Don't know why it didn't show. Here's ole smudgy

@dbane883 I see your smudge and raise you a smudge.
-
smudge is the shape of the coronet (crown).
if you notice its not really even on the left and the right, kinda pulls out on the left and dips in on the right, hence, looks "smudged"

Smudge dial with crossing ft is correct pre comex 5514 dial

Being sold as gen because it is. Had a gen one a few years back. Inserts gen just the lighting. And $4500 is not a deal. It's actually on the high side for this model.
Do your homework guys. There has never been a good rep of the 14060. This watch is legit.

+1 on Andrew here in NYC and Jacek in SanFran. 2 guys you cant go wrong with and if they dont have what you want they will get it for you

Alligoat and Lions, where do you guys suggest looking for good vintage pieces? I like to look on watchrecon and elitedealseeker since these aggregate the sales listings from all the gen boards, but are there any specific places or dealers that you would recommend? Does DavidSW or any of the trusted sellers over on TRF deal with vintages? I still owe myself a birth year watch for my 40th and I'm in absolutely no rush at all. Buy the dealer, then the watch, as we always say in our world...

Seems like you guys in Europe always pay more for Rolex watches, maybe watches in general.
Here in the states, I'd figure you could pick up that model of 1675 for $4,000-5,000 usd.
Watch looks good to me and I'd figure the hands are tritium like the dial- they appear to match to me.
Was thinking the same thing. 4500-5k max for that.

I knew as well since I know the whence one came from

You're bike build is ALMOST as good as your watch builds

Its horrid. Too wide(fat). Too thick. Lugs are wrong shape. Rehaut too deep. CGs are brutal. I can't look anymore.
My gen 5513:
@dane883, why dont you say how you really feel??? Nice mf by the way

great, congrats

one more thing, look at the 12 and 6 o'clock markers. Alignment is completely off. If the seller wont refund, I hope you used paypal cause this is clearly a fake and if advertised as gen pp will give you your money back no doubt.
good luck

I see better, was on my phone before. rep

Coronet looks fine but the printing is another story. Could be a late run when the printing isn't as sharp. Numbers on chronos are different. Not sure of authenticity.

rolex used to make a pretty accurate one

great one. enjoy

@dbane883 with you on the bezel. teeth are a little shallow. Same insert as mine so price estimation is right, possibly worth a little more.

That's a serif dial. In the early 5 million serial range so 79 is unlikely, more like 77. The case may have a 79 serial but that dial is earlier.
This looks like the dial on that watch http://www.network54.com/Forum/539572/message/1345660278/5513--5.09mil+SN%2C+feet+first+with+serif+lume+bars--posted+by+Evisu140
Cracked my gen Fat Fonts insert!
in General Discussion

I was trying to get it into a gen bezel (before it was cracked with gen tri pearl), and despite the fact that both items are gen, it wouldnt budge. SO, I bent it ever so slightly and snap, pearl went flying off into the abyss.
LUCKY for me I found the pearl on the floor, but want to use it for a faded insert I have yet to source. So ole mkIII sitting in the parts box, broken head and broken heart
