date
-
Hate to say that two more Roos are in the mail. I find it entertaining - and who knows? Maybe one day I'll get a watch that's perfect? Still the movement seems a bit better than the silver themes...
-
It took a few lessons though
-
This one is from Joshua - nothing wrong with that. He offers excellent service in replacing a lot of stuff, but I still have to cover return shipping and wait another two weeks for replacements or parts to arrive.
-
Oh - In the above please do not think I am complaining about aftersales from my dealer - only want to show you what QC from the factories let through...
-
Never ending story. RG Roo arrived today: Is that superglue?
-
It's the first time I've seen the "outward Office of Exchange" message - that just puzzled me a bit. Thanks
