  1. There isn't anyone from this board interested in helping out? Any mods? Admins? Nobody wants to be part of something that could help prevent scamming? I'm surprised CISO
  2. I'm certainly not trying to step on anyone's toes and I apologize if some of you took this post as me skipping a level in RWG management. That isn't my intent by any means. I did send a PM to one of the mods/admins here when I originally came up with this thought the other day, but to be truthful it was an offer to join with me in this kind of an effort and to date I haven't received a reply. I am a member on all 4 rep watch boards, yet this idea is a totally non sectarian group as I envision it. I did not want to get bogged down with any formal propiosals and all the other red tape that hinders getting things done in my current corporate world and I sincerely hope to get support from the admins and/or mods at each board. There will of course be a mission statement and guidelines as to what we hope to accomplish etc, but really wanted to get some idea of interested parties at this stage. Certainly if we develop it to a point where we set up an information board for updates--we'll grant access to all forum mods and admins too in order to facilitate them getting known IP's to block, etc, Right now I am simply putting the idea out there and hioping that I hear from the people that need to be involved. i already have a few volunteers from fellow collectors, I'd love to hear from the admins and mods. Thanks, CISO
  3. Hello: I have been a member here since September of 2006. I am also currently a moderator at RWI. I am looking to start up a group consisting of one or two people, preferably mods or admins, from each of the replica watch boards in our community. This group would not be aligned with any one particular board, but would represent all of them equally. Our mission would be to freely exhange and maintain information across all of the boards on known and suspected scammers. A rep watch interpol if you like. The reason I am sugesting the participants be moderators or admins is because in order to be truly effective, we'll need to ability to search and collect IP addresses on suspected or known scammers. I have a few ideas on how to make this work, including a dedicated board open to the 8 to 10 people that will be involved as well as all admns and mods from each site. Let's work together to keep our hobby free from these people. Please feel free to PM me here or at RWI if you are interested. Thanks in advnace, CISO
  4. Guys: The problem is that the "SMP Strap" is the one being sold on just about every rep of the PO with rubber. In fact, it is only after reading this thread that I found out that they were SMP and not the ones used on PO's. I haven't closely checked the new Casino Royale Ultimate 22mm PO with rubber yet, but wouldn't be surprised at all if same style strap as the one for "SMP" I have a black rubber one in 20mm that I picked up for my PO and guess what? It is the SMP style too. I honestly do not care as once on the wrist it looks fine to me. I also just sold an auto version (4th gen?) of a 45mm Orange bezel PO that came with this same style strap in Orange, was never worn and came with that strap when I got it new. My point is this: don't beat up on TWA because he sold you the 42mm strap for your PO and this is the style you received. Most of us think (or thought) of this style as the one that comes with the watch-and that includes the Asian suppliers-as this is what comes on the reps we get. For most of us there would be no reason to check to see it holes were different or other things because cosmetically--where it meets the watch head, it looks the same as the photos of the real deal on the Omega site or other gens I have seen pics of. Also, is a rep version of the correct PO style even available in 20mm? if not, then this is the only alternative out there. TWA is a great guy and a positive contributor to the RWI board. I do not think cutting and pasting his PM's here in an open forum is cool at all. It really shows a lack of maturity on your part at this stage of the game in your trying to work things out with him. Telling him the strap does not fit on your watch, without trying it on, would of course result in his response to "try it on"--especially if he has seen many PO's with this same strap in the first place. He might think you are a newbie and just simply do not know how to fit the strap to the watch. Try to think about what the other fellow is thinking and not just yourself when negotiating and you will probably have better results. My dos pesos CISO
  5. what you need to do is set up a "photo exchange" or "Trading forum" where member s"Cannot deal in watches--but we priovide as a service to our membership" no laws against selling "jeans" "Caps" "shoes" or "items found on ebay" Now if some ingenious lad devloped a key for the coding: "Jeans" could be a Panerai , etc etc etc
  6. What strikes me the most is rather than uniting as a community of three strong forums (yes many of us can claim membership in all three places) we have people not wanting to make any positive change. Too many people afraid to post their experiences for fear of getting cut off by their supplier of rep watches. Guys, with a united front, w can dictate the rules of particpation and agreed business practices before we allow ANY dealer access to our fertile cash cow of rep buying fanatics. No one is on a wicth hunt--we just are tired of paying through the a** because a few people got greedy (the $165 Planet ocean Ultimate Versus the $238 version for example--both identical product), or because some dealers don't want to address QC issues and CS issues. That's all, no more, no less. So why aren't all three board admins coming to a united decision? If they cannot--maybe we can do this grassroots style? Thanks, CISO
  7. One may no be able to do so...but four operating together certainly could! Also, someone answer this for me. Aren't all the ETA movemements used in our reps "refurbished" or what they call "Surplus" ? Are they claiming they are using brand new unused ETA movements in the reps? CISO
  8. so there is now "g" after the "W" of th forum I am on Cool place too CISO
  9. ND : Great quote. [censored] Meadows was one of the greatest SF soldiers there ever was. CISO
  10. well done! Now I have an idea as to what useful purpose I can give some rep straps and 22mm buckles ! CISO
  11. V: Thank you. I appreciate your reply. Very good news! CISO
  12. V--sorry to hear you had such a bad experience with another member. I understand and do not want to fan the flames. I will play around with these parts and see what happens No hard feelings. I understand how one bad experience can ruin things. Stay cool and enjoy da watches mon
  13. Thanks Kruzer. Unfortunately I didn't "discover" Jimmy until well after all his CG's were sold. I'll see what V says! CISO
  14. Edited original post title--hoping this will generate some, any input. Seems like you guys are very knowledgeable about the various aftermarket parts such as jimmy's, Homer's, Palp's and Finepics project. Anyone shed any light on Homer's CG's and will they work on Jimmy's cases? Thanks, CISO
  15. Klink is no longer a mod/admin as of yesterday at RWI.
  16. Has anyone mated the two? Will Homer's CG fit onto Jimmy's case? I don't want to risk the $ and find out it doesn't work - especially if someone already has tried and can give me some insight? Thanks, CISO
  17. So by reading the thread linked here, the Markus/Palp 2.1 crowns are not correct for a base model 112 or 111 ? CISO
  18. The post doesn't show for me on Timezone CISO
  19. I have one that supposedly was the first "special limited run" by River (? or was it Eddie Lee?) Anyway, what I don't understand is the whole power reserve thing. Does the powere reserve build up as you wear it ? or do i have to wind it until it is wound and then wear it and the power reserve helps prolong the life of the wind? Are there two sets of springs? One spring? Does it function solely by being autiomatic? Anyone help me with thecare and feeding of a 222? CISO
  20. Are you making your own dials or reluming ones that you buy separately? CISO
