just look on ebay...a watch with the movement occassionally appears on timezone.
-
Hey Tanfo,
What happened to your AP concept watch? That one was truly AWESOME.
-
ebay has a octangular wrench for 44 mm pams for $40 so I'd be interested if it were cheaper...30 or less.
-
Ditto on the praise of the excellent work. I have to do this sometimes for my SMP upgrades. I have a gen T3 dial that I'll probably never get around using since this project is so far down my list and parts are so hard to obtain.

Which lume did u use? It looks fairly coarse.

thanks Ubi! I found it.
Perhaps I'm confused about the tap reference...I thought I saw it on another website: Unitas 6498 401 Stem, Tap 12 from cousins.
-bosk
Tap 12?! Should be a tap 6, I think?Every stem from every manufacturer will have a 401 p/n. Ofrei lists the ebauch stem for the 6497/6498 as the one I listed...
-
Stem should be p/n 401/1524...
Thanks for the tip but I can't find that part # on the website.
It looks like an Omega stem part # but there are no 1524's listed:
http://www.ofrei.com/page1041.html#16138
I figure it should also have a TAP 12 description.
Perhaps Ofrei will just know the part # and its not on their website?
I drove by today but they were closed for the holidays.
-
Hello every1,
Any1 know the part # for the 6497/6498 Unitas or asian clone winding stem from Ofrei?
Cousins displays a part # readily enough but I'm having a tough time finding it from the Ofrei website.
thanks

One things thats inconstant with these reps is the case material.. some sites say titanium (like the genuine) and some say steel. Has anyone actually brought one of these?
there are many versions of the survivor...some with TI and some SS...also some dial options, but the closest one to gen also exists.
-
Got my first SMP from Silix too.
Crown guards way off and same problem as every1 else with the He positioning.....otherwise, its a solid, nice watch. That pearl is super nice
-
Go all the way and slap a swiss 7750 into that puppy
-
From what I read, the gen hands will not fit the rep 7750 movement.
If you're looking for hands, ask one of our dealers to source you some.
Yeah...that's a big no...u might be able to mod the hands..its been done but not recommeded.
Taken from Takashi's SUPER helpful post over at DS.

Very interesting work. IMO, u really can't get a good cyclops...there is just not enough room between the dial and movement to result in any meaningful magnification. GL with the project, tho.
-
Awesome watch there!
I wish gen dials with the red lettering were more readily available
-
Why is the date window different in the wrist shot pic (square instead of rounded)? Normally the scuba line should have square date windows.
I'd love a good rep of the scuba line too.
-
According to Hont...
the survivor is coming out in six colors. The SS version looks decent.

King has it priced in the mid 400's.
Case looks to be 44mm.

I'm waiting on a kill bill in Ti.

You obviously do not know how easy it is to get straps and accessories from AP regardless or not if your name is even in their computer systems.
Just call the AP Florida Service & Parts manager (Fabio) and get one from him.
Considering this is a limited production of 1000, I figured it would be extremely hard to get a gen strap. I'd love to see the pics once u get one. If I had the cash, I'd consider getting the gen survivor (I like the watch although many hate it).
If the rep factories make the rep survivor strap the same quality as the ROO rubber strap, I'd definitely be getting one.
The gen survivor looks to be the same size as the ROO (42 mm) so YES the strap should fit. Other than the two cosmetic dots on the endlinks, the sizing looks identical.
-
The 300 is a great rep. Does yours have the bracelet with pins? I was under the impression that the newer ones have the proper pins instead of screws. I would be interested in what you received.
hmmm...the pics of the 300 on that site has screws near the endlinks....should these be pins too?
I'm missing a 300 chrono in my omega collection

I'm interested in putting that gen rubber Survivor strap on my AP ROO Rubberclad rep. Do you think it would fit?
I'd like to ask how are u going to get one?
-
Thanks, Kruzer. I've often wondered but was afraid to ask. I think part of the thing that bothers me about AP ROO models (with the exception for RBII) is the large numbers. The subtle markers on the RBII are much nicer. On a non-chrono, this could be a really nice aesthetic.
They make a scuba limited edition line (orange, blue, red, and black inner bezels).
-
Black, def. black! Now put the white gold bezel on her and you have a winner. Blue dials look tacky.
Black or electric blue....and don't stick a white gold bezel on it (unless u have the special black dial that goes with it).
-
No, and don't wait for it...
There are A7750 sec @9 and quartz versions out there.
-
Thank you. Yes... gen. I think I purchased it around 1990-91. It was my first watch beyond a Casio.
I see these on the 'bay once in awhile...a good looking watch that is different from the everyday blue bond SMPs. I'd say keep it as is too.

SWEET!.
I like the 2531 case more tho...the crown guards are better. Although they are from closed factories....I think they are from different closed factories. I have both those exact same cases, IMO.
Did the white dial come from ebay? I'm almost positive I placed a bid on it
I'm currently looking for a red Omega dial that is only sold in japan.
