  1. I would wait for a movement review before buying one, hopefully it will be jeweled where needed. I will be interested to see how they managed to move the subdials such a small way across the dial....

I think that 298 price means all the AP sec @12 fans are getting reamed...but we all know that price fixing had inflated the AP ROO line by at least 100.

The PO chrono is a must have in my collection if the movement proves to be decent :)

  2. Quartz hands sizes are normally completely different than those for ETA based movements.

Realistically, I think the only mod possible are getting gen hands and adding superlume. AR can be added to give your watch that wow factor. A gen dial will not work since the date window is a bit off on the rep and a gen or like movement adds a host of more problems (as well as cost).

  3. I know you stayed away from the dial because it didn't come with the inner "Tachymeter" bezel and as such was useless. ;) On the case and bracelet they are not gen. They are MBW and although the brush work is fairly good on their stuff this one is worth a rebrush. I also had the benefit of a gen AP to compare the brushing. It is funny that this topic came up as I have just sent it out to The Zigmeister for a dial and hands change. :)

I've move one step closer to this project as well. I managed to score a gen dial. I have the movement already. I only need a properly drilled case and perhaps hands :(

Or if I can find a blue tachymeter bezel ring, I'd stick this dial in a sec at 12 and have a semi-vintage APROO.

  4. I bought the strap and clasp from someone on TZ, but it can be ordered through any Omega dealer, although it is not cheap.

    I believe the part nos. are as follows;

    blue strap (20mm) - 9798.80.82

    clasp - ST1506.832.117

Beware, though. The gen case has 2 sets of lug holes, and without taking mine apart again, I can't tell you at the moment if one gets used for the bracelet and one for the rubber strap, or if the 2nd set is for another possibility entirely.

So only one of the holes is used? I think I've seen this gen strap fitted on a SMP rep (non-chrono) so the normal holes that fit the bracelet should work. the strap does not "flip out" once on the wrist? I know the Rep PO straps flip out on the SMP case. My corum uses two pins per side for this reason.

  5. Once I get it to the consistency I want, I start luming. Yes, it will dry out in a few hours unless the dilutor or solvent is added. Perhaps the few hours is a secret the luming masters are holding back but it is not what I do :)

    Hello,

i received my first C3 Superluminova from RCTritec yesterday.

Now i have read in the technical data sheet that i must leave the mixture for a few hours before use.

Is that right? Will the mixture not dry out?

    Any help would be appreciated.

  6. The sec at 12 can be had for less...I got mine from silix for 480 shipped. Look around at other dealers, but there may some sacrafice for customer service.

You can find some of my previous threads in regard to this watch. I currently have two AP ROO from that exact website..

I have the SS Navy and the Rubber Clad Black dial.

I did extensive research before making my purchase and on which site to do so.

I love both of my watches and feel EXTREMELY comfortable wearing them in Los Angeles where judgment is everything. I have held a gen to the rep on both of mine and it is very very very hard to see any differences.

As far as the movement goes, I am a bit concerned for prolonged use but as of now I rotate my watches keeping them off when I am not wearing them as Fransisco suggested. (this is how I justified to my wife buying two) LOL

I have also had nothing but pleasant experiences buying from that dealer. The service before and after purchase has been impeccable..

I am waiting on bumble bee for my next purchase!

If you have any questions feel free to PM me.

  7. Here's the deal...the two watches have complete different movements. The sec at 12 is a modified A7750 and the gen is an ETA based or Jaeger LeCoultre automatic with a Dubois chronograph module popped in (the new AP's have their own in house movements now). The gen's date window is set very deep in the watch compared to the date position of the A7750 so you will never get the same mag look. There are frankens out there around $3000-4000 if you want the same exact look. We've learned that the current sec at 12 is probably the closest we are going to get for AP ROO's.

AP ROO's are not nearly as bad as the sec at 6 movements....mine is running fine and so they majority of those on this forum, i believe.

Hey so i've been lurking for quite a while now and I believe I'm ready to take the plunge into buying my first quality replica watch,

the piece i'd like to buy is http://www.jpc8118.com/00000aap10002-royal...c12-p-4973.html this one.

I went to a gen dealers website and noticed that the part where the day number is showed is magnified and it dosnt look like it is on perfect clones's website

Does anyone have this watch that can vouch for it? any idea why the date window isn't magnified?

here is the original of it

    http://www.thefinestwatches.com/index.cfm/...el_Bracelet.htm

hopefully these ARE indeed the same watches (lol if i got it all wrong)

    thanks alot for the help!

(another thing, about a month ago there was a sticked thread in this forum of someone dissecting the @12sec ROO and he had many complaints about it's lasting qualities, have these issues been adressed in these new watches? or are they still there? i would hate to have a 600 dollar paper weight :( ! )

  8. I decided to build another one of these. Ti Case was from MilitaryTime over at PMWF...its actually a decent case with sapphire. Complete watches can be had for $70 with $24 upgrade to a lightly AR'd sapphire crystal. The Ti case is a bit more than the prices I just mentioned. Movement is from an Android skeleton with a unique sec hand (gear wheel) and I believe dark blue anodized parts. Bottom of my crown guard got scratched as I was filing down the feet to result in a more tight closed lever :(

I'm not completely happy with hands but was too lazy to do anything else :)

  9. I would suggest to wait till you see the Black Dial and allow it some time to grow on you ,

It is by all means a marvelous watch , the fit and finish of the MBK AP Jumbo matches that of a Gen Omega or even supersedes it :thumbsupsmileyanim:

    Congrats and cheers

I agree...or the blue dial...I have the black.

I'm about to upgrade mine with Chief DAR and super lumed the hands and dial.

One compalint is the bracelet for small wrists...I've mod mine by filing the edges of the two links at each segment under the bracelet....giving the bracelet more flex at each link.

  10. I originally posted this over on RG, but someone mentioned that this may be a better place to ask.

I finally tracked down a couple of MBW RO Jumbos for sale, but neither one has a dial in the color that I had wanted. Since it seems that the usually sources for the MBW version have vanished (Paso and TTK), are there any other reliable sources for dials or other parts for these watches? I may need some bracelet links as well.

Getting a dial is going to be fairly hard....unless some1 here is willing to swap colors with you. What color are u looking for?

or contact bk or wm9 since wm9 also sells the same jumbo watch.

  11. it has the metal rings and to me it looks very off.

we need to hear pam1a one this one.

Definitely no metal rings on the gen...Kings version with all black text does not have the metal rings although it has a strange "step" or something at the subdials...go figure....:)

Pics of Josh's dial color seems off compared to gen...perhaps this is a lighting artifact.

  12. With the economy as it is I am sure there are good real estate deals to be had. However, I am not that sure of all the ins and outs of buying property in the states, as I am not living there. I am sure there is more to it than it appears, but what is the full story on places listed on ebay such as this one? http://cgi.ebay.com/GORGEOUS-UPDATES-BEAUT...1QQcmdZViewItem

I just followed a previous listing they had which sold for under $5,000 with 21 bids in the end. Are these deals too good to be true? Or what is actually up with the super-cheap price. Sure, times might be a little tight right now, but it seems there is no outstanding mortgage on the property, so the winning bid buys it outright. Rent it out for even $50 a week and you cover the rates and the interest on the loan (if you were to take a loan on the full price listed), and in 5 years time when things start to get better again sell it for proper market price. Of course, this is just one example, the neighborhood might be bad, the house may need demolishing, there may be no work around, etc etc but on the face of it, what is the full deal?

fed law require that the house be in a livable state so u may have to sink more money in it after purchase. houses are being sold for 5K but buyers sometimes have to sink in another 20-50K to make the house "livable" following inspections.

  13. I just found this piece on King's site. The caseback seems to be incorrect but it's for sale for $2xx. Half the price of the other ROO.

Got mine from King too and Josh carries it too.

It comes in two versions...black or white date wheel. It is highly inaccurate to the gen but in terms of watch design, it looks great. Gen is a Royal Oak chrono with sec at 6 in Ti...~40mm...as opposed to the ROO case in SS with sec at 9 used for the rep...42mm. The rep is just a nice quality beautiful watch (not the rep strap tho...although oracle straps fit fine).

The gen has the white datewheel, BTW.

  14. Choices for my next DAR coating are a MBW AP jumbo, MBW AP ROO themes, or MBW AP EOD.

which of these would u guys get DAR'd? I don't want to deal with the screws of my sec at 12 AP ROO (which has a white dial)....so leaving this one alone for now.

Considering gens are not coated and the AP crystals are very flat to begin with, DAR is not really needed but it does make the dial POP. My AP RO chrono Paris is DAR'd.

    DSC00080.jpg

    DSC00289.jpg

Also getting DAR'd with this run are maybe 2 nice flat omega SMP crystals (no coke-bottle effect) or a PAM crystal...I have maybe 3 slots in the next run...possibly 2.
