first thing i noticed is that skeleton part of the dial is not that good ( the part of the skeleton dial where the AP logo sitting is too large)
not counting the shallow datewindow and sec@9, looks OK to me..
Looks decent...exterior/finish of watch looks really nice. Just some details missing...small gap in the crown guard...definitely needs a recessed date window with matching cyclops.
Is that bezel ceramic?

I am waiting on my 3717 to arrive and decided that I need an Ingy as well. I read SD4k's excellent review and must have one. I see where some dealers have the standard Ingy and some have double AR versions. Are they the same watch other than the AR? I know on the 3717 when they added AR on the V2 they also screwed up the dial. Reference dealers if need be.
wait for the ceramic bezel version...its coming
or I'd buy the non-AR one and get the chief DAR.

The black case is not the first PVD or black cased watch AP came out with...here are some others:
- End of days
- AP LE Paris
- ROO Survivor
- AP Allblack Themes (ok, that was a one-off)
I think its the La Boutique "New York" that has the PVD case....a watch I've been drooling over and awaiting a decent rep produced.

bosk,
where are you from? If you're from the US, some bezel insert makers from ebay can replicate your's. You have to send them your bezel insert though.
my bezel insert is toast...I tried to flatten out the dent...ended up flattening the entire bezel insert all around...then I ground the edge so it would fit the bezel. It sort of looks weird now...lol
Yes, I'm in the US.
Silix did say that he might be able to find one (rep) for me for $30 but I would have to include it in another order. No plans to get anything now...unless something really nice comes out.

not broken... the gen has fine lettering compared to the rep's. The rep has thicker lettering... see image below.
Gen on the left.
Mine has a dent so I'd definitely like a replacement...gen or rep. My search for a gen bezel has been futile
I read on a gen watch forum that there is a shortage of the gen bezels and its difficult to obtain one.

I don't have a store near me that sells Omega watches so I can't check this out for myself.
My question is, of the following three watches, which ones come with AR coating from Omega (gen watches): Planet Ocean, SMP, Aqua Terra. All??
From reading RWG it seems that the Planet Ocean comes with heavy AR. I have a SPM (rep) and I'm thinking of getting the crystal AR coated but I only want to do so it the gen has the same coating.
Thanks!!
The underside of crystals of SMPs have very good AR...no chance of scratching the AR either.

hmmm.....I think the kill bill AP is fairly nice looking.

i just purchased a used ap bands strap from phoman and it came with the ap bands kit. i will try the strap with my existing watch from josh without trying the conversion pieces from ap. . il have updates soon
there has been some talk of getting the endlinks from oracle straps which is around 90-100 but I'm not sure how they fit AP bands or luxe.
To comment on AP bands, I purchased one of their straps and the quality was not superb considering the price. I purchased their buckle which did not fit the tiny holes in their strap and had to enlarge the holes myself. The stitching has become frayed (with infrequent wear).

hmmm...that AP org movement shown is in "not working" condition....a hard gamble at 2K.

I can't tell you for sure as I bought it "as is" from another trusted member. I can tell you that the hands do fit the canon pinion like a glove which I have been told no other rep hands do. Interestingly, it has always been possible to find dials but the key hindrance has been the hands since you can't open the barrel of the hand enough to fit on the pinion and still have enough metal in place for the hand to stay secure. I suppose it is possible that MBW made custom hands for them though since they have ready access to those sort of things. So I will defer to the experts.
The MBW hands on an old 21K asian movement could always fit the an ETA 7750 but I was never sure if they would fit the AP gen-like movement.
Thanks for sharing the detail of this great project

which movt. did you use? i thought only jlc has movt. with that subdial placing
i could only find concords with el primero movt
The concord ventu has an automatic ETA 2892-A2 w/module with the correct spacing.
Does the pictured APROO have the gen hands? The hour hand seems to have too large of a base like the currect sec @12 reps and the MBW sec @9.

the 007 on the dial seems crooked. crown guards are barely decent and He valve is off as usual. 110 is often the price of new Asian movement SMPs from some dealers.
U could definitely do worst...but that version of the bond SMP should not have 007 on the second hand.

The gen is not bad...that crystal is truly unique and gives the impression of wearing a crystal ball
The bubbles actually wear really well on the wrist.
Unfortunately, the two essential parts of a corum are the lume and the crystal. The rep will have a mineral crystal which will likely be green-ish due to its thickness. Maybe the crystal height has been improved over the older bubble reps but it will still be mineral.

I used a Concord but there are 3 or 4 brands that use the same movement/module combination.
CC-
I used the MBW case, They made the necessary adaptations for the offset crown/pushers to the cases they used for the proect.
I think the only give away is the hands...so the asian hands for the old asian 7750 fit the concord movement? I have a concord but was missing too many parts like the modified case and was not sure which hands set to use. Awesome project!

Strange that the rep looks so much bigger than the gen. Is that just an optical illusion?

This is a watch that I have drooled over since I first saw it advertised:
I have seen *some* rep bubbles on the net but always it ends up being from a site that upon doing a Google search, shows them to be scammers. I really like the size of these watches; very chunky.. and the band isn't so bad itself.
Do any of you fine folks know if any reputable sellers have this time piece?
Kind regards.
No, the corum chrono is not available from any of the rep factories. The corum reps being sold have a crystal that is obviously fake. The gen crystal (sapphire) is .3 to .5 times thicker that the rep crystals (always mineral). The gen corum case is a bit different from the rep too so the rep does not sit as nicely on the wrist.
I have the gen version of the chrono with silver dial and love it. Since corum has discontinued the bubble line....there are some decent deals out there for the gen.

LOL crown guards are a killer
that's too bad...almost a decent rep but there are still too many problems. crown guards and its screws, inner tachymeter ring seems almost perpendicular (case is a bit too small i think...should be 47 mm), orange on the hands too bright, date window too small (should be larger that the 3 marker), crown and pushers, etc.

Silix-watch has lower quality items (asian movements and quartz) while silix-prime has ETA copies with sapphire crystals (most of the time) and generally higher quality items.
My ROO rubberclad only took 1.5 weeks to come....Silix must have been out of stock. I was extremely happy with my ROO from him too...excellent strap, not glue problems on dial, and rubber bezel still shows no wear signs after 3-4 months....its still working perfectly.

The chrono hour hand on my APROO Sec @ 12 fell off when after I reset the chronos. Turns out the chrono hour recorder wheel is busted. The stem on the standard ETA 7750 hour recorder wheel is too short and can't be used. I've tried the dealers but haven't had much luck.
Does anyone know where to get the part? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
Due to the space needed for the cyclops on the dial, all the stems on the AP ROO's had to be a bit longer. U might want to try to source a stem from a 21K bps MBW movement... which should work.
-
Seems like the factories are slowly spitting out the dial variations.
very tempting

Really the first Corum's I have ever cared for.
Stealthy.
those are corum reps that I might actually buy.

Great looking watch
My....that is a nice watch. Just kidding, I have one and its one of my favs. The corum skeleton was a limited production model (about 1100 made) and is no longer produced (stopped in 2006 or early 2007, i believe). As a matter of fact, Corum has recently discontinued the entire bubble line. The AR on corums are really nice and the super thick sapphire is very distinctive. Corums with lume glow like a torch since there is sooo much area for the superlume application. I'd highly recommend one
Its so hard to take decent pics because of the sapphire distortion.

I'd say no. the endlinks on the sce at 12 is ~4.5mm and those on the MBW are 4 mm. Also there is a slight difference in the space between the two positioned endlinks on the case....but these are measurements from my mbw and sec@12 from silix....there may be different sec@12 versions.

Not sure if it will fit. ROO's have straps that are ~28mm. The Ruben is suppose to be larger. The two endlinks are not guaranteed to fit the strap either.
good luck.
