I'm about to order an LMPO. I've read that someone had problems with the black engraving (ink?) coming off the back of the watch (and on his wrist). Is this a common problem or something I shouldn't worry about? Thanks.

A while ago I bought an IWC Portuguese (one of my all time favourite watches). I had the crystal sent away for AR treatment and bought a nice Alligator strap. It had the adapted "second @ 6" movement and is not very reliable; it works fine when off the wrist and turned face down but will sometimes stop after a couple of hours (or less) on the wrist. Because I liked the look of this watch so much, I bought another one, this time with the new improved 29j movement. I planned to swap over the strap and AR crystal to the new watch and then sell on the other one. The strap swap was no problem but I can't work out how to do the crystal swap. The inside of the cases are different and while I can get the crystal (including surround) off the 1st watch, I can't see a way of getting it off the 2nd; the 1st watch (when you take the case off) has 4 screws that hold the crystal (and steel surround) to the case. In the 2nd watch there are no screws. Can anyone offer me some advice as to how it can be done, or maybe even someone can do it for me (for the required fee, of course). I'm in EU. Thanks.

I've recently ordered one of these (due for delivery when shipping starts again after CNY). As far as I can see, the only "tell" is on the back; the gen has "easy strap change" next to the lug (see pic) - but you would have to take watch off your wrist to see it. Not seen this mentioned by anyone before

You have 3 choices, I guess: 1. Send it back to the Dealer for replacement/repair 2. Find a local rep-friendly watchsmith to fix it 3. Re-sell it as faulty to get some of your cash back

I've got this beauty on the way and was considering a different strap (leather, shark, whatever). I was thinking that there must be someone on this site who has good taste and could suggest a nice blue strap that is both excellent quality and reasonably priced. Thanks

I know it's "only" a quartz, but it looks superb quality on the wrist. Best $80 I've spent (plus £25 to get it rose gold plated!). Well, I like it anyways! (Comparisons with my SS version):
