  1. Paul, is the 2836 that bad? Not 4813-bad right? or any 21j for that matter? I just pulled the trigger on a black sub-c from Lay, just awaiting QC pics/vid. With the pics/vid, I'm able to tell visually what's wrong with it and have Lay pick me out another one...however my main concern is the noise of the movement. My 21j reps are very noisy when the rotor winds. Am I to expect the same from this 2836? quick fix?
  2. Out of curiousity, please define your 5th gen PO. What sort of qualities would it have that makes this a 5th gen? I'm assuming it's just your standard 21j PO... The 4th gen has only been able to be acquired pre-loved for quite some time now and only god knows when they'll start working on that 5th gen and have it released If it is in fact 'THE' 5th gen, please tell me where you got it!! I'd rather skip most of the hard work and trial/error working with what's currently available in the market. (and I just pulled the trigger on 2 sub-c's w/ a2836's )
  3. I've been looking at gen pics on Rolex forums of that particular watch and the prices have varied from 19k all the way to 28k.... soo....
  4. damn, it didn't take long for you guys to talk me out of it... lol I'll sit on my hands and wait for the 5th gen to come out then. On the other hand, I'm almost ready to pull trigger on some sub-c's :)
  5. oh lord... completely missed that thanks freddy!
  6. ok...so I followed this whole thread.... what's the answer?
  7. ah, well then i stand corrected! thanks for chiming in ubi! there goes my dreams i guess the only way to get a franken 42 right now is either pre-loved or when these factories start making the 5th gen....... I love my odds...
  8. amazing paul!! the detail is much more crisp and fine!
  9. yeah, I figured I would just have to live with that HE valve position.... well the reason it's not accepting gen parts is because of the 21j movement... if I were to stick a 2824 on there, it'd be golden! I'm wondering if someone's done that or off the top of their head knows it does/does not fit because of xxxxxxx hmmmm...
  10. Ok...so, I've just about finished my UPO project but after a couple months of it on my wrist, I felt wears better on a rubber strap because it's so big. I really want to build a 42mm PO on ss but as we all know, noone makes it anymore and the rumors of some sort of 5th gen has vanished behind the ploprof craze. What's to stop me from buying narikaa's or fakemaster's PO and then putting a 2824 on it, of course along with gen dial/hands, etc. Fitment issues with the movement and the case originally with 21j ? I'm thinking I just need the movement holder altered abit..... experts, please school me!
  11. I've always wanted to! But I never got around to it Have you played iRacing?? More than half the guys on my grid swear by it! They said you can even catch some of the pros online --- didn't get verification of this though
  12. On spec racing I'm usually only about 1-2 secs off FTD - like formula mazda, 125cc karts, etc... on touring cars I'm off about 6-8 secs.... My pockets aren't deep enough to take it to the big guys I've got a pretty good race pace specially in the rain so I'm more likely to podium when it's wet in an actual race
  13. Here's the link @ WUS http://forums.watchuseek.com/f23/gmt...ed-231967.html cn: some dude b0rked his GMT's ceramic bezel Also, a post mentions that Rolex sells them as an individual piece? If there's any truth to this, I'm on it like fly on [censored]! I'm thinking if I go to an AD to source one out, they'll probably ask for the serial# ? and if that's the case..Is it possible for a member here that has a 116610 to source one out ?
  14. awesome!! enjoy the holidays then! i'm sure we'll hear from you about your caseback when you get back :)
  15. Paul!!!! any word on the caseback yet, mate?
  16. uh wow....didn't realize they made the seamaster in two-tone! I like!!
  17. Link: http://forums.watchuseek.com/f20/ploprof-turn-crown-upside-down-444730.html So much for QC on a sub-$10k watch C/N: CG installed backwards on Gen Ploprof
  18. Peter, thank you again mate, you've been awesome! I'm def considering the black one!
  19. A-MAZING! I just love the look of it! Well, time to PM paul and budget this thing out! how's yours holding up, Peter? I'm just now re-reading some pages about QC and all that jazz.... should I be worried? btw, it comes with a 2824 in it, correct? or a 21j ?
  20. thanks Peter! what's 'better' about Paul's new dial? btw, where's Paul located? I'd like to get me one of these badboys but I hope shipping to CONUS is not going to be a problem from where he is! and estimated cost?
  21. WOW....how did I miss this thread???! I've been searching for days for some people with AP RO jumbo knowledge! I'm not so much into ROO's but this one definitely strikes me! Forgive me for jumping all 19 pages....but if someone could recap what's been happening I'd like to know how close to gen this is and what else would need to be done.... my past research has led me to want a close caseback and also the "AP" logo at 12 shouldn't be overlapping the minute markers... that's all i got lol soo....i'm subscribed cliff notes anyone?
  22. oh my porno! that came out amazing watcher!!! did the caseback come with the anti-counterfeit globe?
  23. absolutely no clue lol
  24. different caseback but same logo:
  25. wow, it even has the anti-counterfeit logo on the caseback!
