  1. Ahh, got it back up and running. It was fun. So easy a caveman can do it. LOL!
  2. It maybe this one. I got this watch used at a bargain awhile back with a Swiss H movement swan neck with needle regulator. Originally from Josh. Now it looks like you can get a Swiss swan neck H movement with dagger regulator. I've only seen it on Davidsen's watches. I'd get this movement it's the best I've seen. Get a cheapy 111H and swap the movement, relume the dial, put on Davidsen's hands and add a Palp crown. Doing all this the crown guard is the flaw. If Davidsen's short lugs don't bother you, get his 111H and relume a REP dial and swap it. Now the short lugs is the flaw. Those short lugs will ruining your thick straps. I hope this make sense.
  3. It must be hard being TTK. LOL! Pimping ain't easy.
  4. Heck, I just got into watches not too long ago and now look what happened. I figure with all the REPs I own it will cost me a small fortune to maintain these buggers. Why not do it yourself? If I had a whole day free I could do it in one day but I stretched it out and took my time. After all this, it really gives me an understanding how a movement works. I love it! It calms my nerves. Check out the images. It might be slow loading.
  5. It's not difficult at all you just gotta have the patience. The patience starts when screwing on the stem. The stem has fine threads and screwing on correctly is a must. This crown needs a shorter stem so this involves filing down the stem to size.
  6. Hi, My Palp crowns finally came in. I installed one for my 177H and now it's fully modified! The new crowns seem a little different though. The thread doesn't go all the way to the end only quarter ways. I buffed out the crown some to match the case. It had a dark matte finish in stock form and the buffing gave it a lighter tone and shines like the titanium case. Here are the mods: Davidsen hands Palp crown Super Lume The cannon pin and hour wheel was not needed since this has an Asian 6497. The watch is from EL and strap Toscana Capriccio Il Mupetto if you're wondering. Enjoy.
  7. 46mm 6152/1 on Strap Culture And... this little guy. 38mm Rolex Milgauss
  8. I would guess the Bergeon is made in Swiss.
  9. I'm interested in 2 for 6497. 2 more if available in Ti.
  10. I got tracking after 10 days. I couldn't get the tacking to work though and I'm still waiting for it to come.
  11. Hmm, I was thinking of using finger nail polish remover. I was wondering if it would mess up the face....
  12. I want to remove the print off the dial. What do I use to remove? Thanks.
  13. I'm planning on just learning enough to service a movement and do some minor repairs. Do I need a staking tool or a jeweling tool?
  14. This may be of interest. It's a DVD on how to work on a pocket watch. It's $99 I might get this. http://www.tascione.com/pocwatch.html
  15. There was a brown film on the dial. To me it didn't shine right. I don't think he mentioned cleaning the dial. Just smudge the tar around. And it would be a pain staking task to cover just the painted parts. Call me crazy but there is a certain way that these dials shine.
  16. I did this awhile back. The result looks good. But I decided to wipe it off because it left a film on the black dial which I though looked strange. Strange like the dial looked dirty. Or maybe... I'm strange. LOL Here's some pics.
  17. Since I have some Asian movements in my collection I run it in both directions. Set it and forget it. I also put a dummy watch in the winder for balance.
  18. I like this modded SKX007. Maybe you like it too.
