  1. I think that based on what I've seen, the seller on iOffer is selling stolen pictures of genuine watches. That's the watch although that's a horrible rep.
  2. I've been looking for an Aquatimer dual crown but haven't seen any at the regular dealers. I've seen them on ioffer but I've learned to avoid that place. Does anyone know of a trusted source for this watch? Also, I'm looking for an IWC MK XVI. Josh has the MK XV... maybe I just have to wait?
  3. Thanks, Ubi. The stems arrived and the work is done. It sure is easier when you have the right parts.
  4. Okay- next question- anyone know what the caliber number is for a swiss swan neck PAM movement? It's required at cousins.
  5. I replaced the crown on my PAM112 with a crown from T but the stem was too long so I shortened it. Now it's too short. Yes, I saw this coming but couldn't do anything to prevent it because I'm too impatient to test frequently enough. Does anyone know a good source for PAM stems?
  6. Like many members here, I have a bunch of PAMs but there are two in particular that I wear frequently and would like to get proper crowns for them. The crowns are fine... really (not really)... they're just too thin now that I know better. Here's my question- how do I know which crowns to get that will likely fit? Once I find them, how do I install them properly? Alternately, is there someone to whom I can ship the watches to have the proper crown installed and thereby avoid as many headaches as possible?
  7. As much as I hate cross-posting, I'll do that- thanks for the tip. Do you have any sources for crowns?

  9. The opposite is also true- some of the most phoney people I know insist on wearing only gens. They do this to compensate for the fact that in spite of their wild success, they still feel unworthy inside. This doesn't change the fact that they're complete douchebags.
  10. Frankly (as many of you already know), I'm a HUGE fan of reps and a HUGE fan of gens. However, the gens I buy cannot be repped (for various reasons). I owned a gen IWC flieger chrono and was disgusted with the fact that it was merely a 7750 movement- however highly polished and refinished it was. After finding these high-quality reps via this site, I haven't looked back at gens that can be repped within 99% of their lives. Obviously, this is just my opinion, but for my uses, if a rep can fool me, I'm happy. This whole idea of feeling satisfaction "knowing it's real" is for fools with too much money to spend. I swear, they get their satisfaction from knowing they can afford it and NOT from the fact that their wearing haute horlogerie. I get that. I understand that. However, to describe it as anything more meaningful than that is a rich man's lie. Real people don't wear real watches- they wear $30 timexes from walmart. THOSE are the people who really don't care what people think. As for the rest of us, we buy the best we can afford. For some of us, that means buying the best regardless of whether it's a rep or a gen.
  11. I have one of the $200 or so version of what you're talking about. Viewing a watch movement through a sapphire back is enlightening. I haven't taken any pics though although they're certainly doable with high quality results (I don't remember the actual resolution). I guess I don't have much interest in these types of pics or I would have posted them somewhere but my point is that at that price point, you certainly could use the output for pics and even movies if you so desired.
  12. I don't mean to be a d-bag but I have never seen so many watches in one collection and not want ANY of them- not even as a gift. I guess my point is that we all have different tastes and we should buy what we like. I was frankly disappointed when I looked at all of those watches and saw nothing I liked. Trust me, I'm no prize but I'd bet that if I met the guy, we wouldn't have a lot to talk about- either that or we'd be the best of friends.
  13. It's definitely worth waiting for V2 for you. If I were you, I'd wait until V4 when they've fixed ALL the flaws.
  14. Finding imperfections and using them as reasons not to buy one is definitely cheaper.
  15. After a year of waiting, it took only 4 days to arrive from Josh. I'm in the middle of grilling so I can't post extensive details but here are some quick and dirty shots. All in all, after all the build up of expectations, I'm very pleased with the final product. http://gallery.me.com/stevenwilson#100034&...black&sel=0
  16. It's FINALLY available! I ordered one from Josh. I will post pics when it arrives.
  17. What's strange is that the guy seems legit and posts all over the place selling what look like gen watches. That said, WTF!?
  18. I apologize in advance for the grossly oversized pics and the dusty condition of the watch. I was in such a rush to take the pics that I didn't dust it off. If you find this to be too offensive, I'll retake the pics and repost. That said, look at the bright side- you can see the weave of the strap in great detail. Found out about it here... http://www.rwg.cc/members/Real-Bond-Nato-t94348.html
  19. I like the 1675! Do you have any close up pics? Can you share the source?
