  1. I thought the same thing. This was beat to death on Repgeek and we still do not know who the modder is.
  2. http://www.network54.com/Forum/207593/mess...DEEP+SEA+.......
  3. I don't think the minute hand is that much darker. It is just that there is more surface area on the minute hand. I can make it lighter or the hour hand darker. I think the color on the minute hand is almost identical to the second hand. It really depends on the lighting. What do you think? Marty
  4. New dial and hands installed. I am not 100% happy with the hands yet. They are pretty close, but I may take another stab at the color.
  5. I have the hand set that came with the dial. They match perfectly.
  6. New dial set. Ain't she purdy?
  7. I wish my hands were that steady. When I have a tweezers in my hand it is almost like I am holding a hammer or something
  8. My Val. 72 Daytona is on its way back from being assembled. It will be my last project for a while. Personally, the economy is killing me.
  9. $636.56 ... that was a good deal.
  10. These are great. The color is a creamy tan.
  11. Laz, Very nice! Did you have any trouble installing the Ubi date wheel? Were you able to get it centered (or close to center) on all days? I am on the fence about trying to install mine. Thanks. Marty
  12. Round Two ... Aged acrylic pearl installed. Correctly stamped 93150 bracelet installed. Do you like my sexy lugs? Waiting for this to arrive!
  13. Thanks for the generous offer, but I need a 20 mm.
  14. I am no where near finished, but I think round one goes to me Before After
  15. I have a Clark Tropic 39 sitting on my workbench
  16. Getting closer ... tube hole re-tapped and countersunk. Case ready for finishing
  17. Laz, I am catching up. Rough shaping of the CG's finished!
  18. I remember reading about this technique being used to recreate the "Officine Panerai" text on the movement. Would it work on a date wheel overlay?
  19. No, but I will. Just found out about it myself.
  20. The quality is nice, but the posts on the chronograph hands too small ... too small to be broached. I have tried two sets. Neither could be used
  21. I have an extra center sec hand for a val 72, bought from the seller on eBay. You are welcome to it if you would like to give it a try.
  22. I cheat a little. I use a Dremel drill press. If you clamp everything down tight and take your time, it works fine. I don't think you can drill the holes freehand. You will end up enlarging the hole and will probably break off a bit in the process. If you want to have some real fun, just try getting a broken bit out of the hole http://www.mytoolstore.com/dremel/drillprs.html
