I use a UV light made for curing crystal cement & the exposure time is however long it takes. With my limited experience, this is definitely more art than science.

I have never seen 1 with such wide markers (including 'maxi' dials), but, with Rolex, I guess anything is possible so you may be right. I stand corrected.

New, yes. I do not know about anyone else, but I get tired (pretty quickly) of seeing the same pics over & over again, so I like to refresh the photobucket stable regularly (or whenever a compositional idea motivates me to Energize the Canon).

Not gen. Hard to be sure about the printing quality based on your pic, but the markers at 6 & 9 are much too wide & the crown looks funky, so the dial is either aftermarket or a poorly done relume (not done by Rolex). I would also agree that the DW is probably wrong for that model/vintage. Sorry.

No, not at all. My 1665 is a vintage (early 70s) model & my comments were meant in that context (before dive computers & quartz/digital watches were readily available to pro divers). Of course, today, no serious diver would even consider using an expensive piece of jewelry as a tool. And I am sure that Rolex was well aware of that when the Deepsea was designed (to latch onto the then-BIG WATCH fad).

I am staying away from the Deepsea watch (any rep/any version). While I appreciate the technology that went into the gen, I have always considered the watch to be a hideous monstrosity that belongs 20,000 leagues under the sea (pun intended). Initially, I had planned to buy the rep just to say I have 1 & let it gather dust in 1 of my cases. But, unlike the GMTIIC, which grew on me every time a member posted pics of his rep until I HAD to have 1, my limited attraction to the Deepsea waned with each successive viewing. And Lani's picture-rich review pretty much clinched it for me. Too big & too ugly for my taste, so I will be passing on the Deepsea. I do not believe Rolex has released the final specs yet. Your best bet is to check sites like Timezone for details. And please do not re-quote entire posts containing pictures when you are just adding 2 lines of additional comments. It wastes alot of space.

Ditto & I would add that if this is a watch you plan to keep, I would avoid gold (& 'jewels') altogether. With the current price of gold hovering around $850/ounce, it is ludicrous to think that you are going to get much gold on a $300 rep watch. In my experience, what you do get is a very thin layer of poor quality (off-color) gold plate that will wear off within weeks or months (assuming you do not scratch the case before then, which will reveal the silvery color of steel beneath making it obvious to the entire world that your watch is fake).

RWG is a bit daunting for a 1st-timer. There is alot of info to take in, many forums from which to get it from &, in my opinion, too many pinned articles (making them more noise than clarification for an already overwhelmed newbie). But what gets my goat are newbies who not only ask the same "Where can I get the best....." questions, but feel the need to PM these questions to members (like me) & expecting to receive a personal buying service, often for watches that the member may know little or nothing about (which the newbie is not aware of because he has not been around long enough to find out). But I think this would remedy most of the problems - Require all new members to read a single document containing no more than 7 items that explains (generally) what NOT to ask, where to find basic/frequently asked answers & Da rules (which, if it were not buried 3 layers deep in the Wiki (the last place I would ever look for them), might help).

I have come to a similar conclusion over the Deepsea (the model, not just this version of it), so I think I am going to let this pass as well.

It looks like it may sit too high, but the only way to know for sure is to fit the caseback & see. You may also run into problems getting the stem to align with the hole in the case.

Yes, slightly, depending on which movement - Vajloux 23/72 or A7750. No. No (unserviced) rep should ever be considered to be trouble-free. However, the problems that plague the secs @ 6 7750s used in modern Daytona reps are inherent to the additional secs @ 6 componentry, which are not used for the secs @ 9 7750s that are used in vintage Daytona reps. Properly serviced, the standard A7750 (secs @ 9) has a very good track record as a generally reliable movement. Your choices for DW Daytonas are the Valjoux 23 (2 working subdials), Valjoux 72 (3 working subdials, same as the gen 62xx Daytonas) or asymmetrically pushered A7750 (3 working subdials). You need to use the Search to more homework, but I will give you this (ignore the prices quoted in that thread & contact DW (not me) for details).
