  1. This is a great site about all things shaving related. http://badgerandblade.com/
  2. They were raving about this one on TZ of all places. It looks pretty nice. http://www.minnor.com/proinfo.asp?proid=1240&protitle=Steel%20Schafer%20carbon%20fibre%20hand%20wind%20chronograph%20watch%203
  3. I need to clean it up a little and the ends need to be adjusted, but I think it look really good
  4. I sold mine for $625, but it had a smooth flip lock
  5. http://www.network54.com/Forum/78440/threa...se+to+refinish-
  6. It could be caused by moisture too.
  7. I have had QC problems with DW in the past, but nothing like this. It was usually the wrong parts bring shipped or less that stellar workmanship, but he always made it right in the end. If you are thinking about buying one of these Daytonas, I would contact Spin. I assume he buys the parts from DW and then services/mods the movement and assembles the watches. I own one of his Daytonas and have one on the way. The workmanship and QC is excellent
  8. I am looking for a phone that will work on the AT&T network. I don't need anything fancy, just something that works well. Thanks. Marty
  9. Is the date position different? Thanks. Marty
  10. Same here. Just using a regular bit in a hand held drill. It takes a light touch and good control of the bit to do this. I would not attempt it using a drill press.
  11. This is one bad ass replica! http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/20...hter-plane.html
  12. Ditto. As Kurt said, what the bottom of the hole or you will cut away the edge of the case. Marty
  13. The tropic is the crystal that came on the watch. I have a gen on order. The crown/tube will also be replaced with gen parts, although the rep crown/tube are working fine. You can tell that it is a 7750 by the sub dial spacing, which is slightly wider. The difference is subtle. I think having the asymetrical pushers is more important. Take a look at the attached thread. http://www.rwg.cc/members/Daytona-6263-que...tml&hl=6263
  14. I realize you can't tell much from a single pic, but visually speaking, does it look ok?
  15. Yep, asymmetrical pushers and a 7750 which has been serviced and reducing and reversing wheels removed (to mimic a manual wind movement). The hacking lever has also been removed.
  16. What's the difference? Is it just the addition of the hour wheel for the GMT hand or is it more involved? Thanks. Marty
  17. I think there are better crown/tube designs out there, but I would not call the Omega rubbish. I have owned a number of gen Omega Seamaster's and never had a problem. I do think you need to be careful with these crowns. If you force them, you can strip them. I always started by turning the crown counter-clockwise with light pressure until I felt it seat and then screwed it down. It always worked for me.
  18. I am thinking about building a 1680 with Phong case and dial, gen 1570 movement ... etc. I have modded a number of MBW 1680's, but have always been bothered by the small flaws that can't be corrected (or easily corrected); like crown placement, date wheel printing/alignment, etc. Before I dump a lot of money in this project, I would like to hear from those who have built these super Frankens. Is the end result more gen like or will I need to bite the bullet and start saving for a gen to be happy?
  19. There was a post a couple of months ago about a new source for replacement cases. They looked similar to Phong's but were less than half the cost. Does anyone have that post or a link to the site? I have searched for it and can't find anything.
