hi guys, need to ask for opinion on this. I have all along liked the look of the UPO 45mm. Am thinking of getting one with orange bezel and also some gen parts to make it more gen-like. I am thinking the gen dial, hands, crystal, crown and possibly bezel. All these parts will not be cheap and was just wondeing if it will be worth it and also if maybe some may not needed. I was thinking of the bezel do I really need to change it to a gen bezel? All opinions would be appreciated!

Well , not really as I can't even change straps without being frustrated! All mods will be done hopefully by a respected modder for Pams. Just received today my Pam 252 Arktos from Eurotimez (Chris). Many thanks to him for putting up with my non-stop emails and as usual a very smooth transaction. Watch arrived in great shape! Chris did a fantastic of wrapping up the watch. Everything works! So am very satisfied! I have bought a V CG, T Crown and now awaiting a Lello DW to send it for mods to make it even better! Also bought a very nice strap from V( first of many, I am sure), a Prada strap! Please see pics. Once everything is complete will update with new pics! I am excited about this and can't wait to see the final result! Next up is a Pam 111H project!

Panerai Experts, I am here again and would really need some advice. I have been a member here for a while but really not much posts initially as I was reading a lot of the post. My forays into replicas have been mostly other brands except Panerai. I have had a gen 111H before about 3 years ago but sold it off after 3-4 months! I will never forget my embarresment regarding that incident! I was in Germany and the time difference was about 6-7 hours. One fine day, a german colleague remarked to me that I forgot to adjust the time on my watch to German time. I was so embarrassed not because of that as I know I did, it was more because I did not wind it! At that time, I was so used to auto watches that hand wound movement was quite alien to me. I went back and promptly sold it off. As I found RWG, I have been reading a lot and really found the member here very knowledgeable about watches. I noticed however, that Panerai is the one brand that is the most associated with the word modding. it's only in this Panerai where you can find member s coming up with CG, crowns, cyclops, DWs! Sure there are other brands that do have modding but mostly with ETA parts or gen parts. Only in Panerai do you see such dedication! little by little, this has renewed my interest in this brand. I have made my first Panerai Rep purchase of a Pam 252 Arktos! Also bought a V CG, T Crowns ( don't care if its 48, 52 or 60 teeths, still beautiful) and currently awaiting a lello DW. all these will go the the Pam 252 to make it look even better! Now I am itching to get a historic or base model, 111H or 112 comes to mind. Can I ask the experrts to please chime in on how to get started. I may be over ambitious but I wanted to get a super-modded one! For this, I blame all the members here for all their postings which has made me unable to accept a out of the box rep anymore I intend to get another V CG, I have a T Crown. That takes care of the CG bit, now I understand that the dials are a problem especially the L Swiss L under the 6. DSN has been touted as having the best rep dial. Is that true and if so, would it fit the rep case of say a base Pam from Puretime or Trustytime? I ask this as I understand the V CG will most likely not be able to fit a DSN case. So I would really be grateful for any advice on where or how I should start. Sorry for the long post and hope that the experts here really help on this! Thanks!

Beautiful! I remember I was trying to decide between this or the 252. Can I ask if the DW has been changed? I am no expert but it looks pretty good to me. Also, how is the bezel, is it still loose or alreadt tightend. I any ways, a really beautiful watch you have there! Now I kind of regret ordering the 252.!!

Hi, I have attached a pic of my recently sold GT XL. This was from Puretime however, there were some reluming done by The Zigmeister.

Recently, I am beginning to like this watch more and more. I know it has some flaws but it is a beaut. I saw on website of trustywatchguy that has one with swiss movement. I notice however that htere is no L Swiss L below the 6. Need to ask the Panerai experts, for the H series of this model, does it have the L Swiss L below the 6? Also, will a V CG be suitable for this? IS the Gen CG brushed or polished? What about the lever, brushed or polished? Would really appreciate any feedback or advice on this before purchasing. Hi, I am also beginning to really like this model. I understand that the DW colour is not right. Would anyone be able to advise on whether the DW can be painted to the right colour? Alternatviely, can a gen 7750 DW be painted and swapped into this? Would really appreciated all comments on this. Sorry if this sounds silly but I still consider myself a newbie and therefore the need to ask. Thanks

Wow! very nice. I have also asked Eurotimez to get me a HBB Black Magic but the the dial and hands from the Ice Bang! Hope it looks as good as youe! By the way, the DW on your HBB looks very good. Is that a rep Dw or did you swap it?

How does the rep compare to the gen? I think this is nice. Would love to buy one but the rose gold colour seems to be off from the pics of gen I saw.

I know. It is beautiful. I am not too sure if this will be repped as it is 44mm. However, I do hope that this can be repped as then they can also rep the Ingy Ceramic Bezel. I would buy both if they do rep them!

I have. Honestly, its ugly to me. My favourite Cousteau Diver is the first one without the chrono. That to me was really beautiful. As to the 07, I have read that the subdial colours are not accurate. Not sure about that as I have not seen a gen 07 before but I have seen the 06 gen and the rep seems close. I have just ordered a swiss 7750 movement so now need to decide where I should put it in. 06 or 07. Can't find a review on the 07 but would love to see any comparison pics betwwen gen and rep 07.

Hi, I was looking at this also. It is beautiful but after comparing with the gen, I noticed the the badge on the 9 oclock sub-dial is not as detailed as gen. I have also attached a picture of the watch. Any opinions would be great as I am thinking of getting this instead of the balck magic. Thanks!

Hi to all the IWC experts, Recently, I am seriously thinking of selling off most of my reps and to re buy again. I have always had this problem, even for gens. I tend to change my watches too often! I have a CD 06 that has a K222 Double AR, relume, DW Swap, and movement serviced done by The Zigmeister. This watch has quite a bit of cash pumped into it, not to mention the time waiting for it to be shipped back. However, I have seen a couple of the CD 07 posted for sale and I am now seriously contemplating selling my CD06 and getting the 07. Thanks to RWG, I now will not be able to just buy a rep and be satisfied with it. It will probably be sent for AR coating, and this time swapping to a Swiss 7750 movement. The question I have and need the inputs of the experts is that, which is the better rep, in terms to closeness to the gen? 06 or 07? Would really appreciate any opinions and input. Alternatively, any one that has a CD 07 fully modded and wants to sell, please send me a pm! Thanks, Mark

Thanks for all the advice, guys. For now, I have decided with the Hublot black Magic. It just seems to be better looking. The C1 is a beautiful watch but just can't buy both. I am also going to be starting a Pam project so need funds for sourcing of parts! Have just placed an order for the Hublot. Wish me luck!

Hi Ztech, I have done that, believe me. I have read the forum like a bible! It is from here that I have been inspired for my modding projects like IWC and now Pam (most difficult). The reason I want to ask is to just get a feel of the expert's opinion if they had to chose between one. Both are great reps and I wish I can buy both but the Mrs will not be allowing that.
