  1. Definitely plan on drinking heavily and on spending a lot of money
  2. The plunger style pushers are from Ofrei ... they fit in the case, let's say with a little coaxing Actually the threads are finer on the Ofrei pushers. Unless you can find the correct tap (good luck with that), you will have to carefully screw them in with a little force. This thread documents the process in great detail. http://www.rwg.cc/members/Aftermarket-Dayt...aytona%2Cpusher
  3. Been wearing this a lot lately ...
  4. Mardo, Have you ever tried to relume a dial? Trust me, it is not fun. Pay the $120 and be a happy camper. Remember ... buy the modder, not the modder's prices
  5. No one from here ... it was from an ad on TZ. http://forums.timezone.com/index.php?t=tre...63112&rid=0
  6. Is this a new "must have" mod for our vintage Daytona reps?

  8. I would install the crown in the case and then drill it. You would at least have some stability that way. I assume you have a drill press. I have started using reaming bits to enlarge holes (like lug holes). They work much better than regular drill bits. You have such a small amount of material to remove. I think either bit would be fine in this case.
  9. Another solution is a metal halide bulb. If you know someone that has an aquarium (probably a saltwater reef tank), it works perfectly.
  10. Another forum member and I have a source to make this tap. We need two additional buyers to get the cost down to $60 US per tap. The tap size is 2.5 mm x0.2. If anyone is interested, please PM me. Thanks. Marty
  11. Hmmmm ... that is odd. Like I said, the SS bezel is back on the watch
  12. Me too ... I already put it back on
  13. Luckily, I bought the donor watch with the movement already serviced. That saved me some time and money.
  14. I am not sure if I would build it again. The amount of money you can spend is staggering ... and I still need a bracelet. Although the end result is stunning
  15. Ok, details ... it is DW Val. 72 case with no serial number. The dial is also from DW. I am not sure about the origin of the rep bracelet. It has 571 ends and after reworking it, I think it turned out very nice. The crystal and crown are gen, the tube is from Clark and the pushers from Ofrei. I was also very happy with the small print of the "ROLEX cosmograph" and the placement of the crown on the dial. It is not perfect, but I think it is better than the average dial. The movement is a fully serviced Val. 72 out of a Longines chronograph. Rob put it all together for me. He knows better than me, but there were two main problems. The first being to find a set of hands that fit (or could be made to fit). The hour and minute hands were fine, but we went through three sets of chronograph hands to find a set that worked. The other problem (and I think this is common) was that the bezel had to be shaved slightly to fit over the gen crystal. It came together perfectly and I am very happy with the end result. Thanks again Rob!
  16. From left to right: DW Daytona w/ MM, MBW DRSD, MBW Red 1680, DW Daytona w/ Val. 72 movement.
  17. I will help to arrange. PM me if interested
