I have the Ultimate Best with the Swiss movement and love it. The GMT hand adjusts in hour increments. This is the first model I have owned that adjusts this way. It works the same way as my Mk II LRRP, which has a eta 2893-2 movement.
The Barrett Jackson auction was a couple of miles down the road. They took precautions and had no damage at all! I guess in the end it is all about who you deal with.
I work in the E&S insurance industry. This is the type of special event that we insure. Finding parts for some of these cars will be like trying to find a bakelite bezel for a GMT or an original hand set for a Bond sub. The claims will be out of this world!
Some of these cars took years to restore. You just can't drop most of them off to your local body shop and just say fix it. The lawsuits will be fast and furious ... no pun intended
You are tough Freddy, but I see your point. Yes, magnified 10 or 20 times and compared to the gen clasp side by side, you can see subtle differences. With no magnification and no gen to compare it too, I think it looks great.
