  1. Doubtful that the gen dial would fit since the subdial of the gen is in a different position. Too bad about the dial details tho, I wish they would have implemented the contrast between the background and waves like the gen. That feature gives the watch a unique appearance, IMO. Perhaps we can matt the dial ourselves with some precision abrasion?

    many thanks for the review.

  2. Thanks guys. looks like I'm going to go for the AP RO Jumbo black face. I think that the finish/quality of the MBW is putting me over the edge. I was told there are some flaws with this model but after a search i have found nothing. Any thoughts?

Just wanted to make sure that the Jumbo comes with silver screws on the bezel. I saw some in the past with gold screws (not sure if this is accurate or fantasy, but I'm not a fan)

MBW jubmo's only come with light gold screws.

  3. The 15300 reps are really nice (newest version). The bracelet is well done (dimensionally) but lacks the fine finish quality of the MBW jumbo and the screws are sometimes stripped. The watch case of the 15300 is awesome and the dial rivals that of the jumbo rep (which has an incredible dial). Logo is abit small but it does have white paint filled between the A and P.

As always....the AP RO reps do not fit small wrists that well.

  4. any comments about the photos?

Watch looks great but the pics do not look sharp...perhaps u'd get better results with natural light in the day time. Or increase the exposure time and put the camera on a stand with a timer?

Any chance of a pic of the endlinks with the strap removed? Is there a ridge on the endlink piece to secure the strap?

    TIA

  5. great looking watch...I have the black version and a Paris version. Is it 42 mm? or is the a new new 39-40 mm version?

I'm waiting for the correct case size to come out before buying more AP RO chronos. Instead of using the ROO case the rep factories could easily use the RO 15300/jumbo case.

  6. Ah I was drooling just yesterday about that watch :p. Too bad I missed it by a few days.. -_-

    Wear it well :)

Very nice purchase! I was debating to buy it myself. I'll post pics of my two 15300 jumbo's after they are modded with some superlume. My MBW jumbo had chief's DAR and it looks awesome...a highly recommended mod.

Could u please post a pic of what the endlinks look like where they meet the strap? Are there ridges on the endlinks for better strap fitting or are the ends of the endlinks flat?

    TIA

  7. I'd considering finding an old school case with the correct He placement...there are no good options.

Stan (WBK) sells a decent bond SMP with gen like crown guards that u could switch with some gen parts but it'd need an ETA movement and black bezel.

Perhaps look for a decent black asian SMP to minimize the modding of a couple of parts needed. These tend to have the best crown guards.

  8. I have been wearing my APROO over the last weekend, and it was the first time that I've spent a long time outside in the sun with it. Anyway, the numbers have actually gone from a light green colour to a darker green colour due to the exposure to the sun!

I have the version with a white dial and light green lettering - it actually looks like I've got grey numbers on my dial now, and I don't really mind it all that much, but just wanted to share it with you.

I'm afraid that I don't have a camera with me at the moment to show you the pictures, but thought that it was interesting enough to mention it.

I remember some1 mentioning significant lume discoloration before but it seemed to be an isolated incident.

  9. Thanks, HD! As I branch out from things not Rolex, I'm finding lots of interesting things out there that I never really paid attention to before.

Might just have to find me a 42.5mm; the 45mm would be neat to have, but way too big for me, I think...

the 4th gens are hard to come by...most of the versions out now have He valve positioning problems.

I hear that Sead over at repgeek may have the 4th gen but its >300.

  10. I am looking for this watch ... steel or gold ... white or black dial

    PM please

steel...and I would pass on that particular model. if u want gold..there are nice jumbos out there with better bracelets. look at how the bracelet does not tapper to the watch head on the sides. This problem has been fixed on the newer models. Markers are also too short on the model shown.
