  1. I'm in Perth.. I don't mind posting it. I was just trying to stay within Oz. If possible, I'd like it serviced whilst it's apart.. if not, that's OK. I just miss wearing it. Thanks for the help.
  2. OK.. I've had my Ingy for a number of months now and all has been great. However, yesterday I looked at it and noticed that the second hand had fallen off.. Since I've never had to have anything repaired or modded before, can anyone suggest how I would go about it here in Oz? I got the watch from a fellow in the Netherlands. It has a swiss movement, the datewheel fix and has been serviced and lumed by Domi in the past, (if I recall correctly). Many thanks gents!
  3. As the lucky winner of the silver Carrera in the mega raffle, (thanks again guys!), I got it today and it does have a cream colored sub-dial at 9 o'clock. Beautiful watch I must say, and having never been a huge fan of Tag I was quite surprised at how much I like it. The only visible difference I see between it and what Tag has on their site is that the bezel on mine is black and on the gen it's SS.
  4. Art Arfons might beg to differ... http://www.uniquecarsandparts.com.au/world_land_speed_record_37.htm
  5. Man, with all of that orange, I thought the Great Pumpkin had dropped by....
  6. Years back when I was living in Houston, I ordered some stuff and had it shipped via UPS.. Weeks later when it didn't arrive I chased it up and they said they delivered it to me.. When I asked for verification they hemmed and hawed and finally said, "We didn't recognize the address and since we had a customer with the same name (5 miles away) we delivered it to him.. they wouldn't even offer to retrieve it! I went over and introduced myself and the guys wife turned white.. He wouldn't come to the door but they gave me my stuff.. missing some pieces. Another time I filed a claim against obvious damage to a monitor I shipped back to Hitachi for servicing.. They denied the claim up to when I sent a bunch of stuff to their CEO via registered mail that had to be signed for... It was settled in 24hours. I will not use UPS for anything unless I have to. even then I may wait. Good luck.
  7. 2. Hip-Hip Hooray! +1 on the thanks for your effort Lani... And to all of the good folks on here who've helped me even in the short time I've been around. Glad to be a part of this site.
  8. Thanks Fxr, once again! I'll order a toolkit from Watchbitz and then drop you a note on how to do this if that's alright. I'll probably let someone else do the dial though.. I'll try to get a few 'beater' reps to practice on before I tear into anything of value.. I'll be glad to find a few links too so that I can just wear it confortably.. LOL Peace!
  9. Welp, it's here! and it's a beaut! The bracelet is too short and needs 1-1.5 links added for my comfort. My impressions.. Solid! and beautiful Seems to keep time spot-on. I have only two issues with this watch that I'll have rectified.. 1. A spot on the dial between 6 and 7 (you can make it out in the pics), and the datewheel is just a tad off center.. Small things that you would have to look for granted, but I'll have them corrected all the same.. This watch will end up being my favorite.. Aside from being too tight, it fits well.. weight, size, etc... Thanks to everyone for the help with this.. It's a great start!
  10. Will do... (I'll have to read through the photography section now... LOL) It's coming from the opposite end of the earth so it will take a few days to get here, but I'm already anxious to wear it... I'll update then... (is it here yet?............is it here yet?..............is it here yet?.....................is it here yet?...................is it here yet?)
  11. I haven't used Sam (yet), but when we go to HK end of the year I will get at least one suit made by him just to say that I did. Sams Tailors ( http://www.samstailor.biz/ ) is probably one of the best. From what I've heard his prices are better than you would think. Good luck and let us know how it went..
  12. Well, to update, I've pulled the trigger on one from a fellow on RG.. Here's the description: Specs: - Verified swiss ETA 2824-2, serviced last month by Domenico - Old version dial (with much better texture than the ones currently sold) - Lello datewheel - k2222 double AR (exactly the same color as gen) - oiled bracelet I figure that with the DW & service being already done I should be OK for awhile. The other two things that Ubi pointed out look OK as well. I'm new to all of this so I guess I'm taking a risk but you gotta start somewhere.. I'll take some pics and post when I get it. Thanks again everyone! Breitling coming up!
  13. They look deeper on the gen as well. May just be the pics though.
  14. Any chance we'll see the grey pearl come along???
  15. Nice Vid, thanks.. Beautiful work on these watches.
  16. Andy and Ubi, Thanks! Great info and helping to put me at ease... (you too Chief) I definately want the Swiss ETA.. I think I'll sleep on this and see how I feel in the morning.. (Like I don't already know) I'll post back on how it goes...
  17. Noob here.. (at 50 I really hate that word). I'm looking to get my first rep watch. I always thought it would be a Brietling, (I tried on a gen a few years ago), but I am really taken with the Ingenuier in SS. Being new, I'm making the assumption that the Swiss ETA 2824-2 is prefferable to the Asian version.., yes? Are these good quality replicas? What should I watch for/ask about? Many thanks for leading me through this first one..
  18. That's a Beaut! OP. I'd never paid much attention or even really noticed IWC before coming to this site... But after only a few days I have seen at least three that I want..
  19. Noob... Lovin the Brietlings though..

  20. If you look around, Loctite also makes a 'purple' (I cannot recall the number), that is specifically for tiny screws and such. I think it's might be more appropriate for something like this than blue.. (will hold things in place but easier to unfasten later).
