  1. Yepp By -Tor,Gen Insert is in the pipeline.... I manage to grind down the Bezel, that the Insert snaps in... I post some pics of the progress...
  2. You must drill up to 2,8mm or 2,9mm ... First time i used my dremel... I think a hand drill will work better... There is more control about the work.. You can get Cobaltdrills in all dimensions... After you have drilled to the right dimensons, you must grind down the hole, that the Tube sits flush on the case... After that retapping...
  3. Yes man... But on the MBW the hole is about 2,5mm and its low on the case... You must drill up in 0,1mm steps, when you don't, you see where you drilled on back of the case... Not like on CN Subs..
  4. yes it could,no damage really but small dinks on the dial...
  5. I have changed the Overlay on my Sub too.. I think its a big improvment.. Look here.. My 1680
  6. I hope you get one.... ..and after some time i wiil see a great Frankensub...
  7. Thats a good choice to become a good Moddingbase... Put the Dial and the datewheel from your TTK Sub on the watch, also the bracelet.. Install Gen Tube and Crown,Gen Insert and you hgave great Frankensub.... But Caution its not so easy to install agen Tub,because you must drill the casehole and retapp..
  8. Man, i think nobody want to sell this beautys... Sorry man,so its a lazy monday...
  9. Thats not so hard to do... Take a small cutterknife to seperate the Overlay from the datewheel... Go paitently under the overlay and work around it... Than you get it easy off.... To allign it,take your time you can take it off severall times... After that you get good results.. Good luck..
  10. Yes,the MBW 1A comes from a other factory than the MBW 1B... I heard it too...
  11. I think you can try it. Its not so hard to do.... take a cheap rep to attempt to resamble...
  12. Hello, i decided to post This thread as a small tutorial... I wanted to change the datewheel from my SD 1665 because the Datenumbers where not bold enough for me... I bought a better datewheeloverlay on the bay.. Thats a short "how to do" tutorial for the selfmakers here.. Here we go Comparsion of the datewheels Resamble the movemt from the case The hands must bes set to 12' o clock, cover the dial with paper to beware it for damgages Remove the hands Remove the Dial, its glued on the movement, you get it off with a small nife, pull the Knife on the ring where the dial is glued.. Take the knife to pull off the datewheeloverlay paitently After the Ovelay is off, take some glue and put it on the datewheel and allign it. you get best results when you allign the numbers to the middle of the stem put the Dial on the movemnt for a test, when its okay, you can install the hands at 12'o clock than all the same way back and thats the result.. Hope this helps....
  13. There where a lot of variations of the TW cases.. The old mbw cases has a little smaller Rehaut, but there are also variations... I think when you compare the latest Twc ase and the mbw case there are no differnces... Look on my frankensub, you see nice deep rehaut, compare with Ubis Sub,i see no differnebces ... Ok Lugholes on mine,The new MBW case has no lugholes and same construction..

  15. Nice project, i love this Tudors too... Keep us updated about your progress...
  16. Thanks, hope you all understand the way to do... My englsh is not the best
  17. A good Dial is hard to find... sometimes you get lucky to find a spare Dial... But mostly they are expensive... Best way to get a damm good dial, buy TTK's Noobmariner... Best Dial you can get at the moment, the watch is about 100 bucks and its a great one...
  18. Hi, to allign your datewheel overlay is an easy fix... I have changed the overlay on my 1680 and my SD.. Her is the way to do it... Resamble the movemt from the case The hands must bes set to 12' o clock, cover the dial with paper to beware it for damgages Remove the hands Remove the Dial, its glued on the movement, you get it off with a small nife, pull the Knife on the ring where the dial is glued..
  19. Man, thats a stunning peace.... You did a great job, looks awesome... I think its perfect....
  20. PS Randy: I completely understand your passion to get more accurate watch and build it yourself. You're doing it for your enjoyement... to please YOURSELF mainly. That's what the watch collecting (or any hobby) should be all about.
  21. Many thanks Randy my friend... You've got me the inspiration to change the whole movement... And you are right thats the best thing i could do.... Looks damm good, like yours... A Gen Insert and thats it... Thnaks for Inspiration... i learned a lot from you...
  22. Ask WM He can change the dial and whole movemnt from the Sd to a 1680 Sub... It's the same dial
  23. Damm nice pair... Neil you source great watches...
  24. I think you can't find this case with lugholes anymore.. thats the reason i never sold it.. No difference, the same movement ETA 2836-2... You can by TTK's noobmariner,it's the same watch but Asian movement... It's cheaper but you must flip the Dial and the Datewheel overlay..
  25. @ Chieftang You see a simple way to get it... By a Modern MBW 1A and a MBW 1b from George, change the whole movement, the bracelet, put a gen tube and crown on it... And you have a great Franken Sub... the best you can sell the 1B after that change.. My Franken Sub had a bad dial,it bothers me a long time.... After i saw Ubi changed it on his franken, i thought... "Why not" it's a quick flip over... And Ubi is right Looks damm good i think...
