I just used the both palms of my hand and unscrewed the caseback of my last daytona. And giorgio is right, there is no zenith movement with seconds at 6... Giorgio, I actually think this IS a faux chronograph model... because of the subdial spacing... I don't believe the seconds are at 6... I think it is the main second hand, and the 3 subdials are probably the day, month and 24 hour... I might be wrong though... UB7... I would be interested to find our whch rep community highly recommended bluefakes to you, as far as i know it is a scam site... Don't worry... you got here and you will learn a lot on this forum... start by upgrading to VIP to support the forum and it gets better!!! Andrew's daytona will be much much better than the one you have now... do read up on the daytona movements though... some members have had problems with it... although mine worked perfect! Just don't play with the chrono's immediately after u receive the watch or you will mess up the hand alignment... make sure you fully wind the watch before you play with chrono's... Good Luck!

are you serious giorgio??? I thought there was no such thing as ITALIAN reps??? am I wrong?
-
sorry to burst your bubble UB7, but I think you were kinda scammed by bluefakes... i am quite sure your watch does not have a zenith movt...

I thought the daytona with 3 and 9 subdials centred on the watch was supposed to have running seconds at 9, and the newer (01) daytonas had the 3 and 9 subdials slightly above centre and seconds at 6? Correct me if I am wrong... I also thought the zenith daytona movement was only for seconds at 9??? I am confused...

I see... might do a search on the electrical wire tip... thanks for that. But i don't have a tool that can get the lever pin out... it is just a normal pin pusher tool for bracelets? By the way, is there still any group buy of gen pam crowns going on???
-
Thanks Kruzer!!! The CG fits my case pretty well... as far as my eye can see... so don't think that will need any shaving. The lever will definitely need some shaving though! Sigh... why does everything need to be so hard... I guess I will just leave it to the experts next time and just do bracelet resizing myself... hahaha... To be honest... I can tell any difference with the Jimmy CG and my 029 CG apart from the fact that the Jimmy lever is really firm and not wobbly like the one on the 029 now. Visually I can't tell....

bump... any update on this? I will probably get another white date wheel only... so that makes 2 white datewheels for me in total... would like to know price too... thanks. -
never mind... I think I will leave it to an expert! I tried installing the jimmy cg but it does not fit the rep crown... might need to shave the lever... not sure... oh well...
-
I actually managed to kind of get it in... i used a pair of pliars and had cloth around the cg to prevent scratches... managed to get the pin in about 95%... but then after that the lever won't close properly, after i close it, it will open slightly... I think a bit of the rubber sleeve is caught in the pin somewhere...
-
Hi I was just a bit bored and decided to give it a try installing the jimmy CG by myself. It is very simple I guess, took a few tries to get the rubber sleeve to fully fit into the guard, but thats done already! Now I am stuck at trying to put the lever onto the guard. The wee pin that comes with it... Is there a special trick to put it in? It is quite a tight fit and i have tried pushing and lightly hammering with no luck so far... dont dare to hammer it too hard as I dont want to scratch or ruin the cg... can anyone help? Thanks!

on another note laz... do you find that the tropic127 crystal scratches easily? it is made of plexiglass right? I am very bad with scratching watches... i am nervous...

what about in terms of accuracy... would you have a clue? I am still hopeless after reading all the posts on vintage mbw's... 1680 vs 1665.... and then for the 1665 you have white, single red and double red... so many choices...
-
nice one laz... I am in the process of getting an mbk myself... but dunno which one to go for... which do you prefer the most out of your lot? 1680 or 1665? Thanks

Ok... I have a bit more time before the trip so I will do a bit more searching... and also shop around to see what else there is when i am there....

I was trying to justify buying a GMTII so I tried to search for a post I had seen a long time ago about the correct way to set the GMT II. Could not find it... so went to find it on google instead and found this: http://www.koniaris.com/rolex/ After reading it over and over... I still don't quite get it... I remember the post either on RWG1 or RWG2 seemed to make it much simpler!!! Sigh.... got a headache from reading all that now!!!

now i am getting confused!!! haha... its ok... keep the recommendations coming!!!

Angus has added quite a number of watches today... I like the 111H... pity it is not sandwich dial. -
Hi I am looking to get myself a gen Rolex next year when I go on my holidays. I will be going to Singapore, Thailand and Malaysia. First of all, looking for suggestions on which model to get. Some choices in my head now: 1. Two-tone GMTII with ceramic bezel. 2. Two-tone Submariner (black or blue dial) 3. SS Submariner Any other suggestions welcome... Also, does anyone know where to get the cheapest gen Rolex from an AD in those 3 countries? Thanks!!!

Some of you might remember my post last month about how I took my girlfriends chanel j12 to get the bracelet resized at a watchmaker and how they broke the link on the clasp... well, I emailed Josh and he sent me a replacement clasp at no charge. After I got the replacement clasp, I was wary to bring the watch to be resized at watchmakers anymore... so i decided to try it myself. To my surprise, it was very easy and I had the tools to do it all along! First of all I had a pin pusher tool in my screwdriver set so that is what i used to push the pin on the link. the pin popped out on the other end and i then used a small flathead scredriver to pry the pin out. Be careful not to touch the ceramic with the screw as you might scratch it. This is quite simple, just use the head of the screwdriver and put it under the pin and pull it out. After this is done... just resize the bracelet to whatever size you like and when you put it together... dont use a hammer to hammer the pin in as you will very likely break the ceramic! All I did was use my tweezer I had in my screwdriver set. This is how I did it, I put the pin in the link and pushed as much as I could with my fingers. I then sat the watch on its side on a flat surface (with the bracelet on the flat surface only and the watch face hanging over the edge so I could get a flat surface - I had the pin with the smooth surface facing up, not the one with the hole to push the pin pusher tool in), I then used my tweezer, turned it to the flat wide side... with two hands on the tweezer and push the whole tweezer downwards - the pin should clip into place with some slight force. This way, you have a very large surface area of the tweezer so you wont miss the pin and hit tre ceramic link. Hope the above helps anyone trying to do this in the future - I am not very good at describing with words so if you have any problems just ask me. Richard
